Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Rava stopped for a second to look around " that's because they cant change the traps , the traps where build as part of the fortress , moving them would mean you would have to dig up and destroy the hallway , these are very old traps and are made so if you dont remember them you would be dead, also this a kinda a holy place so changing the traps would be braking the rules.... but then again with all that happened.." she said as she as they start to walk towards a big door made of wood and gold with a golden stag beetle on it. " OK this is the vault , i font know what to expect but we will have to talk to one man ....the vault keeper , so let me do the talking , the vault keeper is very old and is harmless , but they understand and sometime a bit too talkative since they cant leave the vault door. so you ready?" Rava asked as they approached the door slowly hoping that Ikuze would not just attack the old man.
"Holy place? Sheesh..." the thief rolled her eyes. "No offense, but you're home town is getting weirder and weirder by the bloody minute." she said as they reached the big door. "Three guesses what this is." she muttered to herself before she frowned at Rava. "Rava, I've dealt with old people before 'kay? One of my gigs was at an old folks home once. I ain't about to smack them just cus they like to talk a lot." assured Ikuze before wagging a finger. "I will smack him though if he smacks me." she said before they went through the door.

Caitlin stalked the deck of her ship, fully dressed and armored like she was going to war, which, hell maybe they were. They had dropped altitude but were still high enough off the ground to avoid landing or anti-air-artillery. The air currents were stronger the closer they were to the surface and the wind carried her voice away the moment it left her lips, forcing her to shout to be heard as she delivered the charge. As for the little stow away, Caity's and her first mate had seen to that personally... the drove her far off into the mountains and dropped her a couple days hike from their final destination. It was a barrenlandscape and virtually no possible way she could catch up to them now.
"Today is a good day. Today we get to show off like never before so don't hold back. We're given a triple opportunity and we cannot waste it. Now is our chance to act boldly, openly and outside the law. Now is our chance to teach would-be Rogue competition that we have no equals. And Now, now is our chance to cash in on a wealth that the Stag Beetles have stock piled, waiting generously for us at the end of that rope," She pointed to the lines they would be using to aerial drop from the IRONDREAD. They were long but not long enough to reach the parapets. They would slide as far as the ropes reached, then the winged anders, and the platform jumpers would help the rest to get grounded. Some of the humans had their own special inventions and would glide down on those rather than have their Ander breathren touch and break their weapons.
"The Green Stag Beetles sent me an invitation, and we RSVP'd so we can't let them down! So go in there in a blaze of glory, and don't - hold - anything - back!!!!" She screamed so loud she could feel her lunges squeeze for air and the slender vein pop n her throat. She sucked in a breath and grinned as everyone around her cheered and pounded their weapons against the deck and against each other. Cait jumped up on the railing and ceased a rope in her hands. Below them was a stone fortress, the same one that they had discussed in her cabin when drafting a plan. The others followed in her image and started scaling the ship and swinging from its haul in great leaps. Caitlin threaded her rope through the hand guard of her sword and gripped the metal as she slid down, protecting her hands from rope burn and getting a smooth, quick decent in the process.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
the fortress started to ring it bells as they per pair for combat as the flying ship came in to view , the bandits quickly armed up as they got out to the court yard , both old and young quickly with not a lot of anti air the fortress's cannons could not aim up, both young and old in the fort Grabbed there blades and rush out to the courtyard. they where follow by 2 commanders , one was a normal bandit bigger then the rest welding a huge blade. the other dressed in doctor robes and doctor's mask , all covered in blood as he cleans his blade. "well looks like we got guests" said the doctor " looks like Rava got some help , shameful that someone who meant to be dead keeps coming back." the other said as she turned to the doctor. "well ill let you welcome them here . ill protect the inner fort , not like they will get around you." the doctor nodded as he continued to go "well you are the leader and the uncle. so ill see you after i have 'operating' on the guests"
the 2 split up as the doctor followed the other bandits to greet the visitors
Rava nodded as she open the door as they entered in a huge room 5 huge stone doors and in the middle a old man with rags and a chain that attached to the floor that on a collar. the old frail man looks up as he see the door one and the person who came in. he got up and slowly made his way over slowly.
" Rava ... your alive , how , the mask man told me you where dead after your son was born like how your mother died." there is a big long silence for a second before Rava spoke . " Duncan , it good to see you, no i managed to survive birth, but i was abandoned ." the old man smiled " well you know how to make a old man weep " he said which then he slowly sit down as he coughs. Rava kneed down to him " a are you ok?. you don't look well" see said as she looked at her old friend. "no ,the mask man poisoned me .... he planned to abandon this place to lock the secrets forever here...... since they want to recreate a new king" before he sputtered some more. Rava looked over to Ikuze to signal her over, to her Duncan was one of her friends who she grow up with before he became the vault keeper at the fort , if she was gonna to complete her mission , she needed Duncan to open the vault as well as hoping to find a way to save him at the same time.
