Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Prepare For Trouble, And Make it Double [CAEsAL & MI trial]
"Perfect!" Basil exclaimed, before returning to a sort of musing expression. "Well, I could have a skeleton hand give you a thumbs up from out of the ground, yeah?" He asked while winking and mimicking the gesture.
Inie nodded with a soft chuckle. "That'll do just fine." She clasped her hands behind her back as she started forward merrily, shooting Basil a curious glance here and there. "Soooo, if you don't mind me asking, why skeletons? I mean you're not cursed or anything are you?"
Basil winked "That's for me to know and you to never find out." The guards were in sight, and Basil glanced at Inie, putting his finger to his lips before drawing a book shrouded in a battered leather cover. The whisper of flipping papers was the only sound from Basil's direction as with a subtle red glow, a skeleton emerged from the ground and with rickety steps, shuffled towards the guard from behind.
Inie was gone without a word, making her way towards the guard beyond the first. Crates were stacked about the area and happened to be large enough that she could move between them without alarm. She crouched at a crate to pull out the shard of glass on her person. Dust hit her face as she leaned against a crate. She could see the guard around the corner, her heart pounding like a drum from anticipation as she waited for the go ahead.

"Well let's get started, shall we..." Leo said as he removed his hands from his pockets and stretched them behind his head before placing them back in their pockets.
Emelo stood behind his brother as he adjusted his mask some, making sure it was on straight, "So all we have to do is distract the guards right? So we could start with that guy." Emelo said as he pointed to the man in the front of the small group from the shadows.
The man he happened to be pointing at was the same group the two assassins were after though neither of the twins knew this, nor did they see the small boney man behind the guard coming after him. To them, this was just someone they needed to distract so the job could get done. It never even crossed their minds that this guy might have been on the assassins list to kill.
"Ya, let's start with him." Leo said as he stared at the man, "I'm sure if we make enough noise we could get all of his friends over here, making it easier for whats-his-face." Leo added forgetting the name of the other MI in the trial with them. "Only question is, how should we mess with him?" Leo let a small grin creep over his face, after all he did love messing with people.
Smiling slightly Emelo thought of the perfect thing they could do, "Well we are in this because of magic aren't we? Might as well turn two into one." He questioned with a smile.
Leo smiled right back knowing exactly what his brother was talking about. Focusing in on the man his brother had pointed to, Leo summoned just a small bit of his magic as he sent a thought to the man in question, "Two people are coming. Everyone will say there are is only one but don't let them fool you." Smiling some Leo nodded to his brother as he turned and began to walk up to the man.
If all went the way it normally did, the man would panic slightly and draw attention not only to himself but the twins, causing the small group to gather, all the twins had to do was make sure they could move freely around so they could trick and mess with the group even more. The two then made their way over to the group, making sure the man in question could see both of them, before shifting slightly and turning into one.
"Look alive men we have some intruders coming!" The guard said, not realizing there was a skeleton behind him, as he stared at the twins, letting the spell of deceit enter his mind and manipulate his thoughts.
Emelo darted off to the side behind a crate as his brother stood in front of the group, slowly making his way off to the side to his behind a different set of crates on the other side of the group.
The group of men turned to see who the intruders were only to find out they were staring at just one boy. The group turned to look at one another before turning to stare at the man who just called out to them, it seemed like the job was getting to him, "Man, there is only one kid here." Someone called out as they all turned to look at Leo.
Leo just stood there for a moment, smiling all the while. Everything was going the way they had planned.
(Hope y'all don't mind but I'm throwing these guys in to play!! After all this is their trial too... And besides they need something to do since their partner hasn't come too quite yet.)
What!? That wasn't - who -... The initiates from the other group? Basil had been under the impression that dealing with the guards was their job, and with this new establishment, he found himself unsure of what to do. He knew Inie would see what was going on as well, but was unsure as how to signal him. He already had a skeleton in use, and that was difficult as it was... Fine then. Forget the mages. With that, Basil whispered more of the spell, and the skeleton teetered and came crashing onto the guard's back. He, though already distracted by the twin's appearance, bellowed as bones battered his skin, and the skeleton let out a clatter next to his cheek with a hollow grin.

