EPM for Artwork is awarded to the Character who's account posted it. If someone posts art as their Alt and wants the EPM for their primary it is not shiftable across accounts.
- In case of art with identically repeated panels, it’ll only be awarded points the first time it appears. In case of slightly altered panels (using a base drawn image and changing aspects of it), the first time will be awarded normally and the following ones will be graded as photomanips.
- Remember:artwork done for the group will be evaluated at your guild leaders discretion to determine whether or not to reward EPM, NOT based on skill, but based on effort (ex: sketch vs. flat colors vs. fully shaded).
This means that the grading scale is to CAP the amount a person can be awarded for a certain kind of work. It does not automatically mean they are entitled to it if little to no effort was invested in the work being graded.
Monthly Spotlights:
Rewarding members with EPM for MotM & CotM. Any guildmate of yours that has received a Monthly Spotlight has earned 4 EPM.
GEARS:
Another way to earn EPM for RP writing, is to reward the GEARS (which is what now spins on our profiles). When you hit certain benchmarks in posts activity, you get a new GEAR by your avatar. For each new GEAR, members should be rewarded 5 EPM for their exceptional level of activity with the group. Similar to rewarding General Artwork, this will reward General Activity on the forums.
General Drawings, Paintings & Memes:
- In comics, memes and anything that includes multiple panels, each panel will be evaluated individually.
- In group pictures, characters will be evaluated individually.
1 EPM: rough doodles
3 EPM: clean sketches, lines
5 EPM: flats (fill color)
7 EPM: polished colors (use of textures, gradients, shading and/or highlights)
Backgrounds:
- Drawings/paintings with backgrounds drawn/painted in will have their background evaluated separately from the actual picture, and it’s value will be added to the picture’s base value.
1 EPM: rough doodles
3 EPM: clean sketches, lines
5 EPM: flats (fill color), simple patterns, simple photo-manipulations
7 EPM: polished colors (use of textures, gradients, shading and/or highlights), complex photo-manipulations
- Pre-mades (like making blank memes for everyone’s use) do not count for EPM. These are donations only.
- People can re-fill memes more than once and still earn EPM, all EXCEPT FOR recycling the same drawing on different memes (the art needs to be new).
Photography, Photo-manipulations, Fonts and Artcrafts:
- “Simple” is considered to be small manipulations to the source material, where less than half of it was altered. “Complex” is when either more than half of the source material has been altered, such as a painted and/or detailed sculpture, and/or (in the case of photomanips) multiple pictures spliced together.
5 EPM: photography, simple photo-manipulations, text fonts, simple artcrafts.
7 EPM: complex photo-manipulations, complex artcrafts.
2D/3D:
2D game development:
Sprites for 2D animation/pixel art: Full sprite sheets with all angles needed for simulated animation are considered the same as colored art without a background and should be awarded 3 EPM. Other pixel art should be judged on a basis of complexity. A single building would be 1 EPM, however an entire city/landscape would be awarded at 3 EPM.
3D game development: TBD
3D assets that are purchased should not be considered eligible for EPM.
Animations:
Frame-by-Frame:
(Levels x Length) + Audio + Flow + Characters + Backgrounds:
Levels: sketch, lines, color - rank these as rough sketch is 1 EPM, clean sketches and lines are 3 EPM, 5 EPM for flat colors, and 7 EPM for shading.
Length: duration in seconds. - multiply the level by the duration (ex: the flying Zona sketch would be 3 EPM x 4 sec = 12 EPM)
Audio: does it have music/voiceover or is it soundless? add 1 EPM if it has ambient sound (soundtrack) 1 EPM for sound effects, 1 EPM for Voice over, and 2 EPM for lip syncing.
Flow: How well does the animation flow? Is it choppy/stutters or do the frames blend together smoothly? Flow is awarded on a moving scale where a very choppy animation receives 0 EPM and an extremely smooth animation receives a max of 4 EPM.
Characters: EPM is awarded for extra animated characters beyond the first, based off of level (rough sketch is 1 EPM, clean sketches and lines are 3 EPM, 5 EPM for flat colors, and 7 EPM for shading). Note: if the extra characters are not animated, they will be considered part of the background.