"These jackarses did the same dung to your mother too? Sheesh this place is messed up..." said the blue haired thief as she walked over to this Duncan person. "Look, sorry about the whole... you being poisoned thing... But we're kinda on a clock." explained Ikuze. "Think you can open this vault? If we're gonna stop Rava's kid from turning into this messed up king, then we need to "borrow" something from behind those doors."
the old man coughed as he looked at the blue hair girl "well mores the problem of the target you want, the child is no longer her, the masked man had ordered that focus should that the prince was hidden away as safe from all that would want to kill the bloodline. if you seen the fleet of boats leaving that was them heading north to some sort of hidden fortress there" he spluttered as Rava patted her old friend's back " Duncan? what is here?, poisoning you would mean they intend to lock the vault until you where replaced to keep something here, something more valuable? " she asked as the old man tried to get up " y yes , not only your grandpa's weapons , but the Codex is here , the bock of the 1st bandit king. i hear that they stole a blacksmith so he could repair the blades using the codex's guide of making them back to there glory for the new king. however i hear he was unsuccessful and killed." Duncan managed to stand up and was making his way over to a wall with marking on each brick of the wall as he started to press them in like switches , buttons to a vault code. " i if your here to hurt them, take the Codex, wi with would really hurt them so much they would make an effort of getting back at who stole it. making the commanding bandits fall to disarray for a while until the mask man gets them back in order, on top of that you will find the map in it to the bandit king's vault." Rava came over to him "Duncan... thank you , once we grab them we will get you out of here and cured, i cant let them get away with things like this any more."
"So... they took her kid to this hidden fortress place for whatever dung they're gonna pull, used this Codex thing to try and remake some kinda blades for the kid to have when he gets older, this same Codex which has got a map to yet another vault." said the thief as she tried to summarise what was going on in this crazy place. Whilst Duncan worked on opening the Vault, Ikuze took a look at the chains binding him here.
"Alright, before I start picking any locks here, any traps or weird arse Ca'allan magical dung I should know about?" asked Ikuze. "Cus, I doubt we have the time to find whoever the hell's got the key to this and get back here to save this guy, eh, no offense."
sorry this is late , i had some drawing for this but with the shout out , gotta push this along , so drawing later Duncan looked over to the blue haired girl as he pressed each part of the wall "it just a chain with a lock , it not trapped at all young one," he said as she pressed the last stone in , suddenly the vaults slowly started to open , inside each there was Gold , Gold in piles and piles , years of stealing had shown before there eyes , however in the middle vault was a stone table which had a book on a stand and 2 Blades on another stand, Rava eyes lit up " the Codex.... and the Arms the swarm" her grandfather's weapons and his book of all know bandit history . she had never seen then before until now , she slowly went upto them and picked up the book and the blades , the blades looked like they had been re forged but the Ruins on the side where warn down. she took them over to Ikuze as she held out the book " Listen , this is most impotent thing that they are expecting to get back , knowing my luck i may not make it if we are found. since they will come back for you i want you to hold on to this , just incase everything goes wrong."
she know something would go wrong , her gut that had been cut open ,sown badly , cut open again and sown up again and stapled kept telling her something was gonna go wrong , but she expected it . she know that one way or another in the end of this she may not make it out 100%.

The distraction from above worked just as planned. Before Rava or Ikuze had a chance to be caught, the BoR pirates rained down from the sky, some dropping grenades, some firing guns and rifles while others spewed magic during their decent. Caitlin reserved her own powers for later. She had her sword out and gave a satisfying battle cry as she neared her landing. Blades were raised up to meet her but she simply drew up a platform six inches above their reach and rolled off of it, letting the majority of her fall break on that invisible barrier before the rest of her momentum sunk into her knees and ankles on the real ground. It still hurt but she ignored the pain, nothing broken. "HAAA!" she shouted as her blade thrust and ZINGGggged against the first adversary she found. It click click sucked as it deflected metal and cut into flesh. She was back in the war, her mind a blank, her body on autopilot and she was no longer a lady... not now, now she was a machine, and she was deadly without conscious.
