Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Rava, continued along but she heard something ... something that was not normal.... it did put a chill up her spin and force her to turn around to hear were the sound was coming from , she held her club o fire in a ready , both on like a sword as she continued scanning the area for the thing where the sound was coming from, at least she was ready for what could jump her , all she needed was one good hit with the fire end and regardless it would get injured or go up on fire if it had fur, she just kept calm and continue on her way as well as cranking jokes to keep herself calm " mister wolf~? where are you~?, i got a brick house you could try and blow down~ , oh and grandma said you missed her calls~ "

Caitlin gaped at the young man as he volunteered himself for the task of retrieving her 'family member' as if it were his job. She stared in stunned silence for a moment, unable to believe this kid was serious until he started marching off in the direction of the flame. Shaking her head to clear it, Cait snapped her jaw shut and jumped out of the tree. Half way down her fall to the ground she did a double jump ("Haste I" Can jump once more in mid-air (Double-jump)) to put herself in line with Danny. her feet landed with a thud and her blade zinged against its scabbard as she pulled it from the sheath.
"As the adult between the two of us, I can't rightfully let you go alone Danny," she said, as if that would explain everything. Then, for extra measure she added, "Besides, I'm armed, and that might just come in handy... maybe- hopefully. Then again hopefully not, cause it would be better to not.. need... it," her voice trailed off as she realized how close in the trees were and how tangled the branches all around them.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

Danny flinched away from the crazy woman when she whipped out her sword. "Don't do that! Keep it hidden! Any light'll catch on it an' we'll be just as bad as that torch carrying cove a' yers!" Danny crept forward as silently as possible, his eyes darting all around. "Look... jus'... jus' stay b'hind me an' stay quiet. We get caught this far out'n that sticker ain' gonna do us a lick of good..." Danny pulled his goggles down over his eyes again, dimming the luminescent glow from them, and moved further into the trees. He whispered quietly to his suicidal companion, "If anythin' jumps out, jus' run. Don' look back, don' think, jus' run. Find a big tree, go up, and pray that it's not a climber..." Danny pulled his scarf tighter about his neck and continued his tentative steps towards the far off light.
The light... the light... where there was light, there was food. Food... yes, food. A quiet cackle bubbled from inside the beast's chest and rolled around the forest, echoing. The brush of grass against scales, the rattle of spines clattering together, the his of leaves disturbed were the only proof that something was nearby. The warm glow of the torch was a beacon that would not be ignored. The beast crept in closer, its clawed forelegs easily the size of a small child each just barely catching the torchlight, which glinted off of the obsidian scales and crimson talons of the appendage. Six glowing red pinpricks hovered at the edge of the torchlight, never leaving the figure at the center.
when Rava seen the obsidian scales, she know it was no wolf... it was a Huge lizard?!?!?!? "ah CRAP!!" she throw the Touch towards a tree near by hoping it would light up the tree as she ran for it toward a different tree to get up it as fast as she can , in her mind she identified as if it was a black salamander, common to a desert land she once travailed thorough , they where known to be man eaters , size of wolfs and known to hunt alone , one bite or cut was deadly. she was not taking that risk at all " oh dam it dam it , why God do you rain down on my luck!! , at lest its not a dragon!"
The food was moving, so the monstrosity at the edge of the torchlight responded. It burst through the foliage at the edge of the clearing with an almost human sounding cackle. Beneath the high pitched whine of the laugh, a deep rumble rolled from its chest causing the trees to rattle with its reverberations. Twelve feet tall at the shoulder and near forty feet from nose tip to tail, the creature slithered into the clearing. It's head looked like a cross between a spider's jaws and a snakes head, with six eyes placed on either side of a large black scaled ridge in the center of its head. It's neck curved sinuously down to meet at its shoulders, which each supported a pair of massive, near human arms that ended in three fingered claws with a thumb on each claw. It's chest stretched powerfully between its shoulders and the rest of its body descended into something similar to a snakes. Every five feet or so, a pair of large spine-like tentacles sprouted, each as long as the creatures arms and ending in a spiked tip to impale and grab its prey. At the end of the creatures tail split into four different limbs, each ending in a grasping claw-like appendage. An acidic mucus dripped from the creatures jaws, and it's tentacles were coated in what looked to be the very same substance.
With infinite patience, the monster coiled its way through the trees, the torchlight flickering against its pitch colored scales. It pulled itself along the ground with its two massive forearms while its tongue darted in and out of its jaws serrated jaws. It drew nearer and nearer to its prey, and the slithering mass of its body brushed up against and extinguished the torch's weak flame. The forest was plunged back into darkness, except for those horrid red eyes...
Rava climbed up the tree as fast as she could getting to the top of it , after seeing everything in the touch light and after the touch had gone out with the red eyes "the hell it this thing , its like a spider bear snake with arms!?!" she got ready to run and jump to the next tree, and so on if need be, she didn't want to die today, not after the week she had , no way will this lizardspiderbear thing with arms! was gonna ruin her new life , or "life" in general

