Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

She-or he..- must be the leader. Or at least a very skilled assassin. He could tell by the respectful looks the other CAEsAL members were giving the redhead. Stephen could not help but smirk as As-Nas's comment. He respectfully turned his head to the side when As-Nas went to change, busying himself by quietly studying the redhead boyish-girl. When As-Nas suggested they leave he nodded his head in agreement. Yaaay!!!! Epikuro's here!

Epikuro noticed Triune's behavior while he was, aparently, studying her (be it her appearence or skills). Ah, an analytical type; she couldn't say she disliked it. So far so good, now lets just see how (and if) the new boys could hold their drinks - this was proving to be a profitable day. She glanced at him and gave a small nod along that half-smile once again, acknowledging his presence, but as he had not said anything to her she didn't speak to him for now either. She gave Matches and Regis a sympathetic pat on the back; oh yes, that was why she didn't bet money on recruiting - never get the gold, but never lose it either and in the end she'd gain free drinks anyway. After As-Nas was fully dressed in his proper clothes, she still took a good look on the third recruit and then turned to open passage while they all headed upstairs towards the backstage. Yush. Good to see Stephen too!

Addison was not much of a drinker to be honest and why he'd agreed to go was for lack of better things to do. He contemplated still whether he would actually drink or not but this was an opportune moment to see what exactly it was he landed himself into. If they thought he was just a man who hunted criminals they would sourly be mistaken, no, Addison was crueler than that but these were things they did not need to know and something he needed to be cautious against or else he would wind up much like the men and woman slain tonight. Adjusting his gloves and taking up his cane he went to follow the red haired Epikuro up the stairs. "Does this place house a bar as well or is that in a separate building all together?" He wouldn't be surprised really. Many theaters he'd come across when travelling with the circus had bars in which people could by light beers or wines to sip on throughout a show and this place housed a room for assassin and murderers to meet so why wouldn't it? Then again, if too much went on in one place it might lead to complications.

Stephen followed the group to the destination, sticking more towards the back so he could take in everything. Epikuro, from what Stephen had deducted so far, was most likely a woman, but he was not 100% positive. She obviously was a skilled assassin, this he could tell by how she moved; her movements were graceful and silent, the exact posture every assassin longed for. She would make a very beneficial alley he concluded. As would most of the people in this guild but he trusted none of them so he was not planning on getting all buddy-buddy with them anytime soon. He was just going to buy Regis a drink as thanks, Addison one to get on his good side and possible Epikuro one as well. Once that task was complete, he would leave for home. Getting drunk and loosing his ability to think properly was not a very appealing aspect when surrounded by a group of murderers- or at anytime at all to be frank.

"The Theater District houses many bars, to appease all tastes from fancy to casual. As for the theater in itself, no (I like the idea that all personnel will be reasonably sober during their jobs or while 'welcoming' newcomers), but there's a decent place in the proximities." She told, speaking to all of them when As-Nas asked if there was a bar right there. Her tone was casual and friendly, a relaxed smile gracing her lips, but subtly low that though common people wouldn't notice just being more than a couple meters away from her turned really hard to know what she was saying. Her feet took her towards a small but neat establishment, the entrance a polished door with a frosted glass window, and she stepped aside with a hand raised - waiting for the group to pass before herself. A small bell rang while they entered. "Choose a table, or the balcony if you will. The bartender is with us, but keep the clients in mind and don't get too drunk." Which to her personal opinion varied among people but in her own person meant not getting drunk at all. One could find the web of information around could be really handy for their own purposes, but no sane soul would enjoy having it used against them.

Addison followed along quietly while she explained herself of her desire for her employees to remain sober within the theaters and of the bars. "I see," he commented quietly as they were brought to the doors of the bar they would be inhabiting and then ushered inside. Inside, he took in the seen of people then turned to Epikuro and Stephen. "If you two would be so kind to find us the seats, I am going to wash and then I will join you," he said before turning on his heels and making his way for the washroom. He kept his head down until he was safely inside then withdrew a cloth from his coat to wet under the facet before removing his hat. The magician drew the cloth over his face, scrubbing his skin until the only traces of blood left were beneath his clothe where none would see. Not wishing to take any longer, he stuffed the cloth back into his coat then placed his hat on top of his head before exiting the washroom to locate Epikuro and Triune.

