Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Fawn casually walked down the docks that held special ships in the harbor. The sky ships, all tethered to the port and waiting for their next outing. The green haired girl walked passed sailors from the sea and the sky and she tossed them greetings. Some returning the gesture and other just bluntly ignoring her. But she was here on a mission. The tattoos on her back practically itched in anticipation as the wind rustled her clothes and whipped through her hair. With a sly little smirk the woman slipped down an unused section of port and went right up to the edge. Out of sight from anyone passing by and not paying attention.
Stepping one foot forward Fawn peered over the edge. A large smile lit her face and she eagerly shook off ger jacket and tied it round her hips. Her racer back tank exposed her tattoos partially. Those tree branch tattoos began to morph and branch out into large sage and mint wings. Fawn stretched them out and back before flapping them lightly. She had waited all day for this. Closing her wings against her back the girl turned on the edge and dropped back.
The rush of wind in her ear was the best sound anyone could ever ask for. Flipping back over she snapped open her wings to glide away from the harbor. She spread her arms out to the side and just enjoyed herself for a moment.
Took in a large buried sigh, having dropped down a fairly large sack for his effort down upon a few crates. It was rather crude job in his opinion but bringing up some cargo for the airship's was rewarding itself, and hopefully after this job he would have it in with a captain of the ship for better advertisement and perhaps if the time came around... A payment free vacation ride but he didn't think he could do that for while. "Phew..." Wiping his brow the man took a look around the docks over to the numeral number, of course these most likely wasn't as many here as there were at the sea docks just because of the large amount of space each ship managed to take up and making sure they were properly secured was harder than expected when compared to a seafaring vessel.
It only took a handful of pallets later for him to finally get released from service, of course just bringing them to the dock and managing the inventory was enough for him and the rest of his co-workers could finish the loading. "It's a pleasure that you find our service satisfactory, I hope that you contact us at 'Cyclone and Torrent' for your everyday fairin' needs again." With a pleasant handshake and a generous bow the man finished up his business.
It was more than enjoyable to be done with those atrocious methods of work, having to carry and move things was such a hassle and it was much easier to oversee the project but when you start to fall behind scheduled times even someone like Uriah would do his best to help out if he could to keep a good reputation with the store. Though now this was his time to relax and since he was out at this part of town maybe there was something he could do to relieve himself of some stress. Though his attention was swiftly moved to that of a female stepping through a crowd, though she was greeting and speaking to the rest of community within the area as she passed by even Uriah could tell of someone with an ulterior motive. Though personally from his view of her he already didn't put here with those who spent their time on these type of ships.. Or at least directly assisted within loading or unloading them, perhaps she was some type of rich character seeking freedom after a long days work such as himself.
Following along the man kept himself inconspicuous from her, for the duration of her travel it was strange for someone to just 'randomly' come over to this sort of location without wanting any privacy but he was quite a man to pry in others affairs, but keeping his distance enough he would watch her spread her wings before hiding behind the wall before she dipped down out of his sight and began to soar outwards and away from the harbor. "Well my my.. Who would of thought." The man chuckled just smirking from a distance and walking over to the edge where the female most likely could see him now if she looked back in that direction. Raising his hand if she did to simply way at her from the distance. "Having fun?" He would almost shout where she could hear him but the sound most likely being lost back in the port by how crowded it was.
Fawn did a few dips and several backflips laughing with joy after each successful round. Arial acrobatic extraordinaire! Fawn suddenly slowed down a moment as she thought she heard someone yelling but she wasn't sure. Turning back she saw someone waving at her. 'Who could that be?' She wondered. Banking back to the ports she slowed a few yards out to just glide gently to the pier. The winged Ander stood on the top of a thick docking post to view the person below her. "I could be having fun, depends on who's asking." Fawn quirked an eyebrow and pressed her wings to her back shuffling them. She didn't think anyone around here would pay much attention to someone walking the street. Was this guy a creep? No, couldn't be. Too neat for your average weirdo. 'Hmmm....' She crossed her arms as she waited for him to answer.
Smirked as he watched the individual soar through the air in what seemed in a more or less carefree mood. Perhaps they were just enjoying the chance to actually stretch their wings for once and Uriah couldn't judge them for that but it was rather dangerous to do so this openly. It seemed only like a matter of time before she noticed him and most likely thought he was a weirdo of sorts and he almost expected her to fly away from and not even confront him but it seems like people can be quite surprising if you let them be. His emerald eyes watched her perch upon the post and question him.
