Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Snow was on the ground; that much was obvious to everyone. There was a cold wind with a sharp chill, the sun was hidden behind a sky made entirely of clouds, and the concept of “warm” was a distant memory. However, as Lasair had witnessed in land after land, the people lived on. The cold didn’t stop a person from going out to do what needs to be done. Didn’t stop them making a living.
And so, after spending a few too many days indoors, hiding from the cold and eating a bit too much of his parents’ food, Lasair decided to head out and face the winter weather. He did his best to bundle against the cold, but that didn’t stop the chill from seeping in. Maintaining a quick pace, he set off to the edge of the peasants’ hovel. He didn’t stop until he came to the very edge of the district, where people were hardly seen and the only buildings around were uninhabitable in this cold weather.
He decided to lean against a rather large tree, catching his breath for a few moments before beginning the practice of his magic. That was the reason he had come so far away from the common town, after all. He began snapping his fingers, trying to keep the fire alive as wind fought to steal it away.
However, the crunching of footsteps spooked him into stopping his practice, and he hoped whoever it was hadn’t seen him conjuring out in the open like this. Lasair had really hoped no one would spot him in the barren part of town.

Keefe was lost once again. In his quest for trying to find the theater district he lost his whereabouts and ended up... not where he wanted to be. He ended up in, what seemed to be, the edge of town where the lower classed people lived. As Keefe walked about he noticed a man just outside of, what he thought, was the city limits, "Maybe that man may be able to help me?!" Keefe thought to himself as he began to walk closer. The closer he got the more Keefe noticed something bright, glowing from the mans hands. Curious about what the man was doing he ended up walking faster and clumsier than before, make a lot of noise as he approached the man. As he got closer Keefe must have startled the man for however the man was making his hands glow stopped. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you I was just looking for help..." Keefe said in a kind and bit confused voice, "But I must ask... how were you doing that thing with your hands?"

Thinking fast, Lasair made it overly obvious that the man had spooked him, going so far as to jump a little in place. As Lasair turned to face this young man he put on a grin of embarrassment and quickly looked the other person over. There were no signs that he was an ander, so Lasair had to assume he wasn’t. “That glowing?” he begun. “Just a firefly I stumbled upon while looking at this tree here. I’m not sure how it survived the snow, must have been hiding in the bark or something. Sadly it flew off when you surprised me.” Straightening his coat a bit, Lasair stood up straighter and switched to his friendly smile. “And if you are lost, may I offer to escort you to where ever you were trying to go? I know this town quite well.”

Keefe had obviously scared the man and he didn't mean for that to happen, though when he spoke he didn't seem mad just embarrassed. "Oh if you could escort me that would be great!" Keefe smiled, happy the man would help him but he was not going to give up on the glowing light he saw. "I don't mean to be rude but that light couldn't have been a firefly, their light is not strong enough to create a light that bright. I grew up chasing and catching them... I was a bit obsessed with them at one point." Keefe said a bit embarrassed to admit that. "I must ask are you... Oh what's the word..." Keefe stumbled trying to think of the word, "Oh it starts with an A... Oh... their ummm..." Keefe thought if he explained what the word meant maybe the man knew what word he was trying to say, "Oh... Its a group of people who have like magic powers, they can do thing others can't!" Keefe's face began to light up with excitement, he always admired the stories his mother told him about those people. "My mother use to tell me that's what I could do what they could... but I didn't have anyone to teach me... so I guess I'm not..." Keefe became a bit sad saying this but then something crossed his mind, "But this person I'm looking for is! She has wings!" Keefe's mind was racing as he began to look for the photo of the girl he was looking for.

“Whoa, hold on a minute there. You haven’t even told me your name and you’re already spilling your life story?” Lasair grabbed the boy’s shoulder to make sure he had his attention. “I can tell that you’re new around here, so let me just give you some advice. People in this city don’t like magic-users. ‘Anders’ are what they’re called. And if you’re an ander, it’s best to keep it to yourself.”
He took a step back then, hoping the kid got the message. Clearing his throat, Lasair continued. “If I may begin the introduction, I am Lasair Landevier Lupen, happy to be of service.” He took a bow and smiled as if the serious conversation moments before hadn’t happened.

Keefe's gave the man... or Lasair, his full attention. He didn't realize how the people in this city didn't like things like "Anders", his town was very cool with it, but it was still best not to flaunt stuff like that. "I'm soo very sorry. I didn't mean to start running my mouth like that... I just got very excited about that." Keefe said as he hung his head down some. "Oh and my name is Alonzo Ruxton, but my friends call me Keefe!"

"I needed to get to the... Oh what was the name... It's like the center of the city... umm Center Gate? No ummm... Center Square maybe?" Keefe said, very confused and somehow making himself seem even more lost than before. "Can you tell I'm new." Keefe said with a smirk and hint of embarrassment to his voice. If only he had a map... that may help him.

“Sure, Central Square is the name and it’s in this direction.” Lasair gestured with his hand. “It’s not too far. However the square is rather big. Is there anywhere specific you need to go to there?” Lasair began walking in the indicated direction as he spoke.

"Well to be honesty no... I would be looking for art, since I'm and art curator, and asking if anyone had seen a person I'm looking for. I doubt I will find them here but you never know!" Keefe said with a smile as he began to walk in the direction the man was pointing.

Raising an eyebrow, Lasair took up stride with the boy. “May I ask who this person is? I know many a people in the city.” Art was an interesting business to be involved in. Perhaps this boy wasn’t quite so much a boy after all.

"Ohh Ummm..." Keefe mumbled as he reached in his pocket and grabbed a small photo, "The picture is old, and the girl was very young in it so she may not even look like this anymore, but it is the only picture I have of her." He said as he handed the photo to the man, "She is my sister. The only part of my family that may still be alive..." Keefe said with a rather heavy heart and sad smile as he looked at the picture he just handed to the man.
(Sorry this picture is huge and blurry but it is the best i have right now)

Lasair took the photo and studied it closely. “Hmm. I can’t say I recognize her, but it doesn’t hurt to go ask around.” He handed the photo back to Keefe and continued walking. “What do you plan to do at the square?” Lasair wrapped his coat around himself a little tighter. The air wasn’t pleasant.

"Well I just thought I would go there and ask around. I figured that's where everyone would be and I would have the best chance to find her there." Keefe said as he took the photo back. "I have to thank you very much for helping me. I've only been here a short time and I've already got lost twice." Keefe smiled laughing at himself a bit.

“Ah it’s not a problem. I do enjoy helping people out.” Lasair grinned a moment before taking the boy’s arm in his own as they walked. “So Keefe, where are you from? I’ve traveled around quite a lot and chances are I may know where you’re from.” He continued to grin as he spoke, knowing his charm would at least be noticed.