“You.” Lasair’s voice was stern as he took a step forward, hand landing on Jayce’s shoulder. The kid had been too quiet. Too inactive. And didn’t step forward when he was told too. Those were too many penalties chalked up against him. “Change of plans. You can have your trial another time. Twins, your new task is to distract anyone and everyone. Keep them occupied. Play cat and mouse. Once the assassins to their thing, we’ll come in and start moving stuff out. You need to keep distracting them even after that time.”
Leaving Jayce behind, Lasair walked off to follow Danny’s order. He needed to watch not only his recruits, but the other new ones as well. Keep an eye on them all from the shadows; the place where is guild was doomed to reside. Jayce, message the MI leaders when you're interested in having your trial. Until then, your character is on probation and not officially in the guild.
What was Inie doing? Now would be the perfect moment to strike.... Plans don't usually go through, do they?... Maybe he would have to take it into his own hands? But he didn't want Inie to loose his chance either... So maybe just one of them... One of the guys... But the two mages were dealing with the other ones, so... Basil sighed as he began conjuring another skeleton. Maybe he could do something useful in that respect, if not killing the guards himself...

The two continued on just as they had planned. They did get the feeling that their other trial mate would get cold feet and just stand there, go figure... Though a few things changed here and there their goal stayed the same, distract everyone, the only thing that may case trouble was this whole skeleton mess...
As Emelo began to make his way to the other side of the group he accidentally ran into someone. "Oh... sorry about that..." He said as he looked up at the man ready to play the 'I was lost and have no idea where I am' card, "Wait a minute..." He said to himself, this guy looked familiar. It was one of the people in the room with them, one of the assassins being trialed with them, the only thing different about them was a rather large, old, and what seemed to be dusty book. "What are you doing here?" Emelo asked as he quickly looked around making sure no one was around that could hear them.
Leo just stood there smiling at the group of men as he watched them all slowly walk in closer. He noticed though that the small skeleton was after the one man the two brothers decided on as their deceit target. As the man went down due to the skeleton a small group of men gathered around the guy to make sure he was ok, in that commotion Leo focused on a different man pinning him as the new deceit target, though for right now since he hadn't seen his brother appear yet, he decided to hold off on the new spell and work with what was in front of him
"I though you had some kind of 'special target' or something like that?" Emelo asked as he stared at the man, confused as to why he was here going after these guards. "If you were trying to make your way to where you needed to be don't worry about taking these guys on. That's our job." He said with a light smile and a bit of kindness to his voice as to make sure it didn't seem like he was mad, "We are here to distract them, so your guild can do what it needs along with ours." He added, hoping to get a little clarity as to why he was after these guys.
"Now, now, now..." Leo said as he walked up to the group of men, "I'm sure the guy is fine, if anything you all are going to be the ones to kill him if ya crowd around him like that." He said with a light shrug as he smiled some, looking here and there, not only for his brother but for points and spots he could use later.
The group of men turned away from their unconscious friend who lies on the cold ground to bring there attention to the new intruder in their mitts. "Who in the 'ell are you!" One of the man call out only to be followed by a wave of 'ya's or 'tell us who you are' or 'why are you here's.
Leo only shrugged at the endless barrage of questions, watching as the group slowly grew in size. Well if this wasn't distracting people then he had no idea what would. He smiled lightly.
"You must be the mages. A pleasure." Basil said as the other two bumped into him, but his concentration was lost and his second skeleton disappeared into a shower of dust. No matter - it wasn't doing much good anyhow. Do not share sensitive information, Basil reminded himself. He assumed that telling them of their targets would be considered as such, and he decided to avoid the question. As it was, their attention moved elsewhere, as an uproar bellowed from the group of guards, of which Basil had thought there were only two, but now he wondered which ones were to be taken out. Don't spill blood pointlessly... But was it pointless if he were to take them out on his own? It would achieve the goal, after all...Would he be able to? Desperate times call for desperate measures, after all...

"Oh sorry..." Emelo said as he realized the man probably wasn't able to give out and information on who he needed to go after, "I get ya can't tell who you need I just never thought you would be sent after mere guard..." He said with a light smile and shrug, only to get his attention turned away as the crowd began to become more rowdy. Turning back around Emelo smiled and gave a slight wave. "Sorry I can't stay and chat but I'm running a bit late." He said before running off in the direction he was heading in the first place.