Stephen nodded politely to Epikuro as she ushered them all in. As-Nas instructed them to locate a table for the three to sit together. The man had not even asked her if she wished to accompany them. "You do not have to sit with us if you wish but we would be honored with your company." he offered formally to Epikuro, not quite sure how he should address her yet. As he asked he gestured to an open table near the window in the back of the bar, inquiry flashing in his yellow eye.
The three CAEsAL trial teams perked up measurably as they entered the establishment, even the ones that had lost their wages and were broke as ancient bones again. Matches absently struck another match and lifted it in his right hand with a stogie in his left to light before Regis snatched the burning object out of his hands and snuffed it between two dainty fingers. She didn't even wince, she just stared hard at the offender. "No smoking on this floor, balcony or outside, you know the rules bub." He rolled his eyes and growled only a little, grabbing for the girl who smartly sashayed out of his reach.
"Fine, but you owe me one Regis,"
"I owe you a smoke, nothing more bub." She clarified for good measure. Stephen picked a table as instructed and it seated three; himself, the other recruit and the leader herself. Without hesitation the 6 others grabbed the tables on both sides of his. The tables were tall enough to lean on while standing, but were accompanied by tall-standing stools in slender triangle configurations around. The bar itself was nice and square shaped in the center of the main floor with a countertop that lifted on one end so the staff could get in and out of the boxed in service area. Patrons were lined up around all four edges and the place was packed. Regis slipped her small frame between a handful of grumpy men who felt they'd waited long enough for someone to get around to taking their orders. When they realized a little blond head had squeezed in front of them they all looked down grudgingly. She batted her lashes and smiled encouragingly.
"Hi," she shouted to be heard over the noise. A few were quick to return her smile, a few others were slow but all of them came around. By the time she returned to the CAEsAL tables with eight mug handles fisted (4 gripped in each hand), there was a transformed gaggle of guys behind her calling out their awws and invitations for her to swing by their tables throughout the night. She stopped only briefly to flick back her hair and wink at the group over her shoulder, mouthing the word "maybe" just to keep their hopes up.
"Alright boys, the usual," she said in her firmer tone of voice once she was back with her group and the charades were over. One by one she passed the drinks around, then opened her palm to cutthroat who paid up for the tab. Only when Addison returned from the restroom did she realize she miscounted and was one short.

Epikuro had no reasons to refuse Stephen's offer of sitting with them. She had been planning to keep an eye on the newbies and see them during a more casual situation (the drinks) anyway - and the good manners were appreciated nonetheless. After the tables were chosen and all of them (except Addison) were settled, she watched Regis slipping into the balcony crowd for their beverages. Each of them had varied methods for doing from the simplest to most complex things, but it always brought a pleasant feeling that all varieties worked to whom used it. Even if the blond woman had missed one mug in the count. Carrying eight at once that wasn't something others could complain about, though it made Epikuro let out a soundless snicker at the other's realization face. "No issues, I'll get the last cup. Enjoy your drink, Regis. Cuty, the coins please." She stood up already holding her own mug, picked the money with Cutthroat, stuck the money in a pocket midway before waving to someone who was still waiting for a drink and then headed towards the balcony. "Hey buddy. It's been a while, how are you faring?" And she stuck herself amid the lined guys, opening space to reach the selected 'friend' to chat and after a moment coming back to the table holding a single cup while behind her there was the guy looking mildly confused and thinking out loud 'Who the heck was that...'. "So," She left the glass in front of Addison while sipping her own. "as explained before, you may pick your own lists from now own. But if you two eventually need information from the web, it'll be good to know of any... preferences, then. Just what you wish to mention."

Ironically enough, for an entertainer who worked in a circus, Addison was not overly fond of crowded places and although he never let it show in his face, he made his way through a crowd with much hidden disdain to reach his destination. The magician had almost overlooked his new found 'family' until he saw Epikuro stand then leave. His brow raised with inquiry as he went to take a seat and quietly asked, "will our splendid leader return?" His voice was quiet and lacked any sort of emotion but he spoke loud enough to be heard by the man beside him. Of course, she did return and with a drink for him. "Thank you," he called to her then stared down at the drink as though he were inspecting it for any sort of irregularities. When she spoke up, he took up the mug for a drink then listened quietly. They would get to pick their own kills? Oh, how truly generous--marvelous even! He wouldn't have to supply his own targets to quench his thirst and as long as he followed their marks he would remain off of that list. "Hm, I honestly have no preference, and I've plenty of time on my hands so I'll do my work as often as you'd like and to whoever you assign. Don't be shy to send me work either." He spared a glance at Stephen to watch him carefully, seeing if his body language would change at all or if he was squeamish at the thought of killing anyone else.
Stephen just looked at the drink in front of him, picking it up to swirl it around in the mug a little before setting it back down. As-Nas walked over to the table with an unhappy look. So, he must not like the crowds. This was understandable seeing how most of the people in this bar were idiotic drunkards. Stupid people did not make good company. "She will be back." he responded evenly to As-Nas's question, looking out the window. Once Regis was done with her drink he would be sure to offer and buy her the next one. When Epikuro came back he did not turn his gaze from the window. So they could choose their targets now. Good, he did not care to be told who he should bring justice to. Anyways, he would be sure of the reasons as to why he would kill his next victim. As-Nas seems all too thrilled at the idea; He seemed a little to eager for Stephen's taste. It did not pass his attention the small glance the performer gave him. "I will carry out my justice by myself, thank you. I do not approve of leaving my work for others to deal with. The only time I would do this is if I was handicapped in some way. Maybe if I think a target is to much for me I might require assistance." he turned to look at Epikuro questioningly "If, that is, permitted of course." It was highly unlikely that he would do this but if he started to question the motives of some of the members this might be a way to prove his suspicions.

