Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
OPEN TO DANNY + ALL Jak had taken Danny to the Railway station. He looked around nonchalantly, hands in his pockets and chin in the air. The flow of people had slowed as it was getting on in the evening, only the odd couple of figures bustled about on their way. Smirking a little, Jak turned to Danny. "This is the Station, as I'm sure you already know. EIRAL territory." he lowerd his voice to almost inaudible, but remained smiling. "Now, you see those couple of guards? I want you to watch 'em. An' if you think it's important or might impact us in any way, report it back t'me. Mind you don't get caught." he looked Danny up and down. "And if yer at all magical, then might as well mess up some o' their gadgets, 'ey?" he grinned broadly and patted Danny on the back. "I'll be glad t'have you on board, I'm sure."

"Righ'... Uhhh, Jakky, when ya say don' get caught, d'ya mean don't get caught watchin' em or don't what? 'cause it ain' hard to mess with em if I can actually go up to em an' all, ya know?" Danny tugged his scarf further up and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Ya know wha'? I'll figure it out..." Danny turned and started walking up to the guards without giving Jak a chance to reply. "'lo! Evenin' an' all that. Ah..." Danny shuffled up to the two guards. "I... uhm... I... I got's somethin' an' I thought th' army'd be able to use it. It's... uh..." Danny looked between the two nervously, every bit the terrified boy. "I... I got journals. An'... An' they gots monster in em. The monster from out in'a forest. I..." Danny tugged his scarf up higher as he trailed off. "I... don' s'pose there's someone I can talk to 'bout this? Please?" Danny looked up at the two guards with his best kicked puppy expression.
Jak decided to stay, just in case Danny got into too much trouble. He knew that if the EIRALs found out what he was doing, it would be more than merely the back of their hand Danny would be dealing with, and though he wasn't technically one of his guild yet, he already had a soft spot for the kid. He lingered close by, watching them out of the corner of his eye. The guards were much, much taller than Danny, and didn't have particularly friendly expressions on their faces as they looked down at him.

The guardsman to the right of Danny shook his head. "That won't be necessary. This is no place for children to be playing, so run back home." The man made a shooing motion at Danny.
"Aw, C'mon Jennings. Kid don't look like he's had a proper meal in a couple days." The other guard stepped out some and reached into his pocket. "What's ya name kid?"
"Dammit Rowles... always gotta make me look like the bad guy. I'm tryin' to do my job, and you should be too. We don't have time to feed every hungry mouth." As he spoke, Jennings also rummaged in his pocket. All together, Rowles and Jennings had enough EMP for a decent loaf of bread.
"M'name's Danny..." Danny replied as he looked between the two nervously.
"C'mon Danny, take this and get somethin' ta eat, yeh?" Rowles offered the pocket change to the boy, who quietly accepted it.
As Danny began making his way away, Jennings called out, "Stop by and say hi every once in a while, alright?" Sober faced Jennings stood at attention as Danny replied, "I will!" Danny moved away from the two and back towards Jak. Almost on cue, Rowles swore loudly as the two guards radios fried.
Jak snickered and smiled down at Danny. "Nice goin'." He crossed his arms and leaned back on one of the pillars. "Yeh, we could watch 'em. Or....we could have a little more fun." he smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I've had a bit of a change in plans. See, they aren't exactly ecstatic 'bout Anders on the railroad..." He srugged and looked around. "So why should we care if say.....something were to happen, to make travelling by railroad..inconvenient?" He nodded his head in the direction of the large clock face that kept time for the station. "You see that? Shame if it were to stop keepin' time an' confuse things, 'ey?"

Roan breathed heavily as he rushed through the busy street to the train station. "Come on Ro, don't be late... don't be late!" It was only Roan's second day under the EIRAL banner and he definitely didn't want to be late for classes. While his medical expertise was enough for the rough and tumble streets back home it was deemed to be lacking by the upper echelon of medics in the EIRALs, and he was thusly inducted into an internship job with more established soldiers to learn more effective means of healing.
And that job would be starting today. Somewhere in the expansive army territory of the EIRALs. The area he had yet to explore on his own. Fortunately for him however, Roan was lent a leftover communication device that his assigned buddy would use to guide him to his destination.
"You hear me Roan? You should've arrived at the transtation by now." spoke the disembodied voice.
"Yeah... I'm at the train station now. So... where to next?
"Good. Ne....bzzzt... to thezzzzt... buildizzzt...--
Static buzzed through the message before a loud feedback ring shot through Roan's eardrum like a jagged knife, causing him to yell and drop the walkie talkie to the ground. He rubbed his ear as he stared down at the smoldering device, wondering what could have happened. The two guards nearest to him seemed to be having the same problems.
"Um... excuse me sirs but... do these devices mess up like this often?" asked Roan.

