(Open to anyone)
Elaine kicked a can out of her way as she headed home. She'd had a lot to do all week, running back and forth between the theater, the Curio, and the Merchant's District. She was downright ready to just flop over here and now. But the new Martial Law in place prevented all residents from being outside after the curfew. All because of some commotion at ERIAL headquarters where a man got busted out by a bunch of unknown assailants. ERIAL had gained the right to invade and disregard all privacy. It seemed a bit ridiculous to her at the time but ERIAL matters at the moment weren't any of her concern. SHe was more worried about getting home on time. Elaine might have been cutting it a little close this time. She had stayed late at Archies working in her sketchbook on new ways to arrange the shop. Archie had disagreed the whole time saying the place looked perfectly fine and was unwilling to let her continue by constantly flicking her pencil and causing it to make large streaks across the designs. Finally the chime of a clock somewhere in the mess alerted her it was time to high-tail it.
Today however as she wandered through the city she heard some shuffling behind her, like a soft padding noise. Turning slightly she didn't see anything but an empty street. Pulling her jacket tighter around her shoulders she turned back listening. As soon as she began walking again she heard the same raspy padding. This time though she didn't turn, didn't do anything until she saw a dusty russet head bobbing just at the edges of her vision. Elaine smiled, she knew that fuzzy head from anywhere. "Hey there Cas." Elaine said and only got a snort in return.
Following alongside the Ander was a large fluffy mutt. Russet red, brown, and white in color. He was stocky and was covered in so much dirt that you could barely tell what color he really was. He padded quietly beside her ears flicking. He was the stray that Elaine had been feeding and taking care of around her home. Each day she saw him more and more, sometimes following her around the city and others waiting patiently outside the back door. He got bolder each day he interacted with her until she could sit for hours with him at her side or at her feet. Her mother was even letting him come in the house sometimes if he wasn't filthy.
(This is basically what Cas looks like.)
