Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Looked at two. Felt betrayed. Max, gone now. With women in red. Too late. Furrowed brow. Scoffed. Glared. Mala not wrong. Mala not bad. Why scold? Mala, not bad. Hunched, hung low to ground. Defeated. Mala bad? Frowning, she backed away, glancing at the two, then at other people. Felt unsafe. Felt nervous. Didn’t like this. Wanted to hide. Tables, too open. Looked at windows. Curtains, hung at sides. Windows, open. Could escape, but didn’t want to. Max, could not abandon. Stranger, safe? No, can’t be. Women in red, never safe. Mala not wrong, just, needed to be alone. To think. Mala, not bad. Can’t be bad.
Crawled to curtains. Got up, wrapped herself in them. Hid in them. Tried to think. Tried to disappear. Wanted to hear, wanted to stay. Unsure of what to do. Liked curtains. Curtains safe. Dark. Not judge. Not misunderstand.

Edelweiss sighed, watching Mala's expression change into that of a scolded kid and then go cocoon herself in the room's curtains. Rather strange, but if the redhead was being frank that was a little bit cute. And at least Mala was quiet now, not snarling nor biting anyone. Having her eat something healthy (or anything besides a single apple, for starters) was proving to still be a challenge, but Edelweiss figured that once this overgrown child was hungry enough, she'd accept to eat. Meanwhile that, she should finish her own meal as well.
"I'm sorry that you don't feel safe around me, Mala, but I can guarantee I won't turn you." Not unless she's given a drat good reason. "And whenever you're hungry enough, you can rejoin the table and eat. Max will show you to her room later (there are curtains there too)."

Mala walked off and hid herself away. Max sighed, stepping away from Edel to return to her food. She felt bad for the girl, maybe she shouldn’t have brought her here. She felt like it was steadily becoming a worse and worse idea. People stared, Edel almost got her, problems and problems. For what? So a girl could be off the streets and be safer, that was right. Like Max was happy to be.
When she finished her food, she went over to the window Mala was hiding by and looked out the window. She would have around here until the girl decided to come out, no matter how long it took. There was no going back now.
"I only go out to get me a fresh appetite for being alone." -Lord Byron
Still didn’t trust woman. Not hungry. Waited. Long time. Legs, wobbly. Standing, too long. Wanted to crouch, but couldn’t. Waited. Did not stir. Then footsteps approached. Listened. Louder then stranger. Stranger, noiseless walk, silent tap. This one, audible, but still soft. Opened curtain to look. Max stood, looked out window. Waited? For Mala? Changed mind? Wanted to be friends? Come back? Mala uncoiled. Pulled at Max’s sleeve. Urged her to join cocoon. “Safe.” Pointed to cocoon. “Warm.”