Leo stood there smirking the whole time as all the men slowly began to get closer, though on the outside he seemed to be fine Leo was slowly beginning to freak out on the inside. His brother had never been this late, either he got held up or someone found him out... No. If he was found out they would have dragged his arse out here and gone after Leo in no time, so it must have been the first of the two... Something was holding hims up... But what, could it have been another one of those skeletons?
Emelo darted left and right and kept out of sight from everyone as he made his way to the back of the crowd and up on higher part of the crates. He was in position. Peering around the corner for just a moment Emelo made sure all eyes were on Leo, and as of now, they were. Looking over to the other brother Emelo raised a hand with the thumbs up signal and waved it ever so slightly before pulling it back and peering around the edge again, waiting for his brother to disappear.
Looking up for a moment Leo saw the signal. Perfect! His brother finally got there. Raising his hands up, Leo placed them behind his head in a rather laid back kind of fashion, "You ask who I am?" He began to respond as he began to walk towards the crates next to him, "I'm just a simple kid, just walking around-" He said as he slowly walked behind the crates. Running off to his next spot as soon as he was completely out of sight.
"-Nothing special about me at all..." Emelo continued as soon as his brother disappeared, making it seem as though everything that the two said was just one sentence made by one person. Walking out from behind where he was hiding the boy looked exactly the same as his brother did, same clothing, same mask, same posture, hands up in a laid back kind of way. "You see... I was just in the neighborhood when I seemed to have taken the wrong turn and well-"
"-Surprise, surprise I somehow ended up here." Leo added, doing the exact same thing his brother had just done to him. Now that the two were on opposite ends of the group the game would be easy, just keep moving and keep talking. You can pause here and there but what fun would that be, besides that only happens when your about to end the game, so that can't happen quite yet. Shrugging some Leo hopped up on a crate next to him and watched as the men began to whip their heads back and fourth. Smiling some Leo singled out the man he picked just a moment ago and sent him the same message as he did the first, "There are two of them out there. Don't listen to anyone that says otherwise." (Deceit I used 2- Deceit I left 3)
The men turned left and right as the watched the boy disappear then reappear but in a new place. Confucian began to set in among the crowd as the men began to shout out questions. "Wha' 'he hell?!?!" One of them shouted as other called back in agreement. "This ain't even possible!!" Another called out as they all turned around to look at Leo. Meanwhile the man with the spell on his began to clutch his head as the spell began to work its way into his brain. Not all of it got through to him so rather than shout out that there were two people the man just began to look back and fourth, drawing some of the men's attention but being ignored by most. That is it wasn't until he began to shout "Get out of my head!!!" That more men began to turn and look, some turning back and accusing Leo of this. "You did this!" "What are you even doing?" "How is he everywhere at once?!" "How is this possible?!" "It has to be some kind of magic!" "Your a wizard Harry!" "Are there several people dressed to look the same?" They all began to shout, staring the boy down. (Everything that is said is by a different person, I just got lazy with the colors...)
Leo stood there a moment with a shocked look on his face, playing up the 'I have no idea what happened'. "What your think I did this?! But I'm just a child. I have no power to do such a thing." Leo smiled, backing up towards the back edge of the crate. "How could I have done that?" He asked with a some what twisted smile as he hopped behind the crate he was standing on.
"It's not like I'm in two places at once." Emelo added, continuing the sentence as though he was just talking as he hopped up on the crate in front of him, making it seem like Leo had just landed on that one from out of thin air, "And besides..." He began to added as he copied his brothers smile. Looking up slightly he let a small nod out to his brother, might as well add to the fun...
Leo watched as his brother nodded and everyone's eyes were on his brother. Quietly he hoped up on a crate on the opposite side of the group, same height as the one his bother was on and stood there for a moment waiting, standing the same way his brother was, making it seem like a mirror image.
The two stared down at the men as neither said anything, one being know by all, the other not even know to exist. Smiling the two shoved their hands in their pockets, "Even if I was in two places at once, magic just isn't real. So that could never happen." The two said in sync as they stood perfectly still and watched as madness slowly began to break out with in the group of men. None of them realizing that there were two different people in front of them, but instead thinking it was some kind of magic like projection. The two snickered as the men looked back and fourth at them.
(Feel free to take over any of the men, I don't want to make it seem like I'm the only one in control of them here.) (Oh and in all reality who are the assassins supposed to go after? I'm rather confused on that one...)
Because two heads are better than one.
