Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to Stephen Leland and takes place before his wedding. This thread will explain how Lasair got invited. Lasair strolled into a small bar, taking a deep breath of alcohol-smelling air, and walked through the place to the counter. It was early evening and not many people were in the bar quite yet. He flashed a smile to any and all on-lookers and took a seat next to a redheaded man. The man in question was wearing an eye patch and had a grumpy expression on his face. He also didn’t have a drink in front of him. Now, that wouldn’t due. No one could be grumpy around Lasair, it just wasn’t allowed. He tapped the man on the shoulder and smiled at him before speaking. “You seem to be troubled by something. Let me buy you a drink. You can forget your worries and relax tonight." He waved at the bartender and ordered two shots of whiskey, keeping one for himself and handing the other to the man next to him with a smile.

Tonight had not been a good night. Not only had one of the CAEsAL members messed up a mission, but they managed to get themselves killed in the process. The tired noble had spent the rest of the day cleaning up the fiasco. This only added to the pressure of his upcoming wedding, looming over him like some hungry animal. Not that was upset about the event; to be honest, he was looking forward to it. The thought of messing up the happy day worried him the most. As he was going through a list in his head of what was still needed for the wedding, some random bloke sat next to him, interrupting his thoughts.
The gall of this man. The stranger did not even know him and here he was, ordering him a drink. Giving him the once over, he placed the man into the category 'not worth my time.' Though he was dressed quite fashionable and had excellent posture, the trained eye of the noble could tell he was not an aristocrat, most likely a middle class commoner at best. So, since the man had no connections, there was no benefit in being polite. The noble's frown deepened as he looked at the cheerful red head next to him. "I do not drink, Sir. So I would kindly ask that you leave me alone. If you do not, I can guarantee my next warning will not be as polite as the first" he sniffed with unmasked contempt.

Raising an eyebrow at the man, Lasair could only try to imagine what could have happened to the man to make him so grouchy. But he wouldn’t give up that easily, no, he would make sure this man had a good night. “Hey, I can see that you had a bad day, and I get that it can be hard to forget your worries, but you know, sometimes talking to a stranger can be just what you need.” He paused here and waved the bartender back over, ordering a glass of water for the man. “I insist that you relax at least a little bit,” he finished, smiling his trademark grin.

Why the hell did this man want to talk to him? The noble eyed the outgoing fellow with distrust. "Why must you be so set to bother me" he grumbled with a deep frown. "I highly doubt talking to random plebeians will lighten my mood. You seem far to eager to talk wiy The me.." The man was not trust worthy. The fellow seemed like he was.... up to something..

“Hey, just give me a chance. If you regret it, I’ll owe you a favor of your choice, how’s that sound?” Lasair smiled and offered his hand, hoping this attempt would work. “If you can’t put your worries onto a stranger, who can you put them on? It seems like you have quite a lot you’re stuck carrying around, after all.” If this didn’t work, Lasair may have to use another method to cheer this guy up…

Stephen sized up the man next to him. The guy was suspicious, but maybe he was just an overly friendly drunk. If he was bad meat, maybe a little conversation with him might surface some interesting facts. "Fine" he hissed "But I refuse to drink that liquid fire" he finished in a snide tone. Waving to the bartender, he ordered a scotch on rocks. Once receiving the drink, he swirled the liquid around in his glass, staring at it with a debating eye. With a sigh, he took a swig of the drink.

“I can respect a man’s taste,” he replied with a light smile and took a drink from his own glass. “So what’s troubling you so terribly?” he added with a raised eyebrow. The atmosphere in the bar was rather relaxed and quiet, a good mood for talking.
