Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
OPEN TO ALL "Ah man..." groaned Amon, resting his chin on the counter. "At least we're back...ish..."
"At least you got a lot accomplished," noted Abby as she finished dusting the shelves and began sweeping the floor.
"All that's left is to put some final touches," noted Abe from his usual perch next to the door.
"Hrm," Amon grunted in agreement. Though he accomplished a lot, he ended up having to delay his progress to work on EIRAL's orders. Said orders ramped up exponentially after an explosion occurred at EIRAL HQ and Martial Law was decreed; at least Cait's operation was seemingly successful, due to rise in Skye Wanted posters. All that was left now was to put the finishing touches on Icarus and Chariot, though Strength needed to wait a bit longer, and he needed the necessary Skill to finish it off.
Thus the reason for his return: money. That, and he did promise Edel that he would come out as soon as possible. Plus it wasn't like he couldn't return to the warehouse; just not for as long.
With a sigh, he awaited for whatever patron who decided to grace his presence.

It's not like the sight of Amon's shop was new to Edelweiss. Even with Amon being absent, she still passed by it once in a while to get to different places in his District. When going to see or buy anything, or on the way back from aforementioned activities. What was new was actually seeing it open again - as in, open not because some MM worker decided to dust the place or some dumb thief tried to rob things, open because there were people working inside. Did Amon ask someone to reopen is his place, or maybe... The redhead figured it wouldn't hurt to check and crossed the door. Lets see if Amon finally unpackaged himself from his warehouse.

Andronikos wandered into Amon's shop, looking warily around at his wares. His shoulders were hunched and his hands shoved in his pockets. His eyes fell on Amon, and he straightened his back and tried to look presentable, but his eyes wandered once again to the mechanical merchandise on the shelves.
"Well that was fast," thought Amon, lifting his head as he noticed that customers began to file in. At first he was elated at the sight of Edel, but that eventually died down as he saw the other patron...Andronikos, was it? As long as the right hand to High Commander Pain-in-the-Rear was around, there were only two things on Amon's mind: protect Edel's identity first and foremost, and protect his relationship with her.
"Welcome to Amon's Automatons, can I help you?" he asked in a neutral tone, hoping that Edel would get the hint...and just as importantly forgive him for acting callous.

There is was, an all-business-mode Amon spotted. Aaaand a stray Andronikos a little more to the left. "Good day--- Oh, hello Captain Andronikos. Have you been faring well?" She greeted the soldier with a friendly smile and wave of hand before turning her gaze back to the mechanic. Oh she knows that guy, Amon. Though she's thankful of you for your... precautions. Too bad you want to pretend to not know her, so she'll have to play accordingly. No welcome back tight hugs then. Viktor road into the city on the trademarked bike his father had crafted him and parked right in front of his shop just as he did every morning when prepping to work for the day, but as he removed his helmet he paused to peer at Amon's shop. Was it really open? Oh joyous day! The red headed mechanic threw the helmet onto the back of his back, ran into his shop to gather all of the monstrous paperwork and key set he owed Amon, then hurried over to his shop. To his surprise, there were already two others there and so he quietly--or tried to be-- made his way tot he counter to dump the papers on top. "I found you a new apprentice," he declared with a large grin with no regards to any previous conversations the other mechanic might have been having. Honestly, how could one be so unaware and lacking in mannerisms.
...That's right, he forgot how hectic it got around his shop.
"Hey Edelwiess. Unfortunately, I do not specialize in clocks; that would be Gabe across the street. The music box, however, is ready," Amon replied, motioning to the Twins to grab it in the back. "Oh, and Captain, could you pass the word that I finished EIRAL's orders and that they are ready to ship-"
It was then that he was interrupted by Viktor. "...What apprentice...?"

"Miss Edelweiss," Andronikos murmured and nodded in acknowledgement, then nodded in Amon's direction in response to his previous comment, even though there now seemed to be someone standing in his way. But once again, his eyes wandered. What would Jovena like? He knew she was back on duty by now - but he thought a gift of some sort would be appropriate.

As always, Andronikos wasn't one to talkl much. No surprise here. Edelweiss turned to look at the other two, Amon who had (for some reason she'd have to ask later) pretend to not know her well and ginger-buddy Viktor who she only knew from occasional far away glances but never talked to. They were chatting of something about an apprentice.
Oh well... she could wait. And just stood there.

