Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Marcus and Stephen turned to look at the stage. Stephen had told Marcus that they had cleaned Mae up so he could use that as an excuse for not recognizing her; but this... She was practically a new person now. Marcus's mouth hung open in shock "My God.. She's beautiful... What did you guys do to here?!? Did you hit her on the head or something?? I have never heard her sing a day in my life! I hope you did not harm a hair on her head, for your sake" Marcus said, getting in a big huff. Stephen looked down at his hand which had just been tapped by Marcus. His friends hand gave him a thumbs up. Stephen restrained the urge to roll his eyes, glad the bartender could not see below the counter. The sly fellow wanted to meet Mae now too.
Ikuze could barely control her laughter as the two men dragged each other out of the club, focusing instead on listening to Maeve's singing. As the song came to a close she gave a decent amount of applause alongside the crowd, even throwing in a few whistles of her own. Out of the corner of her eye she could see that Stephen and his friend had returned. Hmm... should I mess with him a little more? she mused, smirking a little before she made her way towards the stage. "You think you can take a crack at one more before this lot storm the stage?" asked the thief with a chuckle, tilting her head towards the obviously enraptured crowd.
After Maeve's answer, Ikuze gave a nod to the pianist and the band, her fingers forming an L shape for a brief moment to signal which song. "Just think snow if you don't know it." offered the thief quietly so only Maeve could hear as the piano softly began the melody, Ikuze taking the first set of lines. The lighting crew got the hint for the song almost immediately and began to gently pour those sequin things through the lights to create a glistening effect on the stage.

Well Maeve wasn't going anywhere, she was strung so tightly into this dress and standing so tall on this soap box that she couldn't walk off if she wanted to. The music started, the other singer keyed the intro and the stage team dropped the imaginary snow. She smiled and lifted her hands like she could catch it, but then felt stupid for trying after wards. Maeve caught the chorus but thats all she needed to sing a nice harmony.

After they finished the song Marcus clapped loudly, whistling and hooting. "That's ma girl!" he laughed excitedly, throwing his arm around Stephen. Stephen applauded politely, ignoring the eager man. They were really good but he did not care for the place they were performing in. They had a plan but he just wanted to leave now since he had the information he wanted. But he had promised Marcus he would introduce him to Ikuze. A tired sigh escaped his lips.

Alex was checking his nails for dirt before the music started, which prompted him to put on his glove as he watches the girl stretch into the sky. Poor thing looked like a gutted dear. The thought gives him a sly smirk that's concealed within the shadows. The male places an elbow on the table, and props his cheek on his knuckles as he watches the show, hopping for something TRUELY entertaining to happen.

When the number came to an end the room roared with cheers and applause. Maeve couldn't help but wonder if any of them even realized it was mid-summer and they'd just finished a piece about winter... and snow... She shrugged and gazed at the girl with the black hair.
"Well done, I'll have to learn that one for this Christmas," she told her. The curtain dropped at last and Maeve shimmied up the skirt of her dress to knee height so she could step off the box. She couldn't barely breathe in this thing. She wasn't very big for a women, especially a bouncer, but even her skinny butt felt like a tube of toothpaste in this gown.
"Can I change now?" she asked Sade who had approached from behind the drawn curtain.
"Sure, but would you like to see your boyfriend first? He came looking for you." Maeve blinked at him, turned her face to Ikuze, assuming he meant her. "No not her, you. A man out there claims he knows you." Maeve turned back to Sade in shock.
"You 'ave got to be kidding me," She growled, unamused. "I aint never had nor wanted a boyfriend a'fore so whoever 'e is, I dun'know 'em." Her crappy accent was back, her streets aura kicking in and her attitude going back into defensive mode. A moment ago she'd been a lady, now, she was a thug from the hovel again. Sade rolled his eyes but said he'd deal with it. He turned to leave, waving his hand toward the back stairs that led to the dressing room on the second story. Maeve tippy-toed over to it in the too-tight dress and carefully made her way upstairs to put back on her street clothes.
Ten minutes later she emerged on the floor and blended into the crowd, or so she thought... but immediately people recognized her clean face framed by silky hair, and seemed willing to overlook her wardrobe in their eagerness to congratulate her and ask her name and where she'd worked before or why they've never heard of her till now.

When the bartender came back Marcus brightened "When can I see my girl again? Are you done with her? I want to take her to a nice restaurant as a congratulations. Hey, bud, you think you could help pay for desert?" he asked Stephen, clapping him on the shoulder. The noble rolled his eyes but pulled out his wallet anyways. The man always spend all his money taking girls out on dates. He owed him some money for the information anyways. Handing a few coins over Marcus grinned thankfully at him then turned back to look at the entrance, craning his neck looking for her "So where is she? Stop hogging the love of my life."
"I like doing it in the summer. Easier to cool down if you're thinking cold." said Ikuze with a smile at her duet partner before blinking as Sade addressed the red head. "Hey don't look at me... already bumped into my fiancé tonight so, can't be me." she said, noting the change in her attitude. "Eh, may wanna get outta the dress then if you're gonna kick his face in." she chuckled, walking behind her in case she fell in that get-up. She got changed into her own street clothes, keeping the wig on of course, stuffing the cabaret costume into a compartment on her guitar case. Once they returned down the stairs, she slipped past Maeve's adoring fans with a smirk. "Enjoy~" she called over to her with a chuckle as she made her way towards the bar for a well-earned drink... aaaand maybe to apologise to Stephen for her little prank earlier.