Caitlin snorted at Danny's warning. Between Rava's torch and Danny's eyes, a little glint off her steel was the least of their worries. After all, because of the other two, they might need the third one. And then the sound of Rava's voice shrieking hit Catlin's ears and she frowned. Definitely the girl she was looking for, and it didn't sound good at all.
Danny's steps were silent and ghost-like, it was no wonder he knew how to get by in the deadly forest, but now that Cait knew Rava was out there and shouting for her bloody life, she couldn't waste time tip toeing behind the boy.
"Excuse me," Caitlin muttered as she shouldered past Danny with her sword still in her hand. She ran headlong toward the sound of Rava's voice and when she found her half way up a tree she suddenly understood why all the fuss. "Heaven and hell..." Caitlin swore under her breath and lifted her sword in both hands to control her shaking. "Oye! Beastie, o'er here!" She shouted, then held her breath. Mentally she took account of her options. She had at most 4 good jumps left in her (Haste I) and she could layer up as many as 5 times on Hypnosis aimed at the beast ("Hypnosis I" Can influence targets thoughts (Non-direct control)) before she ran dry on power and was reduced to jab and retract tactics. Sticky beads of sweat coated the nape of her neck and weighed down the baby hairs that had risen on end before.
"Rava! if this thing kills me, I'm haunting you!" She called out hollowly - a ruse to raise her own courage, or so she hoped.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Danny rushed after his maniacal companion and pulled up short in the clearing. No. No. Not good. Not good. Why? Why did it have to be this? WHY?!?! Danny looked up the tree the creature was curling around and managed to catch sight of the woman in the tree. Quick, Danny... Quick... think... Danny circled away from the suicidal swords woman and did his best to get out of sight of the big nasty. "Stay away from the mucus, stay away from the tentacles. Don't get caught by the tail. It's forelegs are the least dangerous part of its body. It can use the sounds it makes as a weapon!" Danny's mouth was running a mile a minute trying to get out all the information. "The scales where each of the tentacles meet its body are where it is weakest. It can't move around very quickly because it drags itself, but it's arms and tentacles are lightning quick if you are close..." Danny looked up at the trees, his luminous eyes shining in the dark. "Rava! Jump as far from that tree as you can. It doesn't matter if you're going to hit the ground, that tree isn't safe!" Danny's voice was frantic as everything he'd hoped to avoid this trip seemed intent on happening to him.
The monster turned its gaze lazily on something new. Two more... two more. One's face glowed... the other one smelled delicious. They reminded it of home. With a malicious chuckle that once again caused the very ground to rattle, the creature slithered off the tree and towards the creature with the shining arm. Yes, this was a good night. The creature's tentacles lashed the air as it moved with patient purpose towards its prey...
Rava heard the voice and as she looked over she seen Caitlin and a boy/man? she didnt know who that was but one things for sure the lizardspiderbear thing with arms was heading right for them " Oh of all the people why god! " now her priority had changed from running to saving her employer and the boy kid , she known that this thing was not something that she could take but not without a real weapon , and she "left" her Dagger with Caitlin she needed to think fast, she did still have her small dagger but this was more of a tool to her. if only she hand a weapon since she was not against killing an animal. but then it hit her when she saw her one touch of what was left of the embers, she snap off a branch and using her tool knife she made a point in it , enough that with some force it would stab the thing, a cued weapon.
"HAY AM GONNA DO SOMETHING STUPID HERE, SINCE I DONT WANT TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR YA BEING EATEN" she shout as she starts to jump from tree to tree to get a head of the beast, preparing an ambush from above.

