Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"Robotics III."

The Skills Merchant was in town once again, so Edelweiss figured it was also about time she paid a visit and improved her abilities as well. She supressed an involuntary chuckle as she spotted Amon running in front of her and excitedly slamming his own money in front of the Merchant, and then waited for the two to finish their own business and the mechanic to gain some distance again before placing 32 EMP of her own over the balcony. "Speed II and UC II please."
Jak fished through his pockets and pulled out a measley handful of EPM. He frowned down at it and siged, counting out the 16 EMP he would need, shaking his head at how very little trained magic he actually knew. He strolled up to the vendor and placed his coins down, one by one, a little sad to part with them. "Frostmancy II, please."

Maeve walked into the establishment with irritation. She should be happy, she finally earned enough coin to buy herself a bit of education, but she still resented the fact that she never could before and had to learn her only pre-existing skill on her own. Took her AGES! Probably thrice as long as the pocketbooks who paid for what they knew. Anyway now was her chance to be one of them. She walked up to the counter and slapped her 8 EMP on the top as if it wasn't all she had (which of course it was, but who needed to know?)
"CW I, sometime during the day, I work evenings and gotta upgrade my skillsets if Im going to keep tossin' folks outta facilities in the theater district." TMI? Possibly, but she doubted anyone was paying her attention anyway. So long as she got what she paid for what else did it matter?

Tearing down things never went as quickly as building them up did... or at least was the case for Mulven. Most people complained building was too much work and tare down was a push and shove easier when you didn't care what it looked like as long as it was done.
To make that process easier (and for other reasons he didn't need to share with anyone out-loud) he'd decided to visit the merchant today.
"Demolitions I, Mulven Renehan," He waited till the man added him to his date book for training. Then he plopped the 8 coins on the tabletop next to the register. "thank you kindly," Mulven added with a smile and grinned the whole way back out the door, his hands in his pockets and his plans on his mind.

She had to wait for all the tinkerers to clear out of course, but once they did Cait approached the desk and feigned a flirtatious air, leaning over the counter and whispering to the merchant. He leaned forward with a patient smile, as though he'd seen this trick too many times to count. "16 Europium - for Health II please" After having one of her recent trials end in blood, she realized she might want to power up on this branch. He nodded and grabbed his pen, pausing when it came to filling in her name in the blank. "Caitlin Cockfoster" she said a little louder and leaned back. No point in hiding her name. People usually recognized her anyway. The only thing she needed to conceal was her purchase and for all the years he'd been doing business in this town he'd never sacrificed his customer confidentiality. Once he gave her a date and time to arrive for training she offered a smile and farewell and left without looking back.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
Ikuze fumed slightly as she found herself being escorted this time around to the Skills Merchant by her grand-father's maid. Apparently now she had to keep up even more appearances, which meant she had to learn some things that a child of nobility should know, such as fencing. Unfortunately, his library didn't hold any tomes on the subject, hence why she was now here. Linda was just there to make sure she behaved herself. "I'll buy that Sword Fighting I book please." she said to the merchant before making sure she couldn't be heard as Linda perused some tomes of her own. "And that Deceit II as well." said the thief turning noble quietly. Got to keep some secrets after all. The merchant just looked amused as he collected the EMP and handed her the goods.
Stephen walked in and went straight to the front "Unarmed Combat II" was all he simply said. Once he gave his 16 EMP's and recived the skill, he left without another word.
