Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Well, great. Cyric was now part of this Magicae Incolentium. He had walked about two steps down the hallway before he scratched his head, "Darn it...I am lost." He sighed, "LASAIR!" He exclaimed as he turned around, "Um...mind giving me a tour of the place? Just so I don't end up getting lost ya know?" He paused for a second, "That is a totally reasonable request, right?" He inquired to his new boss.

Chuckling, Lasair turned to the new member and stepped forward. “Sure thing. I won’t stop to open every single door, but the main ones I’ll stop to highlight.” Waving a hand, he walked down the main hallway until he came to a big door with fancy decorations. It stood out from the other doors they passed along the way.
Pushing it open, he revealed the largest room of the building; the library. Bookshelves stretched out in either direction with work tables and ladders scattered in between. The shelves stretched upwards at least four meters, if not higher, and above them were intricately designed rafters. The rafters held a number of ledges and perches, perfect for any winged ander to claim as their own. If Cyric were to look directly above him, he would also notice some larger perches with doors on them, leading to the third floor. The walls of the room (as well as the pillars spread out in the middle) had a rough texture, something that a feline ander would be able to climb with ease. At the far wall, opposite of where they entered, large windows rose from a few feet off the ground up to the ceiling, illuminating the room with natural light. All the windowsills would also make nice places to sit as well.
“This is the library; the warehouse for all our information. There’s books on magic, Anders, Shadow beasts, and so much more.” Letting out a light chuckle, Lasair looked up at the tall shelves and smiled. It was his favorite room, after all.

Cyric came into the room as he looked around, perches and rough pillars. Huh, nice touches. Of course he did also love reading, unfortunately it might not have been the kind of reading everyone else did, "You got any like, comic strips or something around here?" Cyric asked Lasair before he looked on a shelf and noticed a book titled, Intro to Cryomancy. Cyric was going to have to check that out later when he had more EMP...I mean uh...when he got more skilled. Whew! Nice save there Narrator!

Frowning, Lasair scratched the back of his head as he thought about the question. “No, I don’t think so. Mostly academic things, research, analyses, reference books, ect.” He shrugged, turning to walk through the library to a different door. It would give Cyric a chance to somewhat see how large of a room it is.
After exiting the library, he walked through the halls to the west side of the building, coming to the atrium room. The place wasn’t quite as tall as the library, but it had a similar system of rafters and rough-edged walls, complete with lovely perches to watch the sunset or stargaze. Lasair recalled the time he and Clairee had come here to stargaze. “There’s potential to do a lot of astronomy here, between the books, this room, and the other one. But I do rather like the atrium here. It’s a nice place to sit and think.”

Cyric looked around the library, yep those were a lot of books, but upon mention of what they were he sighed in his mind. Then they came to atrium, "So basically if I just wanna sit here and think about my life, this is a good place to go?" He asked, "Actually yeah, this seems like a pretty good spot to sit and think," He nodded, "How did you guys get the funding for all this?"
(he said anyone could join so...) Ironic that the she-bird would be up in the rafters of the atrium just now, though she was hardly stargazing. She was hiding. Hiding from her Da, and all her brothers, who had finally caught on to the fact she was slipping out at night and had accused her of turning tail for coin. It was outrageous and she knew they were just afraid of what unholy reasons a daughter might have for sneaking off at the witching hour but to jump to prostitution? The audacity. Even though she knew she wasn't guilty of it, she still felt dirty that they thought it even possible...
or was the accusation an obvious falsehood in order to get her to tell the truth? That she had joined her brothers enemy and was a part of the M.I? Her eyes were red from shedding tears, but they were dry now, the tears long since spent. All that was left was the itchy redness. When the duo below entered the atrium she quickly reigned in her sniffles and wiped at her cheeks, just in case. Time to pull it together, Clair, she coached herself.
Overhearing Lasairs tour and mention of view she stretched her wings with feigned nonchalance and gave a ladylike yawn. Her way of politely letting them know she was here before she popped off the rafter and allowed herself to drift to the ground.
"Sorry to interrupt," she offered politely.

Before he could answer Cyric’s question, a yawn and a show of wings caught Lasair’s attention. He smiled and waved at Clairee as she flew down before turning to introduce Cyric. “Hello Clairee, this is Cyric. Just joined the guild tonight and he asked for a tour. Clairee is one of our most senior members at MI so she can answer any questions you might have about the place if I’m not around.” He gave them a chance to greet each other before going on to address the question.
“This place was built by our old founder. It’s not entirely known where the money came from, but we did have some connections to Anders hiding within the world of nobility. Anderweltes are everywhere and some are more willing to be supportive than others. In recent times a lot of those connections have faded, but I hope to rekindle them in the future.” Hopefully near future, but Lasair couldn’t be sure. It was hard to give a timeline to these things anymore.
Cyric looked at the winged woman and bowed, "He's right, Name is Cyric Bachman! Professional," He paused...shoot he wasn't a professional at anything right now...wait hold on! He got it!, "Cannon Fodder! At your service." He said as he thought for a second, that didn't have a good ring to it. He then went back to listening to the guild leader explain the history of the place, "Hopefully, if we want to complete our goals we are gonna need all the help we can get!"
The title was... a bit self depreciating and as such she didn't know whether to smile, frown... or perhaps laugh, if it was meant as a joke.
Lasair saved her the trouble of having to figure it out as the tour continued and the young man tuned back in. She laced her fingers together behind her back and followed along silently. She didn't want to lurk in the rafters while they worked, and she didn't want to walk out either mid-sentence. that would be rude too. So, the most polite thing to do would be to pay attention. She joined the tour and told herself, if nothing else; I might even learn a few things I didn't know about the place before.

From the atrium, Lasair led the duo to the staircase, taking them up to the second floor. After navigating the halls for a bit, he came to a door and pushed it open, holding it for them. Inside was a star room of some kind, the walls and ceiling decorated with star charts while the center featured a model of the solar system. The ceiling featured a large chandelier with a collection of candles waiting to be lit, but the room overall had a layer of dust to it that hung in the air.
“If you’re interesting in astronomy, this is the room for you, although it hasn’t been used in quite some time. The model in the center works and the chandelier’s light can illuminate the charts throughout the room. It’s good for research and running dates. I’ve never delved much into astronomy to know the exact details past that.”
Cyric thought for a second, "Actually, I would love to see this room lit up!" He exclaimed as he patted himself down, "And not the means to do it." He looked at the guild leader expectantly. Honestly if anyone had the ability to light it up it would be him, "You can light this right?" He inquired, he hoped he wasn't wrong about this, cause that would make things extremely awkward...

Chuckling, it took Lasair a moment to realize what was being asked of him. Nodding a moment, he walked over to a lever on the wall and began cranking it. The chains and gears slowly lowered the chandelier from the ceiling until it was low enough for everyone to approach it. It would be a bit of a squeeze fitting in to get the candles between the large ceiling ornament and the planet model, but they could manage.
Stepping forward, he snapped his fingers and conjured a small candle flame. It licked at the wick until it was ignited. Picking up the candle, he used it to light two others and handed each of them to his companions, beckoning them to help light the rest of them around the chandelier. It was a large contraption, but they could get through it.
After a few minutes spent lighting candles, all were lit and burning gently. Lasair returned to the crank embedded in the wall and began winding it back up, returning the flaming ornament to the ceiling so that the whole room could bathe in its glow.

Cyric looked around at the now lit up room. He had never seen anything like it before. Course he wasn't too keen on technology and all. For obvious reasons. "It's beautiful!" He exclaimed, "How did you manage to get the room to do this? Was it like, a spell or something?"
