Hey all!
Sorry for the delay; work and video game updates have prevent us from posting this around our usual time.
Without further ado, the Combat Tree has been updated! Pretty much just a slew of grammatical and clarification changes throughout in the hopes of making it a little easier to understand. We also have a some guide updates in regards to Bows, Thrown Weapons, and Armor, so check out the Skill Guide as well!
For next week, we'll be working on the Magic Tree. Additionally, in preparation for people coming back (and hopefully new people as well), we will be looking into reorganizing the site a bit. No visual changes or anything too drastic, merely reshuffling some of the information threads at the top, to help better guide members to creating a character and joining the site; a clean-up if you will.
On a slightly related note, there is one major change that we are currently discussing. No, it is not the major change I keep teasing you with, but it is something that current/old members will need to take probably some time to get used to: decoupling Lodan's time from IRL time.
Until now, despite the fluid nature of Lodan's RPs, time in Lodan effectively followed IRL; we have the Festival of Hearts during Valentine's Day, a "spooky" Halloween-themed event during, well, Halloween, etc. However, with the recent drop in activity (understandable, life can be quite the ornery mistress), it just does not seem as appealing as before; Lodan would continue to age, regardless if members were present or not. To combat this, after the upcoming time skip, Lodan's time would effectively "stall" (metaphorically of course). The intent would be to allow the group as a whole to go quiet for months on end without needing to suddenly explain yet another year-long (or longer) time skip. Instead, you would be able to jump right back in as if nothing happened. Furthermore, this allows us admins a higher level of control as to when we want to do the usual seasonal events, thereby officially marking the passage of time in Lodan, as well as make them more meaningful. Bottom line: if this were to be implemented nothing would truly change, except that your character wouldn't suddenly age or need to be required to explain where they were for the past few weeks/months/years.
We still got a lot of work ahead of us, but the light can be barely seen at the end of the tunnel.
Until next time~