Stephen looked up to see Ikuze approaching the bar. Instantly he resisted the urge to scowl at her. Maybe she was coming back to mess with him again. He would not even let her have that chance. "Looks like she gave you the slip, chap. Give it up. Come on" he said in a hurry, grabbing Marcus's arm and dragging him away. They met Ikuze half way. Stephen put on a huge smile and reached up to brush a lock of her hair out of way. As he did he tugged on it lightly so that she would get the message that he knew she was wearing a wig. "Hello darling! That was a splendid performance! I would love to take you out on the town to celebrate but alas I am a bit busy so I will leave you here in this fine gentleman's keep. I promised my father in law that I would go and have a chat with him and I am a man of my word" he said in an overly chipper voice.
Marcus chuckled nervously at Stephen's weird behavior "Ah.. if ya didn't here before ma name's Marcus! It's a pleasure ta make yer acquaintance! Yer boyfriend said it's okay that I borrow ya fer the afternoon so I hope yer okay with that!" Stephen kept the pleasant smile on his face, resisting the urge to clock Marcus in the face when he put an obvious emphasis on the word 'boyfriend.' Also he was tense enough so that if Ikuze tried any of her nonsense on him again he would run away. There were a few possible situations to come out of this: Ikuze would get forced into a date; Marcus would get punched by Ikuze; Marcus would get beat to a living pulp for saying he was Mae's boyfriend. They were all likeable situations in his mind.

Maeve felt a little claustrophobic with all the people crowding in on her. The last time people had been this eager to get close to her, the bar was on fire and they were actually running past her like a stampede to get outside. "Whoa whoa whoa, where is the fire people, lemme breathe," she crowed. Maeve backed away till she was against the wall. a few patrons had the good sense to see she was uncomfortable and they left her alone for the time being. Someone pushed a card into her hand and said "call me". She looked down. There was no business on it, just an address and the name "BUZZ" like hell she'd be making a call to his place. She dropped the card like it stung her. Her eyes lifted looking for the exit and she found the other singer. She was closer, so Maeve hustled to her side, looking for someone familiar to rub elbows with until she reached the door and slipped out for the night. She'd had more than enough excitement and needed time to think.

Stephen noticed Mae slid up next to Ikuze all in a fluster. Well this would turn out better than he expected. Brilliant. "Ah look, your girlfriend decided to join us Marcus!" he said with a smirk, clapping the man on the back. Marcus looked up at Mae with a surprised look in his eyes "Ah, great to see you dear! I couldn't be prouder of you! Why haven't you ever told me you could sing?!? Where they nice to you? Did they force you to do anything? I will give then a right straight talkin' to if they messed with ya." Marcus instantly popped back into the concerned boyfriend role, not really knowing what he was doing. He certainly enjoyed playing the part. He also tended to babble when he was nervous, which was what he was currently doing. "You look great Mae- not that you didn't look great before I'm just saying." Stephen was somewhat surprised that Marcus had remembered all the details he told him before their plan. Marcus certainly went all into his roles...
Ikuze raised an eyebrow at Stephen's actions and words, then even more so at this Marcus fellows. "It was just a routine gig dear, nothing special." she said with a shrug before rolling her eyes at his comment about the father-in-law, although she was gritting her teeth. "Just make it a quick chat alright?" she half-growled before she caught herself forming a fist and tried to calm herself down. "Oh he did did he?" said the thief, throwing Stephen a look. When Mae came over she went to give the girl a quick hug for comfort support. "Seems you got yourself quite the fanbase now." she chuckled before tapping on the counter with a nod to the bartender.
She leaned over to Stephen a little when Marcus began to chat up Mae. "Eh, sorry about earlier. Couldn't resist." she whispered before eyeing Marcus. "I give him a minute tops before Mae decks him. Wager?" asked Ikuze, fully meaning money, although knowing Stephen's twisted mind he'd come up with something else... When the drinks came around the thief passed one over to Mae before taking a sip of her own.

Mae wasn't one to show surprise on her face when she felt it, but there were a few instances that warranted exception. This was one of them.
So... he was the proclaimed "boyfriend" Sade had been talking about. She listened to his whole tirade with false calm, right up until the drinks Ikuze ordered came sliding across the bar. She reached for hers, pressed her lips into a flat line, swung the glass with all her might and broke it upside the mans head. The sound of fractured glass got the attention of the nearest patrons and Mae had the fleeting concern of whether or not she would lose her new job over this.
"Worth it," she muttered before grabbing the dazed man by the collar (now soaked with something alcoholic) and proceeded to drag him toward the exit.

Stephen watched Marcus babble on in silence. At Ikuze's words he just snorted, rubbing the cheek that she kissed some with an embarrassed/annoyed look on his face. At he later comment he smirked some and leaned a little towards her as he watched Marcus make a fool of himself "I have faith he might last over a minute. Just look at the expression on her face- she is far to calm about this." With a slight chuckle her turned his gaze over to Ikuze for a moment "Actually he was here just to see you, but he seems to have a thing for Mae now as well. He is such a fool" he shook his head, a frown on his face again.
What happen next exceeded Stephen's expectations. Marcus was equally in shock when he got a drink to the head. He was too dazed and surprised to complain as she dragged him out. Stephen could not help but let out a loud laugh. He quickly covered his mouth to conceal this utter amusement. It was about time some girl smashed a drink over that overly proud flirt's head. Mae was automatically on his good list right then and there.
Ikuze laughed her head off when Mae smashed her drink into the man's head. She looked over at Stephen with a triumphant smirk. "Victory is mine~" she cooed. She snickered a little before leaning over to Stephen's ear. "See, that's when you've gotta be careful around girls like her. Mouth off like that and they're calm? Nine times outta ten, you'll wind up beat up worse than if they had been pissed off." informed the thief. Might as well give the poor noble some kind of education about the "fairer" sex.
