Once everyone was assembled, Caitlin let out a long breath and straightened her shoulders, fixed her posture.
"Right, well, Thank you for coming... we have some business to do."
She walked around her desk to stand behind it with the assembly of pirates and thieves on the other side. She pushed around some papers to hide a ledger beneath the clutter, a ledger of all her assets on sea and in the sky. Some of them were struck out. Angry black ink blotted the once proud names of vessels she'd owned. Ignorance was bliss, and they didn't need to know the blows the Brotherhood had already suffered in this short amount of time. Instead, she slid plans forward toward her audience on two separate bits of paper. One featured a charcoal sketch of "the Prometheus" - the EIRALS Flag ship, which had once belonged to Commander Skye, before he was denounced.
"I'm going to need a new acquisition, and with it, a new - experienced captain - someone who can can jump in cold Turkey and fight a war. Now normally I'd leave this particular piece of eye-candy in the army's hands... but with their attention split between fighting anders and the invaders, I suspect it will go to better use flying under our flag. I believe you all may know this vessels former captain, and if you don't I invite you to meet him now as he has recently joined my ranks. But no one is above the code, and even he needs a trial... and for this man's trial, I think acquiring the EIRAL's flagship would do nicely."
She gave them the same speel she'd given Skye moments earlier, except this time she left out the part about their assets that were already adrift when the war began and haven't since returned.
"Lorraine, Thrak, I'd like you to join him. Lorraine, this trial will account for yours as well. As for the rest of you," Caitlin tapped her finger on the other page she'd put forth. "Emily Grace, Pyre, Ikuze, Rava... you'll be tasked with transporting my most valuable asset of all, and getting him OUT of Lodan. He wont go willingly, and he wont go alone, so this is going to be a challenge for you. Especially since I insist no harm comes to him or his immediate staff." She looked them all in the eye before revealing any more. She wanted them to know how serious this was to her.
"I need you to take the Baron Marquel hostage, he and his butler and his Housekeeper Maria. Take those three and get them out of Lodan. Take them to one of the safer city-states up north. The further, the better. But don't take them by train. If the EIRAL are transporting civilians out of dodge, then they'll be the biggest target an enemy army could ask for. Trust me I know. That's where I would strike if I were them." It was dark, but true.
"Both teams need to achieve their missions without being followed.... whatever you do - do NOT lead spies back to us. Both of your 'cargo's are so valuable people are going to notice. It's your job to make sure they dont until the coast is clear. I dont care how you do it, or who you have to hire to join you, just make sure it gets done properly. Any questions?"
