Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Iacomus stepped in through the door of the shop with a giant, smug grin on his face, leaning on his umbrella with one hand as he looked around the odd place of market. He wandered around the shop, amused, until his eyes fell on Medical II, and he grabbed it off the shelf hungrily, but quickly stood up straight again as he held it in his boney fingers, looking around to make sure nobody saw his sudden outburst of greed. "It is silly of me, a doctor of sorts, to have forgotten some of the things I have learned. I really must brush up." He said to himself, the smile on his face pointing to the possibility that he might be planning something as he stared down at the item he had picked out. He then strutted over and placed it on the counter with a flick of his wrist. "I would like to purchase Medical II, please, dear merchant." He said as he took the 16 EMP out of his pocked and let them slip from his palm down his fingers onto the counter. With that, he took the Medical II, turned around with a twirl of his tail coat, and walked out, but not before stopping in the doorway and giving the skills merchant a tip of his hat in thanks.

Caitlin bid her time, waiting out the initial rush of customers the first few days the merchant set up shop. Even for those not interested in buying skills, he was still a foreign novelty from one of the other city states (no one really knew which he called home) and they would flock to him like curious creatures.
When she finally did go in, she went with a laundry list of aspirations.
"Hope your ledger isn't already full, I'd like to schedule three training sessions, for three skills." She passed him her list. On it were the following: SF III - 24 Deceit II- 16 Speed II- 16
He glanced at it then his eyes shot up at her. "That's an expensive order, mi'm," he inclined his head at her. She gave a foxy grin and dropped the coin on the table.
"Dont worry, sir, I can pay." But even the queen of Rogues had her limits. After all, she had a large guild to feed, and their spoils were what paid for their bread and board so it wasn't like she could keep all they pilfered for herself. Quite the opposite actually.
Caitlin left the shop broke but satisfied with her scheduled training sessions for the skills she put on the books.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

Danny dipped into the shop quick and easy. He knew what he wanted, he knew where to get it. He wove his way through the throng of people exploring the man's wares and dropped the tome he'd been carrying onto the counter.
"This. Necromancy II." The man quirked a brow skeptically but smiled none the less. This boy had shown him a different use for necromancy, so what did it hurt if he continued on this path?
"I'll schedule you for this evening at about... eight?" The boy simply nodded and disappeared.
This was the first time Zona had ever been in a place like this. Zona walked about glancing at everything, there was so much that she wanted but as she looked down at the Europium in her hand... 34. Something that caught her eye right away was Bows II, quickly she grabbed it, happy that she found something she could use. As she looked around more she saw UC I and Speed I, once again happy she found something she could use.
As she walked up to the counter she set the 3 things down on the counter:
Bows II- 16 Europium
UC I- 8 Europium
Speed- 8 Europium
"I want these." Zona said as she held out 32 Europium, she then set them on the counter gathered her 3 things and headed out the door.
Badger: The cuss you are. Mr. Fox: The cuss am I? Are you cussing with me? Badger: No, you cussing with me? Mr. Fox: Don't cussing point at me! Badger: If you're gonna cuss with somebody, you're not gonna cuss with me, you little cuss! Mr. Fox: You're not gonna cuss with me! -Fantastic Mr.Fox (2009)
Like he did with everyone who tried to leave the merchants shop with material, he stopped the tattoo'd woman before she reached the door.
"Now now sweetheart, thats not how it works." He gingerly collected the tomes from her hands and nodded her back to the counter. "You pay to be taught the skills in these bindings, I dont give them out, each tome is one of a kind and that is what makes my business one of a kind." He took out his datebook and a quill. "When, morning or evening are you free outside of business hours?" He concealed the names already on the ledger but offered her what openings he had. "Show up here at that time," He told her after they had scheduled, "And I or one of my associates specializing in your desired craft, will train you up to the level you have paid for."

There was hesitation in the friendly giant as he made his way into the skills shop. Once he worked up the nerves to enter, his eyes were allowed to roam like that of a child surrounded by magical things--though one could argue that is what these tomes were. Making his way to the counter, he sets his pouch onto the counter with a gentleness one might not expect of him then politely says, "Please, I would like to purchase skills in Telekenisis I and II as well as Unhanded Combat I and Terramancy I, sir."

Solemnly the youth enters the shop, his usual gait gone, his smile not present, his piercings removed, and his attire normal. All and all, he did not look usual at all. Stepping up to the counter, he drops a light coin pouch onto the counter. "I'd like purchase Vehicles II. Please," he adds on as an afterthought, voice quiet as though his mind was elsewhere. 16 emp

Today was the day! She would finally learn the proper techniques in how to use her twin blades as her father had before. With barely kept excitement, she strolled her way into the shop, placed her 24 EMP onto the counter and smiled to the man. "Swordfighting III, if I could possibly schedule a session, please." 24 emp
Clairee tiptoed into the shop and eeped when she bumped somebody. She excused herself and shrank back against the wall waiting for customers to clear out a bit. She felt weird being here, she was so paranoid someone would recognize her as the donya boys little sister, and that would be bad for Adel if they did - him being a soldier and her buying spells you know...
but of course neither her brothers nor herself were that notoriously known and everyone was too eager to make their own purchases to care about hers. when she reached the front counter she slid her hard earned allowance money across the tabletop. Yeah - she earned an allowance, how else was she to save up money??
"Frostmancy II, please," She whispered, and he made her repeat herself a little louder just to be clear. Soon as he marked her in the books for an evening training session she escaped the building and slank home meek as a mouse.
Amon rushed into the store, hoping that he was on time. With all that was happening in Lodan, he realized that he needed more to defend himself. Amon made his way to the counter and got the merchant's attention.
"I have an interesting request for ya: I need Medical I for my clockwork doll Abby, Traps I for my clockwork doll Abe, and Unarmed Combat I for myself," he said, sliding the 24 EMP to the merchant.
