Need audio files for the opening 'backstory' animation
that I'm *trying* to work on.
If you would like to, please record yourself reading the following "script" and message me a link to said audio file (if you can only send via email let me know and I'll give you an addy to send to)
Lodan is a city built on technology and powered by steam. City of endless possibilities, a playground for merchants, inventors, engineers and visionaries alike. However, in this powerful place lies another race, called "Andersweltlers" hailing from another realm, seeking safe refuge when their world was destroyed by a terrifying force. In desperation, their most powerful mages opened a portal to the nearest safe haven. The portal chose Lodan, much to the distaste of Humans upon being invaded.
The invasion caused an uproar, Humans refused to share their city with these strange beings, despite their human-like appearances. For 50 years, battles were fought, Humans & Andersweltlers only halted attacks on each other to fend off a mutual adversary known as the shadow beasts. United against the shadows, they shared a tumultuous treaty for fifty years while the city operated in a diverse culture ruled by one queen and revolving around a system of 10 guilds: secret societies of
assassins,
engineers,
entertainers,
historians,
hunters,
mages,
merchants,
military ,
pirates,
and thieves
Until the Queen went missing and Civil War erupted, causing great losses. In its wake the city mourned, Stumbling on survivors mustered their courage and banned together with one common goal. To rebuild, bigger, stronger, safer guilds.
The merchants and the mechanics joined in unity as Mingo's Merchanics.
The entertainers and assassins band together under the Crafters Artisans and Entertainers Association of Lodan.
The pirates and thieves unified their numbers as one Brotherhood of Rogues.
The magicians spawned a new, bringing the historians into their fold in a secret society known as the Magicae Incolentium.
Even the hunters were absorbed into the military as it was once again reborn as the Ebony and Ivory Royal Army of Lodan.
It's still a dog eat dog world out there and every Faction and Guild are fighting for power because at the end of the proverbial day, this world is still run by a monarchy and they have a temp filling in for the crown.