Danny glanced over his shoulder at the recently arrived yelling soldier, before he turned his attention back to Jak. "So watcha' thinkin' Jakky? We jus' gonna head on up there an' wiggle our fingers?" Danny pulled his scarf higher up as he spoke, but was unable to keep a little giggle from slipping out. "Righ'! 'fore I forget..." Danny slapped his open palm against Jak's chest, the money the soldiers gave him pinned in place. "When we're done 'ere, yer gettin' me some food." Danny shoved against Jak before pulling his hand away. He turned and started sauntering towards the large clock with as much machismo as he could muster. He gave one last glance over his shoulder at the two guards and the third soldier, before he continued on his way towards the clock.
Jak laughed a little as Danny shoved him the money. "Yeh, alrigt." he followed Danny as casually as he could. "But, y'know.. it won't be as easy as a little finger-waggling for such a big contraption. I best come with ya." Jak trotted along, all the while making sure to keep an eye on the soldier who'd just arrived. "And try not to look suspicious, 'ey Danny?"
Roan scratched his head and looked around him, curious as to just what it was that was that destroyed his walkie talkie so randomly. He eventually noticed that the two soldiers nearest to him were complaining about having trouble with their walkie talkies aswell.
Curiouser and curiouser...
Next Roan looked up to the sky in hopes that it was as simple as a coming storm interfering with their tools. That would have been overly simple however, as a passing lightning strike would have killed Roan dead, and he would know if it were raining. The only possible explanation that made sense would be foul play. But who would play such a dirty prank? Pranks were all in good fun, but not when the end result is the destruction of expensive military equipment.
"Hey... you guys didn't notice anyone suspicious around here, did you?" asked an increasingly weary Roan as he remembered seeing what looked like a young boy earlier. Sure enough the men pointed behind Roan in the direction the boy went. Roan thanked the men and set off to see if he were suffering the same fate for any of his personal electronics... or if he were responsible.
[Flos had just returned from spending two holiday-filled weeks back at his folks' place. From the looks of it, it didn't seem much has changed in Lodan, or so he thought. He peered around after stepping away from his train, bright yellow eyes sneaking glances for the richer picks. He could pick up a few coins before he'd start back to his guild, but it was definitely getting dark, and staying out so late in a crowded area might be not so safe for an Anders like him. Still, he hadn't had a chance to eat yet . . . he tugged his cap slightly over his eyes, adjusted his scarf, and heaved his bag over his shoulder again before merging into the small crowd.]

"So, Jakky. What's the plan?" Danny laced his fingers together and cradled the back of his head in his hands. "Ya got a plan, dontcha?" Danny wandered towards the clock as nonchalantly as possible. "Oh! Oh! Yer treatin' fer dinner, so I wantcha ta get somethin' good. Ain' had fish a'fore... Oh! And rice! And I wan' some chocolate strawberries. I want some olive bread too." Danny rambled. He was nearing the station's buildings now, and pulled his scarf up a little higher. Danny glanced around and pulled his leaded lensed goggles down over his eyes. "We're gettin' close... wha' now?"
Jak kept on smiling even as Danny rambled about his dream dinner. He rounded a small corner, and in a little nook away from anyone who might hear, he took Danny aside. "Alright...you see the big cloktower's pretty close now. Near the back there should be a little door - always is on things like that - it'll be just big enough for you to crawl through. Once yer inside, try an' find a ladder or stairs that go up to the inner workings. At the top you should see the back of the clock face. What you do is--" he stoped talking and pretendd to be rooting through his pockets for something as someone walked by. After they were gone, he continued, in an even quieter voice. "--What you do is, you shift some o' the gears and maybe one of the hands, if you can manage it. It should stop it for a while." he chuckled and patted Danny's shoulder. " 'Fraid I'll be staying down here to make sure it don't look s'picious on the outside. And... maybe cause a comotion if you need help." he winked.
[Flos swiped a few coins here and there, and might've taken someone's crackers as he hungrily munched on them. He passed by a corner where two people seem to be talking or making a dark deal, but he paid them no heed. There was no need to interrupt a shifty conversation like that, and besides, it wasn't his business. He stopped ahead and looked around. Alright, now he was lost . . . where was the exit from the train station again?]

Danny nodded his head and disappeared around the the corner of the clocktower. Danny ran his hands over the back of the tower searchingly, and found the door Jak had mentioned. After a quick glance to make sure nobody was watching, he disappeared into the tower. Danny made his way through the dimly lit interior until he found a worn ladder propped against the wall. With a deep breath, Danny began climbing up the ladder. Up, up, up he went, all the way to the tippy top. Once there, Danny looked around the tower's interior. That looked like a reasonable target. Danny moved over to the slowly turning gears and took a deep breath before he grabbed one and started pulling. That's one... but Jak wanted more. Danny repeated his work with two other gears, then looked around for whatever controlled the clock's hands. Not finding it, Danny slipped back down and outside the tower. He tugged his scarf up higher on his face and looked for Jak. Once spotted, Danny made his way over to the boy and grinned. "How'd I do? Mucked up three 'a the gears up there."