While Amon responded first to the others Viktor gave a sparing glance at both Andronikos and Edelweiss, smiling and nodding to each. The man was large and likely able to snap him in half with just his pinky Viktor was sure which made him wish he had NK-5 with him--but would that really make a difference? He'd probably eat NK-5 for breakfast. The woman--was that a woman? Yes, she had to be, the mountain of a man called her miss. Either way, he would find her attractive. No, no, no he had to keep his head straight because there was no time to dally. Oh, right, apprentice.
"Hm? OH! Right. While you were busy with your... uh, whatever it was you were doing and Gabriel was doing his work and I was doing all that paperwork? I met this girl who is new to the city, right? And she's into robotics--wants to work with Nikolai and I figured I'd send her your way. She seems pretty smart if not a little bubbly. Anyway I think I rudely interrupted." He turned to Edelweiss with brows slightly furrowed and a hand at the back of his neck. "Sorry," he'd tell her.
"...Fun...let her know I'm back I guess, and I'll see her at some point..." Amon replied with a sigh. "Though in all seriousness, thanks for helping me out. It may be a bit longer before I can do the paperwork myself, but I'll definitely compensate you for your time. Oh, before I forget: I will take you up on your previous order for the synthetic skin, but not for the Twins, there is something I want to test out; I'll let you know when i need it."
At that point, the Twins returned with the music box. "Ah, here you go," he said, carefully handing the box to Edel. "Careful, it's a bit...fragile..."
He then glanced over to Andro. "Can I help you find something Captain?" he asked, a small hint of impatience hidden in his voice, wishing for the man to be done with his business so that he can act normally again.

The redhead just waved a hand in a calming gesture and replied a quick "It's alright." in response to Viktor's apology before turning her attention back to Amon. Oh she understood perfectly what he meant by 'fragile', besides it being a delicate small music box. Tech in Ander hands tended to be fragile indeed.
"I'll be careful." She replied with a nod, reaching out a gloved hand to hold the music box. So long as she didn't try to use it, wind it or otherwise open it if it's already winded, it should be fine. Just in case, she mentally hoped the box was still un-winded, but although she wanted to ask Amon about that minor detail it's not like she could do so unconspicuously while Andronikos (or anyone else from EIRAL) was nearby.
White the silver-haired mechanic turned his attention to Andronikos, Edelweiss turned to Viktor. Or at least she guessed that's who the man is, since she could remember glimpses of him walking around the Merchants District and he matched the descriptions that had been given to her before. Well, only one way to be sure... "Pardon for the sudden question, but are you called Viktor Croswell?"
Andronikos shuffled and seemed to find quite the interest in the floor, an uncomfortable aura rising from his person like perfume. He glanced at Amon before murmuring "Do... Do you know what a woman would like?"

"Oh yeah, her name is Alice. Alice Wulfgang I think. She's real nice and you'll like her--who knows, maybe you two can have a few dates," he grinned from ear to ear at Amon and wiggled his brows up and down. The poor fool had not been aware one bit that Amon's girlfriend was standing only a mere few feet away from him. Afterwards, Amon's attention was now stolen by the other two patrons and Viktor attempted to busily distract himself with the toys that occupied Amon's shop until his own name fell on his ears. Turning to look back at the owner of the voice, he blinked.
"Uhhh," was all he could muster as his tan skin paled a little and his heart race started to pick up. Normally, it was exciting when people recognized him--but only when he knew them. He did not know this woman and never made a formal acquaintance with her so his mind raced to wonder where she had heard of him. He doubted his name from the shop had gotten around yet unless that little one eyed frog Stephen was blackening his name for not making his bike... But perhaps he'd met her on one of his drunken excursions--or perhaps when he was high? Then that left him wondering what sort of embarrassing way had he met her. Coughing lightly into his hand, he then shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck as he shuffled around the shop so that he could place himself between her and the door should he need to make a hasty retreat. "I am, yeah. Have we, uh, met before...?"
It took quite the willpower and some internal screaming to not punch Viktor in the throat...with his metal arm. That, coupled with his jealousy senses tingling from Edel somehow knowing Viktor would have caused him further discomfort from not being able to throat-punch Viktor, were it not for Andro's sudden question.
"...Uh..." Amon replied, doing a quick but subtle glance at Edel. The small pauses from the Twins didn't help either.
"...Well..." he started, rubbing the back of his head, remembering his gift to Edel. "...It depends: do you know what she likes? If not, I know it's a bit cliche, but it really is the thought that counts..."
And maybe he'll think of getting a gift somewhere else...