"Oh please, don't act like such. I am just a simple observer of your talented aerial acrobatics.. You may call me Uriah, Uriah Han to be exact. Salesman and marketer among this town." The man turned to face her completely before giving a rather respectful bow and not much caring that she herself was an Ander unlike what he could assume anyone else in this town. "You're bein' rather reckless though. Doin' that here." He spoke out, in what almost seemed like a scolding voice but he wasn't about to tell her what she can and cannot do with her life.
"I am however amazed that you found a spot in which you can properly soar these skies without getting caught. I'm almost jealous I haven't considered it, but regardless I am quite pleased to make your acquaintance Ms...?" He asked for her name, or at least something he could at least put something to her face even if it was a flat lie.
Fawn studied him. Uriah Han eh? "Well pardon me but recklessness happens to be a great quality of mine." She said almost mockingly as she stood on her perch. But she wasn't annoyed at him, he seemed nice enough. "And I wouldn't technically call this a place not to get caught because you basically caught me." Fawn jumped down so she could be even with him now that she was sure that he wasn't a maniac. She would tell him her name and get on with her flying. "I'm Fawna, Fawna Evans. But please call me Fawn." She backed up a step. He could sit and watch if he liked. Or heck, he could surprise her and be an Ander as well. Which is what she was leaning towards since he was so darn comfortable around her.
Nodded his head in acceptance of the female when she spoke out her name, thus his body seemingly took a reflexive bow once again. "Fawn, it is indeed a great pleasure." He would speak out and look out in the distance. Looking at the horizon in the sky and the crowded city that was below it. "You must forgive me for following you, it has been awhile even for myself." Releasing a large breath he began to unbutton his light blue vest, before passing it off to the side and away from the edge and the slowly his shirt.
He didn't want to give the wrong idea to the female so for the majority of the task so he kept his back facing towards her. Even if she had began flying again there was no real issue as the man would only smile lightly thinking to himself about how busy he had been lately or even in general that he never took that much time to take care of a more primal need that his blood called for. "Now.. What was the spell again?" He questioned himself since being able to seal the wings back were more than a major importance and it only took a handful of moment before it finally came to him.
Leaning forward at the edge the man backed up about ten total feet to get some distance, twin what seemed to be black wings began to spread widely and almost stretch out. Starting to get a little excited the man could feel a rush of adrenaline running through him as he had not taken to using his wings in quite a long time and even when he did they were only for small enough periods of time and during the night that this was a significant change. Running forward he jumped the furthest he could off the dock and began to oddly enough plummet before starting to gain control and start flying again, having to warm up to using something that made him whole once again.
Upon further inspection his wings weren't completely black and were hardly black at all but under the right light were actually a vibrant green and dark blue, while there was a fair amount of white that expanded from a little more of half the distance to the tips of his feathers. "Wooooo!" He cheered happily, having taken a few moments to adjust and move his location further to the female in an attempt to keep up with her own acrobatics.
Fawn's eyes widened in surprise as he began to take off his clothes. 'Ok, maybe he is a creep after all...' She thought backing up another step. 'What does he think he's doing?' But as he shed the shirt she saw a tattoo on his back which was what was facing her. "Well that's new." She murmured to herself smiling slightly as he backed up and took a running leap off the pier. The green haired girl stared over the edge as it took him a moment to get his bearings. "Now who's being reckless?" She called after him smirking. There was no way she was going to allow him to have all the fun though.
Fawn jumped up and pushed down with her wings taking off from the ground. She shot straight up pumping her wings to gain altitude. Once satisfied she circled above him for a moment watching. With a sly smile she did a simple backflip wondering if he was going to try and copy. "Nice of ya to share the air with me!" She yelled out flaring her wings teasingly. No harm in being a bit of a show-off. The feathers spread wide trying to gain as much air as they could.
"'Tis a pleasure that you would allow myself to enjoy such a chance to share the skies." Taking the time to relish in the feeling of spreading his wings once again, it was a little weird at first to get used to almost to the point of what should be second nature was becoming foreign to him. This was most likely caused by his parents and their security to never really allow to do such things openly but that was one thing about being an adult, somethings you get to do what you want and have to face any sort of consequences that follow along with it.
His attention was drawn to the female as she began to 'demonstrate' her talents of aerial acrobatics to him almost as though she was trying to egg him forward. Smirking he only kept himself in place for a moment as he thought of what he should possibly do, then as quickly as it took his wings to flap he began to soar around in a circle, expanding his wing-span to the maximum and testing the waters of the wind for his banking. Gaining speed over time while he flew in a circle the overall size of which began to decrease as he was banking harder and harder and gaining speed, then at the peak of little maneuver he pulled up drastically and into a vertical spiral with multiple spins in which seemed like a good idea at the time but proved to become quite a problem soon after.