Backgrounds: EPM is awarded for backgrounds based off of level (rough sketch is 1 EPM, clean sketches and lines are 3 EPM, 5 EPM for flat colors, and 7 EPM for shading). Extra EPM will be added for additional background of their respective level.
(Note: These rating are designed for Animations where each frame is drawn by hand. If a program was used to simulate motion or backgrounds/character models were purchased, this would fall under Rendered Animations.)
Rendered Animations:
Scenes x VFX + Audio:
Scenes: static vs. mobile background (does it move?) & does it have subjects (characters, icons) or text captions? give 1 point for mobile (0 points for static bc), and give 1 point per-subject (per character) or 1 point for captions (1 point total for text).
VFX: how many alternate transitions or VFX are there? (is the same VFX animation used every time, are there different animations?) 1 point for each.
Audio: does it have music/voiceover or is it soundless? add 1 EPM if it has ambient sound (soundtrack) 1 EPM for sound effects, and 1 EPM for Voice over/ lip syncing.
Multiply Scene points x VFX points **effects have to be appropriate for the animation and tie into the whole. Do not go effects crazy to wrack up EPM, (we'll be able to tell if its excessive or not) ADD Audio points
For example: Skye's Animation: 3 scene points [2 points (2 mobile BGs), 1 point (for text captions)] times: 4 VFX points [2 points (transition animations), 1 point (for lens flair VFX) 1 point (for pulse/ripple effect)]. Add 1 EPM ambient (soundtrack) + 1 EPM for sound effects. So total that is 3x4+2= 14 EPM
Timelapses:
Video + Audio:
Video: 4 EPM
Audio: Subdivided into Intro, Narration, Character Speech, and Music/Sound Effects. Each category present awards 2 EPM, cummulative.
Written Submissions:
Fanfics and Canon Stories:
Story chapters:
Written submissions that require one or more previous and/or following chapters in sequence to make sense as a story.
3 EPM base
+1 EPM for 500 words.
+2 EPM for 1000 words.
+3 EPM for 1500 words or more. (Maximum 9 EPM per chapter)
+4 EPM for completing the story (it has a defined end and thread will be locked)
Oneshots:
Written submissions that don’t require reading previous and/or following chapters to make sense as a story (even if they do have a sequence in relation to other submissions).
4 EPM base
+2 EPM clear plot line.
+1 EPM 500 words.
+2 EPM 1000 words.
+3 EPM 1500 words.
+4 EPM 2000 words or more. (Maximum 16 EPM per oneshot)
Prompts:
- Written prompts are graded in the same way as oneshots.
- Visual prompts are graded in the same way as event art.
Prompt challenges: 2 EPM per completed challenge, with a max +6 EPM per prompt entry in the case of all challenges being complete, will be added on top of the entry's grade.
- Be aware that written submissions may be detracted points if the story is hard to read (too confusing -1 EPM, riddled with typos -1 EPM).
Referrals:
A referral means a current forum member bringing in a new person into the forums and having them join. Every person brought in counts as 3 EPM for this award.
Referrals are rewarded per person brought, not per character, so even if someone you brought in makes 5 characters you will only get this award once; if you want to receive it again, bring in another person. People who joined the forums, left, then rejoined only count for this award on the first time they joined (bringing in returnees doesn't count).
RP in-game events:
To decide value of EPM for RP Events first select 1 of the 2 categories the player falls into
Cameo – one time poster, the equivalent of doing a drive-by, or photobombing (still great to have them there!) Awarded 3 EPM.
Consistent Player – Posted regularly, interacting with things and people as much as affordable. Awarded 8 EPM.
- Be aware that there may be detracted points from your event participation award if your posts are hard to read (too confusing -1 EPM, riddled with typos -1 EPM).
RP Event artwork:
Any event-related artwork will be granted an additional 2 EPM to its base value
- Every guild leader is responsible for keeping track of and awarding points to their own guild mates. However, with the awarding guidelines becoming more transparent, guild members are encouraged to keep track of their own points. It may help that you keep an electronic paper trail of what points have been awarded for what purposes and when.
- Remember to PM your respective guild leader a list for what you need tallied every once in a while, with how much you think each item is worth included. The guild leader will then check it over and, if there’s no disagreements, you’ll be informed and your points will be immediately added to your guild bank tally.
- If there are any disagreements between the guild leader and the points receiver, you’ll be equally informed.
