Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Standing at the gates, ever on vigil, are the palace guards - dressed to the 9's in their finest frivol Between the pair, balanced on a podium written on sparkling confetti are the citizen names: every one all you need to do, in order to participate is step up to the podium and draw out a name. tis the season that whomever you get, is who you gift and whomever gets you, will gift you too! How this works is, you write your character approaching the gate, and drawing a name. When a member of Admin team (ANY member of ADMIN team) see's that you have participated in the event, they will message you FROM the ADMIN account (so all other admins know who's gotten a message yet or not) and your character will be given the name of another character participating in the event
So to ensure a decent surprise, everyone should try joining as soon as possible or all at once Not only are you participating in the written part of your character buying, stealing, or making a gift for you secret Santa recipient - and giving it to them.... there is an art portion too!!! You can draw them a gift art - or draw a scene from the RP with their character in it
Mulven had been walking past the gate for days, eyeballing that bowl of confetti, wondering what the chances were if he drew out a name - that it would be hers. He hadn't spoken to her ever since she moved out of his place and into that pub she runs. There was never an official relationship between them but it still felt something like a breakup to have her go away so completely. Finally he stopped wondering what his chances were and took them: He walked up to the jar stuck his hand in and fished out a name before he started to think too hard on it. With a piece of the shiny paper in his hand he shuffled quickly along the street, counting to ten before he turned it over and read what it said...
Rava was walking past the gate, she had heard that this gate that its a challenge for to get a gift for this festive time of year from someone if you give a gift for someone from a name from a peace of paper , something she was not used to since most of her past Christmas was mostly being the Grinch and the 1st year whiles she was here was a lonely one .... she already had plans to get mulven something... she has not see him in a while and she missed him.... just moving out was more for his safety encase anyone else came hunting her for the old bounty until she was secure and had the money to guarantee a future with him.... . she decided she had some spear money left over from the salty dog , maybe a good deed would be good as she approached the bowl and reached in to pull out one of the names , she turned away and read what it said. ...
Zona had heard of this 'Secret Santa' before but had no clues as to what it was, for Zona, she thought is was about this 'Santa' guy to be all secretive and hiding somewhere and that you needed to find the guy. Well today was the day she was going to find out. As she walked up to the gates she noticed a large bowl with a bunch of paper in it, curious she walked up and looked at it, not in just at the bowl. She thought for a minute that these must be clues as to where this guy was hiding, so she reached her hand in and grabbed one of the papers. She didn't want to go and look for this guy right now so she stuck the paper in her pocket and walked off thinking this could be an interesting game.

A Secret Santa! What a splendid idea! Iacomus had taken part in a few of these as a teenager. Fond memories of Christmas festivities washed over his mind, and he approached the gate. With a twist of his thin wrist, dove his bony fingers into the bowl of sparkling shards of paper and pulled out one clasped tightly between two dark-painted nails. A small skip found it's way into his cheerful strides as he waked away, unfolding the slip to reveal who it was he was in charge of retrieving a gift for.
Eryn was look around the city in its white snowy state when she saw the gate and ran over to it, she did not know what was going on but she was people pulling out things from a bowl and walking away , it looked fun as she approached the bowl and took one and looked at it, it was a peace of paper with something drawn on it , she looking in a bit confusion as she look around " excuse me? , anyone? , what does this symbol mean and what does it say " she said waving the peace of paper in her hand around to get the attention for help.
(yep Eryn joining in and yet she cant read )

Andronikos was in a bad mood, but that wasn't saying much, as he usually was. He stormed along silently, brooding, almost as if a plume of smoke could be bellowing out of his head. In his quiet rage, something caught his glance out of the corner of his eye, something festive, it looked like. It was that season, wasn't it? Of course. Dandy. Christmastime was never something he enjoyed either, and his already-crummy mood found itself falling even more. But it didn't seem to be just decorations as he had written it off to be. A 'Secret Santa'? The heck was that? He moved closer to investigate, glaring at the guards in order to portray to them that he was not to be tangled with. They seemed not to react, which was a relief, if he were to be honest. So it seemed that whatever name he pulled out of the container he would have to get a gift for, and whoever got his name would have to get one for him. He was about to turn around, grumbling about how 'stupid' it was, but curiosity took over, and he found himself reaching into the sea of sparkling papers and pulling out one. His anger was forgotten somewhat as he unfolded the slip.

Well wasn't this an interesting turn of events! Iacomus was at a loss as to what the person on his slip might like, but anticipated figuring something out. But what could be done? Nothing he could make would be of interest to them, he was sure, so then what could he buy? Everybody likes chocolates or sweets so that was out of the question. It had to be as original as possible. He walked along, as he pondered, towards the merchants district, running the shops through his mind.