Caitlin nodded her head vigorously to all of Danny's shouted instructions. "Right, got it, don't get touched - by any part of that .. thing!" she jumped backwards and crouched to the ground as its tentacles lashed out for her. Rava did something she admitted was stupid and for the briefest moment Caitlin went cross-eyed and dumbfounded.
"Eh?! Rae- Ive got a sword... and you want to handle THAT-" she pointed at the beastie, "With a pointy stick?" Then the creature in question moved toward her some more and she had to refocus. Caitlin did a diveroll to the side and sliced at one of the tender spots Danny mentioned right near where a tentacle met the body.
"SIT!!!" Caitlin bellowed in a loud commanding voice as she pointed the tainted blade at the beast. She imbued her voice with her first dose of Hypnosis and hoped the creature could be swayed.

"You idiot! Don't go towards that thing!" Danny's voice rose to a shriek as he cried out. "We're here because of -you-!" Danny scrambled up one of the trees and looked down at the fight taking place. Not good... not good. Leave the fighting to those crazy enough to do it. Danny scrambled up as high as he could and tried to blend into the foliage of the tree. He took a moment to calm himself before he pulled out his journal and began sketching the creature. He came here to get another journal entry, and dammit, he was going to get it.
The creature's advance slowed as the little creature screamed at it. It tilted its head to the side, not even noticing the sticky black ichor that wept from the wound on one of its tentacles. After a moment of confusion, the creature let out a low throaty chuckle, and slid forward. The sound from its chest didn't stop, and indeed seemed to be growing. The ground in the immediate area started rumbling and the trees started vibrating. The sound built in a crescendo until it was dominating the area, the only thing that could be heard. The sap in the trees began exploding outwards, shattering the bark and sending splinters flying. The ground itself was becoming unstable, and the creature advanced onwards. Its useless tentacle hung limp on its back, coating the creature in its own oily black blood as it moved.
Rava kept jumping from tree to tree ,as she seen what Caitlin did with that magic and her sword "HAY I THINK YOU SHOULD PEG IT NOW! THAT THING IS ANGRY NOW , WHY DID YOU DO A STUPID THING WHEN I WAS GONNA DO A STUPID THING!?!" she now know that creature was angry but atlest she know a big Branch Spike could stab it thanks from seeing the sword that Caitlin used. "JUST RUN TOWARDS ME AND ILL TAKE IT OUT!! " hoping that Caitlin would understand Rava's plan.

"Because Rae," Caitlin grunted as the ground shook. She turned and dove backwards, belly flopping an extra eight feet away from the creature. Rolling over on her back and scrambling to her feet, she held the sword in front of her. Where did that Danny kid go? "I did a stupid thing BEFORE you did a stupid thing, just by coming into the forest after you- so I think it's still my turn, all things considered." Her eyes scanned the area in front of her, never letting the tentacly thing out of her sight. She really did need a better plan. Even though she drew first 'blood' it hadn't seemed to notice the tiniest bit.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. The creature followed the swords woman patiently. Oh, how sweet she smelled... It was intoxicating! With a raucous cry, it linged forward, all the tentacles along its back spearing at the woman as it whipped its lower body around, trying to capture her in a cage made of its own flesh, much like a snake strangling its prey. The four clawed arms at the end of its tail clutched graspingly at the woman as the pores in the middle of each hand oozed the acidic ichor. With so much space occupied by the monster, the ground was quickly becoming drentched in the devouring acid of the creature. It let out a beastial cry, causing the ground to suffer from a miniature earthquake as more trees burst from the sonic vibrations.
"GOD DAM IT , YOU JUST SHOULD HAVE WAITED AND TOLD ME WHEN I CAME BACK HOME , HOLD ON ILL SAVE YOU WITH A STUPID THING " it was now or never as each tree shattered Rave made on last Jump to one last Tree before jumping over the Creature where its head and neck join together "as a legend once said LEROY!!JENKINS!!!!!! " as she aimed the Branch Spike and hoping she was heavy enough as she dive bombed with Spike onto the creature , hoping it would stab in on landing, penetrate and nail it to the ground, separating it spine for it head , if not she was in for one hell of a rodeo ride.