Epikuro's gaze rested on each of the newbies for a moment. The two seemed opposites like water and oil - Triune all so very centered, if a bit cranky and with quite a justice-maker resolution on the serious face while As-Nas remained relaxed, having fun with the prospects of the grimreaper job and that thin underlayer of cruelty disguised by a sociable smile. What an interesting irony. She took her drink away from her lips and rested it over the table in a much more dainty and collected way than the happy-go-lucky manners she had used to fetch the last mug. Luckily, with as crowded the bar was that night and the two closest tables being filled with only her own assassins, there was freedom enough for them to talk openly as long as no one started shouting. "We only have three rules: don't blow your cover, don't compromise other members and don't shed blood without reason (be it your own or of another). Those 3 exist for the sole fact that by following them the less of us are caught, and not following them would reduce us to ax-crazy mass murders. Beyond that, how you complete and dispose of the jobs you choose is up to you. Lone missions are not minority in here." In fact she prefered working alone most of time as well, with sparce exceptions here and there. "Just make sure you will ask for assistance if the task proves too complex - comtretemps happen sometimes, and in this type of work the results tend to not be pleasant." She played of passing a finger over the cup border while looking at the two of them. "As for you, As-Nas, don't worry, work is something you won't lack. I'll tend to it that you'll have a list deserving of your methods to choose from." Little sip. "Also, I don't think I need to tell you boys this, but what happens in the shadows stays in the shadows. If we meet at more... light or casual circunstances, lets exchange names and act accordingly to this present meeting naver happening."

As-nas listened to her words with small attention. So many people meant many voices speaking over one another and although he did catch her words he was partially distracted. Ocassionally his eyes would wander over the surrounding people before returning to Epikuro as she spoke. "You needn't worry. If the work requires aid I am always more than happy to cooperate. Believe it are not, but I have worked more in others' company than just my lonely self for these kinds of jobs." His brows lifted for a brief moment before he lifted the mug to down a good portion of the liquid. Setting the mug down, he glanced over their leader once more as though he were trying to see just what kind of person he or she was. "Epikuro, my talents do not only extend to such dark matters. If you need any help in other means to entertainment-- well I would like to think I am a jack of all trades there." His gaze fell on Stephen once more and he smiled pleasantly. He was unsure yet if they would get along or not.
"Thats what I'm talking about!" Matches roared over the other tables, clearly eaves dropping on the center trio. He grinned so wide he looked like a shark and gave a lazy two fingered salute to As-nas. "Not as much fun workin alone, but in teams - well, ups the anti, doesn't it?"
He elbowed Regis in making the simple gesture, and it caused her to spill her drink all over the table. She gave a frustrated growl in her throat which wasn't so much intimidating as it was provocative. The grin fell from Matches face and his pupils went strangely wide as he regarded her with intense severity. She didn't seem to notice, she was staring into her empty mug. Cutthroat rolled his eyes and whipped a handkerchief from his sleeve to mop up the mess on their table.

"We only have three rules: don't blow your cover, don't compromise other members and don't shed blood without reason (be it your own or of another)..." Stephen turned and listened intently to Epikuro as she spoke. It surprised them none the less that they did not want their own assassin's blood spilled but it might just have to do with leaving evidence behind or something of the sort. He was not fool enough to think that they really cared about their members. Or did they? They all seemed to treat one another like family- a odd, disjointed one but a family none the less. As she finished he nodded his head to show he understood the conditions and rules.
Stephen glance back at As-Nas as he talked. As-Nas certainly was an odd one but he had a way of getting a laugh out of him, something not many people could do. It was true, he did not entirely like the performer but he would prefer his company over some of the other riff-raff in this group. Matches' loud roar brought Stephen out of his thoughts with a frown. The noise Regis made shortly afterwards surprised him- he did not think such an interesting sound could have came out of the woman. Turning to look at her and see what the fuss was about he noticed her empty drink. "Ah I am sorry to see you have lost your drink. May I have the honor of buying you another Miss Regis?" he asked politely, giving her an inquiring look. He was being entirely too polite for the company he was with. Maybe he should relax a little? Not likely though. He was surrounded by a bunch of killers. Not the kind of company you loosened your collar around.
