Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

(a reaction thread to Decree of Martial Law) it had happened, word had finally reached Roy about what happened, over half month of training and waiting for his sword to return to him, on the day that it did this news finally came out , he looked at the Decree of Martial Law notice. this just made things more difficult, one of the few men he had honor for had been arrested for something he may or may have not done and got out before anyone know what had happened. he had always kept to himself when he was a sword for hire with only his wife fully knowing him inside and out. he consider that the commander , his friend , the person who let him join the army and let his wife stay in safety , that was honorable. Roy had seen stuff like this happened before in the wars he was in. how one man take the power off another , as this new person in command , Roy could only feel that this man was like the rest who where like him , only out for power and control. to sacrifice people for power, it was something Roy didn't like at all
Roy remembered why he came to lodan , to stop his life as a sword for hire , to find a home for him, his wife and his son to live , and to grow old and have a good life. not thrown again into someone else's power dream. Roy wished there was an answer to all this. one that was quick but also with out bloodshed.

Kalum strode passed the announcement board in the lunch room and didn't even bother to glance over as he made his way toward the tables. Resting at his shoulder was the large golden eagle he kept as his companion but as she was too large to sit comfortably on his shoulder, one of her talons rested against the side of her head with her talons raised so as to not prick him. To compensate, Kalum cocked his head to the side to make it easier for them both. He plucked several fruit from the banquet tables for himself then a sliver of meat for the bird before finding a place to seat himself. Once seated, the bird left his shoulder in favor of the table where he set the meat and immediately she began tearing into it with her beak.
With his hands folded over his mouth and his eyes glazed over in contemplation, Andronikos sat in one of the booths, his meal growing colder by the moment, untouched. It seemed like just yesterday that he and Jo had angered the chef in this very kitchen - and although it was stressful at the time, it seemed like childs play to the mess that spanned endlessly before him now. The Decree would be helpful to them - that was without a doubt, but there were too many unanswered questions, too many variables, and frankly, Andronikos was too tired and angry to give a dung about any of them.

Roy taking his sword and placing it on the Arm Sword hilt holder , He moved over to the table and sat down , he know sooner or later this would turn on his head , would the queen after this is done will look in to throw out or kill outsiders from far away lands? had to speak in a way , but how do you speak to anyone in the armory who wanted to be the next for promotion and get more money for serving, how far will people go for greed? ........

While Caracalla ate Kalum rubbed at his eyes with his thumb and forefinger of his right hand. By whatever deity out there, he was tired. When he dragged his hand down his face he saw Andronikos seated a bit away and then another man about to sit. One he knew the other not though judging by the posture of each, neither looked particularly approachable not that was at all disappointing to Kalum. He preferred his silence. When he glanced down at his fruit he saw which he'd grabbed. An apple, his favorite of fruit, then a nectarine, and a peach. Recalling the many peach pits he'd seen on the ground on his first arrival, he plucked the apple and the peach then strode over to gently set the peach just beside Andronikos on the table before turning to approach Roy. "Good evening," he said in passing only to stop in front of the boards so he may read them.

Jovena had kept out of sight for a few days. Everyone remembered that life-altering night differently, so few had been as close to the action as she herself, but even she didn't know the half of it. In fact, she had passed out before the 2nd half of it took place. The martial law would be news to her, but first she awoke in the infirmary, a heavy bandage wrap twisted around the full length of her forearm, bloodied gauze on the clinical tray beside her. She sprang to life - everything coming back in an instant, and her eyes ached from the unexpected brightness... It had been dark and rainy moments ago, hadn't it? Time escaped her. She rubbed her head and reached for a glass next to her cot. It was empty.
"Water..." she needed some. No one was in the room with her though, so she slid from the bed in her hospital gown and fumbled for her uniform on the bench at the foot of her bed. It was ruined. covered in blood. Her own blood. and some strange stain that might have been the necro-imps. She felt lightheaded by the memory but she pushed it aside. She needed a drink. She needed to hydrate.
That is why she walked to the lunch room, taking her time and favoring her injured arm, with the sleeve rolled to make room for the bandages. She entered the space to see so many solemn faces. One of which caught her attention and she couldn't look away for a long moment.
Andro. He saved her life from the explosion.
He saved her life.... and she couldn't remember anything past that.
Andro grunted as he took the peach that Kalum handed to him, and nodded sharply in thanks. He began to take a bite as his gaze wavered over to a familiar figure, standing with eyes in his direction, a bandage around her arm. Andronikos paused mid-bite, and met her eyes before glancing away.

She looked that bad huh? Jovey glanced down at herself, and mused her uninjured hand through her tatty hair. Must be quite the sight. She sighed. Oh well, couldn't be helped, she'd already walked in here so no turning back now. Besides she still needed that water.
Jovena made her way behind the counter like it was her own home kitchen, so used to being in her now that the boundary didn't exist to her like it did the other soldiers who were not accustom to cooking in the DFAC. She grabbed a glass and turned over the lever that started gears churning that would activate the pump and push clean water through the pipes to the sink. She waited only a moment before it began running from the facet. Once the glass filled she turned off the lever and leaned back on the wall, cool glass of water to her lips. The water soothed her scratchy throat and made her feel better.

Roy stood up and looked at everyone , he face told everyone he was not a happy bunny as he placed his sword down from his holder device, the scabbed rang with the sword as he turned and said out loud to every " DO YOU ALL BELIEVE THIS" Roy said pointing to the notice. he now wanted answer , he know he was not going get any from the men here fully but he could try like he had done so many times before.
he know by the end of the day he would have to do something , something to fix everything or something to rest his mind of what happened , the honor of the man in question had to be proven that he did what he did . if his men know fully then he would know.

And there went the silence. Kalum cringed at the loud voice and exhaled through his nostrils as he turned his gaze on the man who had just spoken up. A flick of his eyes to follow the man's finger landed Kalum's attention on the board and more notably the only recent notice on there.
Could they believe it? Kalum was not there for the event so whatever transpired he could not be sure but from what he had learned from whispers and idle chatter, a convict escaped and anders blew up a historical landmark--and not just any, but one that belonged to the military. Shrugging, Kalum offered a reply, "Considering a convict escaped and in the process his terrorist allies demolished one of our structures, I can believe it, yes."

Roy turned to the man , his eye looked deep into his as he came closer to him "considering the Convict in Question was the former commander, a commander who gave fellow Man a place in the army." Roy stopped before the man " let me ask you something , when you joined , who made you do your Oath with ?" Roy was looking for once answer , hopefully the man in question he wanted to know.

Kalum cocked his head back slightly given the five inch height difference and met Roy's gaze with mild curiosity. How problematic, he thought to himself. "I swore my oath four years ago outside of this City. With whom does not matter. A convict is a convict."