"Gotcha." she said as the old man told her there was nothing to worry about. Whilst Rava went gaga over the loot, the thief quickly picked the lock holding Duncan to this place. "Done... kinda insulted actually. drat things rusted as all hell." sighed the thief before she looked over in the vault, her eyes widening at the sight of all the gold. "Oooooh~" she cooed, her mind already trying to figure out how much of it she could safely get away with herself as Rava offered her the old book. She looked down at it and took it from Rava. "Well now you've gone and said that, of course something's going to go wrong. First rule of burglary, never say out loud anything resembling stuff going wrong, until it does go wrong. It's just tempting fate too much." informed Ikuze as she regarded the rest of the hoard. The thief bit her lip before sighing.
"Alright, lets get going then. We've got your daggers, this book, and the bloke that understands them as a bonus... I say we get back to the boat now, tell the boss what's what, and then figure out where to go from there." said the thief as she looked to the two humans before looking at the way they came in from. "Soo... know a quicker way out of here that'll get us to the surface? No offence to you, but I doubt you'd survive the swim in your condition." she said, nodding at the old man.
Duncan nodded as Rava took his arm and helped him to walk "true young one....... also the book is in English already " which Rava decided to lead the way since she know the way out. "we got to chance it with the wall up top , come on this way" Rava said as she begin to guide them out through the halls of the lower fort toward the upper levels and ground level.
as the battle raged on above , it was going bad for the bandits , there numbers had dropped from 40 to 11 with a few of them holding on, they where out numbered and out gunned as they had never seen guns before , they where used to bow and crossbows but weapon was tearing them apart . the Doctor was still alive among the numbers and he made his way through the battle , quickly trying to keep his brothers alive with crud stitching and alcohol as well as making sure any pirate came his way was on the floor in minutes . he then saw the answer he wanted to see as the eye of the doctor targeted what looked to be a woman who was formidable as she slayed his brothers in battle. he made his way over to her and kept out range "am guessing you are the person in charge of these fellows that are killing my brothers? I am surprised, I thought you pirate would not pass up getting the bounty on one of the most wanted bandit but here you are" he said as he pulled out a blade "tell me before we begin , Rava ? is she still alive? , if so am surprised that my worst stitching didn't slowly let her bleed to death by now." he said as he checked his sharpness on his blade. ready to begin his 'operation' after his question is answered
(Cait, remember your 4th post on page one on this trial, enjoy)

Caitlin didn't realize at first anyone was talking to her, not until there was a blade in his hand and it was aimed at her. "tell me before we begin, Rava? is she still alive? if so am surprised that my worst stitching.." That was all she needed to hear to know this man would be her most satisfying target of the night. Caitlin's mind turned to dark thoughts, her sword arm burned with anticipation as she circled the man. Her men were rounding up the last eleven, taking no prisoners as per her instructions earlier. None of the men foolish enough to rise to their challenge would be left alive. It was about the message, and the message was - don't send your refuse to our shores to bleed all over our docks... because you WILL die for the offense
"You must lack creativity, doctor," she slurred the word, and eyed the way he carried his blade. It was a heavier kind, and she could see the way it sagged in his old hands. "Those stitches were bad but I assure you, I can do much - MUCH - worse, allow me to demonstrate," She Struck! Caitlin came in sharp and flat, not swinging wide but cutting in from the center out. His blade was as slow as she expected it to be, but she wasn't looking for a one-blow kill... she wanted to leave him in shreds, so many shreds that even the best stitching couldn't put him back together let alone the worst.
Ikuze followed behind Rava and Duncan, her eyes darting across every step of the way, the sounds of battle echoing down to even the lower levels from above. The thief grimaced as they moved. "I hate this place... damned walls echo too much..." she muttered under her breath before the trio eventually reached a doorway. Ikuze stowed the daggers into her belt, and passed the tome back to Rava. "Hold this for a minute..." she said as she slipped her guitar to in front of her, raising her leg to use her foot to press down on the door handle. Her fingers held firm over the strings of her instrument.
"You two may want to cover your ears... I'll direct it to anyone out there but the acoustics... well..." she warned, waiting for the two of them to block their ears before she pressed down with her foot. "Three... two... one!" she said as she opened the door, looking out as a trio of Bandits were on the other side, fencing with some pirates. "Ca'alla's drop your blades!" she ordered, lacing her words with her Deceit magic, and powering it further with a chord from her guitar. The trio shuddered as the magic took hold, the pirates wasting no time in taking advantage of the situation and cutting down the bandits. "Way out?" asked Ikuze, one of the pirates hiking a thumb behind them.