Jasper had been skipping across town for most of the day today, not because he was exceptionally happy or anything of that sort, but because it was absolutely freezing outside today and the snow that had began to cover the ground was not helping at all. As he hopped about he noticed the palace gates and how festive they seemed today. Normally, Jasper loved the holidays and the celebrations that came with but this was different. The Queen's Palace was something he had regarded with fear and awe; between its massive stone walls and its dark metal gates, he saw it more as a prison than a place of royalty. Still his curiosity seemed to get the best of him and, as if compelled by some unknown force, he approached the fancily decorated gates. He watched as a few citizens stepped in and walked right back out with something shiny in their palms. With a shrug he decided he would try it too. He walked to the podium, reached his hand in and pulled out one of the silvery slips. He walked out the gates with the slip in hand; he would look at it later.

Caitlin had almost missed one of her favorite events of the year. Secret Santa held a special magic for her, the idea that no matter your status, species, or gender, every member of the city was worthy of giving and and receiving something special. She never minded too much what she ended up with on her door step the day of, but got a thrill out of the opportunity to provide something nice to someone else. Her favorite years were the ones she drew a childs name from the hovel, or an elderly retired in the merchants district who didn't get nearly as many visitors as they should after their lifetime of services.... Finding them in front of the gates on Christmas eve was exciting and she loved making someones day special. It was a childlike joy, and grown or not, she embraced it.
She reached into the jar, withdrew a name, and scurried off to the merchants district to fade into the crowd of Christmas shoppers. She needed to hurry or she'd be giving a gift late this year!
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
After the citizens had their chance to join in the annual gift-giving game, the guards packed away and locked up the podium and its glittering contents for another year. In the days that followed, those who played along would return to deliver their gifts on Christmas eve in front of the gates, delivering what they wrapped to the person who's name they claimed.
*All RP's on this thread from here forward are for those involved in the gift exchange only. They are welcome to play out what they've gifted as well as how they find the person they give it to. It is customary to meet at the gate on Christmas eve, and exchange surprise gifts. Admin team messaged you the name that you drew, keep it secret till you see them arrive at the gate too, and you may decide how to approach them to deliver your gift.

After Zona asked around and found out that this 'Secret Santa' isn't about finding some guy named Santa but was about giving a gift to a random person who's name you had to draw from the bowl over by the front gates. After she read the name of who she got, her mind began to spin as to what she was going to get this person. After about a week or so of thinking what to get she final thought of it, and off to the town she went to get it.
As she walked around the gift she was looking to get was a bit... out of her price range, so as she when in the store she walked around a bit found a less expensive one grabbed that, along with the one she was planning on getting. When no one was around or looking she quickly, quietly, and with no one to notice, slipped it off to the side and hid it away in her side bag. She then went to the front desk and paid for the cheaper one and left before anyone ever noticed the other was missing.
The day had finally come where everyone gathered and exchanged the gifts they got, made, or... barrowed for an extended about of time that may or may not be returned. Zona walked to the front gate, sat down on a nearby bench and waited for her person to come by.

This was the most nervous he'd ever been preparing a gift for someone. He could have gotten her anything, but he wasn't sure what the right something would be. Everything didn't exactly narrow it down for him. He showed up Christmas eve at the palace gates, a box in hand with yellow wrapping paper and a red ribbon. He rocked back and forth on his heels, and kept checking his pocket watch, wondering when she'd arrive. Others were milling around, searching the growing crowd for their secret Santa's, and the excitement could be felt in there air. Exclamations and yelps of surprise, joy, and laughter was everywhere. It was a dazzling sight, especially with the row of bulbs buzzing big and fat and decidedly seasonal on the top of the gates. some lights popped and went out, probably because of anders in the area, but everyone ignored that fact. Today was not the day to be negative or at war with neighbors.

Iacomus was unsure of the interests of the person he had drawn, besides, possibly, the things he had spot them done for their occupation. What didn't require any prior knowledge, however, was the person's physical appearance, and the sort of attire they enjoyed wearing. He chuckled as an idea sparked in his mind, and he sped off to purchase that.
He arrived at the gift-giving ceremony and spotted the person for whom he had bought a gift from afar, beginning to walk over.
Rava had to act as she did get someone she didn't like the sound of , she spent the past few days finding out about her secret Santa as well as another 2 days picking up the right gift , she didn't put a lot of effort into it like she did for Mulven's Gift which took a long while to make , this gift she used some of her homeland knowledge to get.
she waited at the ceremony , just out of eye shot so she can just give the gift , then walk away , find Mulven and take him somewhere privet for his gift. she didn't want to mess up and end up with this person think too much as long as she did what was needed she would be fine , and after all it was not the time be a odds with a person for who they work for.
