Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
That is an excellent question, and one I needed to think carefully on before deciding on the answer!
Since projections are immune to physical attacks, it was decided that magical attacks would be their weakness. Meaning, if anykind of magic is used on a projection, the projection spell will end and the spirit return to the body it came from. It could be deceit, telekinesis, pyromancy, necromancy, or any kind of magical skill. Any skill tree spell will make projections go away.
With deceit itself, there's a chance that the projection feels the effects; i.e. being confused for a moment, however shortly after that, the projection will be sent back to the body it came from. I'm going to add a note on the magic tree about that, and thank you for asking
So, I was thinking hard about this and I understand that Anders affect tech, but how exactly do they affect it? Do circuits don't cross, or do gears get jammed? What is considered tech? Does it have something to deal with electricity, metal, or fire or would hand cranked object work around them? Sorry for so many questions, Part of this may have already been addressed but I'm stuck on the farm and can't check. ;-;

Take a look at THIS THREAD and it should help you understand. If you still have more questions after reading, feel free to come back here and ask them

If the mechanism has complex moving parts with the potential to be automated or semi-automated, or can be programmed/wired, it can be considered tech. This definition is fairly fluid, but for the most part, should cover eveything in the tech tree as well as any tech not listed in the tree.
As for hand cranked, it depends; for example, if the mechanism is a gear box and can only move via hand crank and nothing else (like springs for instance), then it is not considered tech (like Amon's gift to Edel)
If you still have questions, feel free to message me.

Hi! New guy here! Before I start going and posting my profile. I would like to ask two questions.
The idea I had for a character is that said character is from Khaliel, which I assume is based on Dubai correct me if I am wrong. Can I give him a more middle eastern named (Like Hassan) or should I stick to a Victorian name?
The second question is there a skill relating to Athletics? The idea I had for the character requires him to do some minor parkouring skills (For now at least).
"I am Khamsin the Ethersquall. You would do well to remember the name!"
Hello Khamsin! I'm not sure where Khaliel is (in regards to the map) but we can create the place! You can talk to me about that or the other guild leaders. Also, you can have a middle eastern name— nothing wrong with that. That is perfectly alright!
The skill relating to athletics is a bit broad, but for parkour it is perhaps best for unarmed combat so that you can level up and be justified for your increased skill with something already already part of the skill tree.

Adding more on that: you don't strictly need a Skill from the skill trees to know parkour. However, if you do want to have a skill to auxiliate/maximize his parkour atletics, then Unharmed Combat (UC) is indeed a good starting choice.

Question. Can Anders be found all around the world or are they only in Lodan? I was under the impression that Anders specifically came through a portal in lodan that was eventually shut off, which i would guess means the there are no anders in other countries, though on the other hand i believe there have been a few generations since then? Could they have gone to other countries and made colonies there or other portals of a smaller calibre have appeared in other countries? It seems like a shame to limit anderswetlers to English origins only.
Edit: Especially since a few people, myself included, have made ander origins that are outside the country, IE: Vieka's mother was from Delhi, an Indian equivalent land.

Most andersweltlers are located in Lodan, due to both it being the location they initially fled to from the Lost World and also because although Lodan is still riddled with prejudice towards them it's still by no means as radical towards it as the other countries, where anything non-human gets labeled as witches, demons, vampires, etc.
There can be anders in other nations, yes, but they're a very tiny minority, and mostly very well-hidden. The same can be said about shadow beasts too. Most of them are found in Lodan's borders, the Forest and the Vineyard - but a few stray within the very city limits, and another few might have strayed far into other nations as well.

You might want to clarify your question. Assuming that you are being literal (i.e. you character is a mechanical wolf), then the answer is no, as there are already set races you can become.
However, you can build mechanical wolves for yourself, provided you choose to be a human...