As he reached up further past the female in height the excessive movements began to disorientate the male in his display and he began to lose his posture. The world starting to spin around him as he came out of it and unable to keep balance even with his wings the individual began to plummet downwards at an aggressive rate with a rather loud cry of surprise.
'Such a fancy talker!' Fawn snickered as she tilted back and forth using few flaps only to keep her altitude. She backed up slightly with a small dip to watch him as he circled and made a fantastic display. Well, fantastic until he began to lose his center. "Be careful....oh....there he goes." Fawn said as she watched him fall past her. She quickly dove after him tucking her wings in. Once she got close enough she caught hold of his ankle with both hands and gently leveled out so as not to hurt him. His weight pulled her down slightly but she could manage.
Once she had managed to gain an easy glide she flew up. As soon he got his wits back she could just drop him and he could right himself. "How's it going down there?" She asked glancing down at him. "Anything look like its supposed too?" Fawn got to a reasonable height and headed out towards the horizon. The winged Ander let the wind whip her hair out of her eyes.
silently thought to himself how strange it must look for people who might of been looking into the sky at the time, a big winged creature just plummeting after trying to win a 10/10 score with no judges and if he smacked into any nice buildings on the way down they would most likely be scrapping parts of him and paying a lot of money in property damage for quite some time.
Though what luck! It seemed that his descent was halted by the Fawn and would keep him around for just a little bit longer as he began to regain focus over his senses and shook his head. Then with her release over his leg he would correct himself and get back used to how flying should be. "Thank ya' very much madame. Everything seems to be getting back how it should be." He was more than grateful for her assistance and began to raise up in the air, following her towards the horizon as he spoke out from a distance.
"Tell me, are things supposed to look a particular way?" He questioned, which could be odd in what context he would be asking but it seemed like something he wanted to know anyway. "Is the sky supposed to look a particular durin' every sunset? Or perhaps a grievein' widow should always be in tears over her loss?" The man smirked and shook his head to his own questions, showing that it was a more playful manner of speaking than to be rude and offensive to ones opinions but also a good chance to see how Fawn perceives the world around her.
Fawn looked over her shoulder, "I couldn't just let ya fall, but your welcome." Turning back the woman kept flying. They were out far enough to continue the acrobatics without the risk of going ker-splat on the city. But the almost-pancaked man behind her began to chatter again.
'Oooh! Such theoretic questions!' Fawn smiled. "Depends. The sky changes because of the sun, the light, the weather, and the time of day. So if you mean in color and appearance then no, I don't think a sunset should look particular every time. But if you mean the type of phenomenon that it is then yes, a sunset should particularly look like a sunset no matter how you see it." The Ander swiftly spun around to face him halting herself in the air for a moment. "But the second is a trick question." Fawn smirked, "A widow should rightfully grieve the loss of her husband.....unless she killed him herself then she would have no reason to grieve, only rejoice." With that Fawn gave him cheeky grin and quit flapping. She easily fell into a steep dive laughing.
The wind whistled past her ears blocking out any other noises as she pulled her wings in to fall faster. The speed sent a rush of adrenaline through her and she loved it. As the water grew closer it was either pull up or make the worlds most deadly dive into the ocean. But the daredevil had to get those last few seconds in, even with the blue expanse nearing in dangerously. Finally a several feet above the rolling waters she snapped her wings open and flattened out parallel to the dark depths. Fawn dipped a little lower and put her hand in the water. It was cool to the touch and her hand marked a small trail that cut through the waves. After a moment she flew back up, heading to their original spot high above. She had been waiting to do that.

Chuckled lightly towards the females answers as they were more than satisfactory for each one. It was often quite fun to ask such things but there was a major difference than asking and answering and being able to find one who was able to give said answers without to much thinking time made it all the more enjoyable.
While the duo gracefully traveled their distance it seemed like Uriah kept more than a fair distance away from Fawn, just letting his jade eyes simply observing her and the way she controlled her wings. At least she seemed to have a much better control or what would be a better term was experience, leading him to further believe that this wasn't some out of the blue thing she wanted to do. It was more than likely that she practiced on a completely average basis and somehow managed to not get herself caught, or perhaps people have seen her but there was no rumors like that going around that he knew of.