"Boss has got the drop point secure. Some freak in a beaker mask though's fencing with her with a bunch of knives. Looks like one of them freaky medic types." he said, the thief nodding. "Gotcha. Tell the others we got what we came for... mostly. If you boys feel up to it, there's a big arse vault with a stash so large that I doubt even the airship would get far with all of it in her gut. Mind the floor though." warned the thief as the trio set off down the tunnels they had just come up from.
the Doctor did not expect the patient to be this fast .. he didnt think as he felt himself being sliced up from his core "your ...... not human ..... no human other then..... the kings .....could do that ......" as he began to fall he began to giggle as in slow motion he saw his peaces come apart "ok .... you have won .... this battle ....... but .... you can ....never beat ...us ....ha hahah ahhahh..ahhahah... dont you see the funny thing ...... we are a .... swarm .... kill one of us .... and more will come.....for the king " his last words echoed as he hit the floor and exploded into the finely chopped peaces , only leaving his mask and a pile of red, white and green.
Rava had guided them to the last part , all that was left was one more room ahead of them and then they be out , resists had been little as the fight above could be heard , as they race to the door to the last hall , it seemed this went off without any trouble .... the odd thing was , where was the villagers? or where was Axis or were was that bad feeling that death was gonna get her coming from? , this was odd when they came so far to have not been stopped by anyone.
(Ikuze, next post its boss time , as soon as they are in the hall , the boss will show himself, get ready )

I'm afraid not so - Ikuze and Rava's next post are retreating with the bounty. This trial has lasted far too long Caitlin didn't listen to the final gurgle of words that spewed from the doctors mouth. She wouldn't dignify him by hearing his last breath. He didn't deserve it.
Instead she turned back to her men and the left-overs they rounded up. A few followed her orders, cutting to the quick and laying waste to 6 of the 11 would-be surrenders. Caitlin stalked up to the cowards with her brows low over her angry eyes. Blood splattered her skin and clothing in heavy patterns, a clue to just how many bodies were bled by her own hands.
She didn't stop walking when she reached them, she didn't explain herself a second time. She just pulled her elbow back, then swung forward and up like a music conductor - using the length of her blade to split a man vertically up the front. The final four jumped and backed away from her, running into the hard and unsympathetic chests of her men. She picked one out, and once again, wordlessly struck. The blade went in at the neck, blood trickling down its metal plane for a few seconds before she pulled it out and watched with dead eyes as the body sank to the ground.
Still silence... silence except for the hyperventilating to her right. Her gaze cut to see who. The individual, so very similar in appearance to Rava herself, started shouting "No" and clawing at the pirates blocking his exit. He begged, again and again, "don't, please dont..." and his voice was loud in the empty courtyard. The other rogues from her air assault made their way over to see what was happening. "PLEASE!!!!!!!" He screamed in terror when her muscles coiled and her hand struck quick and true. He crumpled to the ground and said no more.
Now there were two left, and every one was watching. Caitlin slowed down, not out of hesitation, but out of exhaustion. Her mind was heavy from mixing the past and the present together in one battle. The war, and the mission... Her eyes sunk low on the next victim, sizing him up, wondering if he were truly guilty or not. His hands were slicked with oil. He'd been on the parapet pouring the flammable fluid down on melee fighters. Weighed. Measured. Found guilty.
"This is for Rava," She said, barely raising her voice loud enough to be heard. She put her blade, (blood and all) back in its scabbard and lifted her hands. He eyed her wearily, questioning the sign of surrender, and he should. She wasn't surrendering, she was reaching forward with her open palm so she could get close enough to strike a match. Her hands were overly warm when she snapped her fingers and a tiny spark jumped an inch from her fingertips to the fumes an inch from his oilly pair. (Pyro I) The spark followed the gases back to their liquid component and a flame caught and spread from it. The man shouted in horror and threw himself on the ground - rolling around and trying to put his hands out in the dirt. The oil rubbed off of his hands in small streaks, but then he rolled over those streaks, lighting his clothing on fire next. She shook her head but did not comment on it.
The one and only remaining Green Stag Beetle was on her knees at this point, sobbing to herself as a fiery death claimed the previous man. Caitlin turned to face her. She stared at the woman blankly. There was no sympathy in her face, but she kept her feet planted where they were. A jostle came from the BoR crowd and Juniper pushed his way to the center. He stared for a moment at Caitlin, a stillness passing between them, then he busied himself with snatching a knife from one of the other pirates. He stormed over to the kneeling woman. She turned her tear streaked face up to the man and choked on the words that might have been a plea for mercy. He didn't give her time to work it out.
"Shh, shh shh shh," He said as he knelt behind her, covering her eyes with his empty hand while dragging the blade across her throat with the other. Seconds later he tugged her gently backwards and laid her still body on the ground with ease.
Just. Safe. --Caitlin
