Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Jasper walked in to the shop with something simple in mind. He placed what little he had onto the counter along with everyone else's and gave a quick smile, "Deceit II, please." He have to come back when it was less busy, and he had more money to spend. Current EMP (18) - Skill Lvl II (16) = 2 EMP Remaining

Lasair stumbled into the skills merchant, a bottle of whiskey dangling from his hand and an obvious stench of alcohol resonating from his figure. It had been a bad night for him, a bad week too by extension. Nothing had been going right. Not at home, not at the guild, not with friends, so he found himself searching for the answers from the bottom of every bottle he could get his dry little fingers on. Why had he come to the skills merchant in this state? That was anyone’s guess.
He coughed into his hand before dropping the sack of EMP on the counter. “I uh, ‘ere. I want Poison the third.” He hiccuped. “And, uh, Speed the first.” Another hiccup, followed by a short fit of coughing. “And, I don’t know I guess Terramancy the first too.” He reached his grubby fingers into the bag and pulled out two coins, the left over from his purchase. “I’ll come back in a couple days…when I’m more sober.” Stumbling over his own feet, he turned to exit the shop then. 42 EMP - 24 - 8 - 8 = 2 EMP remaining.
Max walked into the shop silently, avoiding the drunken man as he stumbled out. She went up to the counter and placed her EMP down with a practiced smile (one she needed to master for performing). "Knife Fighting III, please. I'll hang around the shop now until you're free. Thank you." 43 EMP - 24 = 19 EMP remaining

Skye walked in, covered in sweat and face red from exertion. His sword was strapped to his waist as usual, but this was his first time visiting without being a member of the military. He'd been training non stop since his...accident, but he'd gone as far as he could go for now. "Sword Fighting III please," he said, setting his EMP on the counter. 44EMP - 24EMP = 20EMP

Caitlin had enough of feeling helpless when others suffered around her. She wasn't going to risk it anymore. Today she stormed into the merch shop with a purpose... One she should have fulfilled on his previous visit, when she naively thought she was too busy for it.
Time had proven her wrong. So much pain could have been avoided if she'd handled her business the first go round.
"Take it," she said, sliding 32 Europium across the counter to the merchant. "I'll be back for Health IV, at your earliest convenience." She was willing to go out of her way to get the training. The sooner the better. She had more money to burn, but not enough for that golden fifth... the maximum level of health. She could buy other skills in the meantime but she chose not to. She'd wait. She'd get the money, and she'd be back. 68EMP - 32EMP = 36EMP left. purchase: Health IV
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
after a long time of thinking Rave came over to the merchant and placed down 32 Emp on the table "show me how to make better armor and how to wear better armor, please" (current EMP and skills) * Rava 32 Europium ~ Skills: Smithing I, Pistols I&II, Rifles I, Medical I, amour I , KF I, UC I, SF I&II, GSI,

Clairee slipped in the door quiet as a mouse and took a long stroll around the shop, making sure to stay out of the direct line of sight of either the door itself, or the register. She didn't want to be seen by anyone who knew any of the Donya boys. Once she felt mostly safe, She came around the counter and tapped the merchant on the shoulder. Quickly and quietly she spoke her order, and set the money on the counter. Her eyes darted every few breaths to the door to make sure no one influential (in her life) entered the space.
"Frostmancy III please, and ... Telekinesis I." It felt like forever to pick a time slot and put her name on the books, but soon as it was over she fled the building.41 Europium - (Rank III) 24 Europium - (Rank I) 8 Europium = 9EMP left

Lorraine came to the shop with a cloak draped over her body and a hood concealing her face. Inside she set down a pouch of forty EMP. "I would like to see what you know about Sword fighting IV and Pistols I if you may."

Jovena didn't hide or mosey about, she had no reason to. In fact, she entered the shop fully dressed in uniform, not thinking anything of it, depsite her recently acquired, first hand experience and understanding of the uniqueness of Andersweltlers in Lodan. Still...
She oogled the tomes beneath the counter glass.
"Might I have.... " she looked at her total of 27EMP.... "Knife fighting II?" She desperately needed it, no arguing against that given the outcome of that debacle with the anders.
Uriah raised an eyebrow and looked around at the collection of goodies that were still available for sale. Taking a moment before placing his EMP down upon the table before speaking out for what he would want. "If you wouldn't mind Projection II please, sir." Projection II - 16 I have 21 EMP Total Left: 5 EMP

The redhead returned again, the day before his appointment to learn the bought skills, and had a few more coins in his hand. "I found my missing coins! I want one more skills for our lesson tomorrow, if that's okay. Projection one, if you don't mind." There were bags under the redhead's eyes, but he was clearly in better condition than he was the last time he came here. Would he stay that way? None could say. 10 EMP - 8 = 2 EMP remaining (again. it's always 2 remaining)
Post by Kalum Wulfgang on Sept 20, 2015 18:58:17 GMT
Kalum made his return to the shop days later with less coin but coin all the same. "I appreciate what you showed me. I would like to see if you could show me something in Knife fighting I and Polearms I, if you may."
Walking back in, exuding an aura of smugness, the doctor slapped down another chunk of change onto the counter. "I change my mind. I want the rest of health too." She grinned. Make that Master Doctor.
Health IV & V = 72 EPM Current EPM = 73 EPM 1 EPM remaining.

She knew exactly what she was here for, the same thing she usually came in for. Today though, like those times in the distant past, she wore her tattered hovel clothes. No fancy dresses, nothing to give away her change in status amonst the artisans district.
"UC III" she spoke bluntly at the counter, placing 24 Europium on the tabletop and sliding it across to the book keeper - the skills merchant himself.
He penciled her in for a slot and she nodded, mentally scheduling her return for the training to take place. After this visit she'd be one step closer to untouchable on the streets. 38 - 24 = 14EMP remaining

"drat it how could I have forgotten to get it..." Zona cursed as she stepped into the shop. As she looked around there seemed to be more people in here than the first time she had been here. Sighing some she began to make her way to the counter, at least none of them were up there talking to the man right now. Tossing some EMP on the counter, "Pencil me down for telekinesis as well. I want the soonest time zone you have." Zona said as she turned to walk out, cursing at herself all the while.