The blare of noise that was caused by flying was simply just another reminder that he was still not entirely used to this whole thing. Even in his younger teenage years he didn't take -that- much time to sneak around to get in a quick flight or two but perhaps that was just something on how exactly he was raised. Though watching the female began to keep up speed in her descent near the water made him at least understand a bit on what went through her head and drove her to move forward with particular things. Perhaps she liked the danger and found it more of a challenge if she could actually pull something off instead of wiping out in which caused him to chuckle.
Taking off as well he would do his hardest to follow any nearly copy her movements to the best of his overall ability. Of course as he picked up speed he didn't wish for the two of the to collide which was another reason he kept his distance but also the risk assessment in his head proved that it wasn't much worth it, pulling up much sooner than she did and raising back into the air. The strange scent of the sea also made him a little dazed at just how strong it came on exactly making him curious to how anyone could ever chose to spend a lot of time out at sea.
"Not much of a risk if it all works out in the end huh?" He asked her, circling around her and attempting a few tricks of his own. Mainly flying with his back facing the ground but he wasn't in a particular mood to fail once again though he really didn't mind watching someone else did it. "Upon further inspection you're quite different than you appear. I take it you have quite a... fascinating day job?" He joked around and wondered a little more about this particular female, there were quite a few things about her that interested him and stood out more than just other people.
Fawn wavered slightly at some wind resistance but held her ground. She scanned the area noting the sparkling ripples of the ocean causing a glare. She flattened out her wings using them as leverage to keep herself steady. "There's always a risk everytime you take to the air even if your not doing stunts. The tricks are just an added flair. For instance my wings could give out any minute for one reason or another and I would be in quite the situation don't you think?" The green haired woman banked sideways slightly. "Fascinating day job? Well, if working in a small cafe under management by an anti-ander boss then sure! I have the best day job anyone could ask for. But if your talking like preforming or such as that, even though my voice is pretty good if I do say so myself, then no. I have the most boring, soul-sucking job imaginable."
The waitress flipped over onto her back to cross her arms and look at him questionably. "What's your 'fascinating' day job Mister Han?" Fawn asked before being forced to roll back over in the sky and manage her altitude again. She did a large loop up and over him to get a little closer. He was pretty far back, probably from the stunts. "Surely you have job that's absolutely riveting." She teased lightly. She didn't exactly know how much sass this man could handle before he got scared and ran off. The woman grinned to herself as she glided a few feet above him.
"I don't think you'd have to worry about that... Currently, just because I owe you one. Though you have a fair point that these act just like any other part of our bodies and could be prone to giving out just like anything else." He nodded his head in mild agreement, he didn't think he would ever hear another Ander that shared the same unique features say that even the most basic of flying could be difficult but he assumed that it was mainly caused by the body's overall condition and the weather.
Though listening to her day job made the man laugh, just simply and for the most part following with no special tricks over the water with simple wing strokes to keep him airborne without much difficulty. "Oh my, that sound positively trite with someone of your acrobatic talent. Though the stigma that comes with our blood can be quite troublesom, and I am willing to speculate you're not quite as acrobatic on your legs." The man just chuckled seemingly happily but he meant no real offense, from where he stood he was so poor at flying overall because of how much time he spent on the ground and just had to assume that given the chance the female would rather take to the sky then anything else.
Raising his eyebrow as Fawn asked about his life it only seemed fair that he should answer something in return to her for his own questioning. "My job? I have various ones!" He should a more upbeat and enthusiastic side which was most typically common when he was out and about working on said jobs. "You could say I'm a Contractor among the town, usually for small businesses to advertise and get customers in on a regular basis. Marketing tactics and sometimes a few more labor oriented jobs on the side..." Sighs as he shook his head at the end, knowing that it was because of one of those jobs he was here in the first place but given how things played out he didn't mind.
"Personally I don't care if a business is anti or pro-Ander as money is simply money. Even then it's uncommon at least from what I've seen for smaller businesses to be actively against or weeding out Anders." Just giving out his two-cents on the very lightly touched upon subject the man nodded his head with what he thought, even if the female thought differently he could still understand her from how her boss acts.
"So ya wouldn't catch me if I hadn't caught you first? Talk about eye for an eye!" The woman laughed jokingly. Uriah was correct about the second part thought. Fawn was not nearly as graceful on her own two feet as she was in the air. "Just between you and me I only pretend to be good at walking. I'm not as decent on two feet as I look. I can barely keep it together enough to walk around the cafe!" Her wings were the two feet she never got to use all the time. Part of her wondered how much the original Andersweltler's used their wings to fly. She'd have to go look in the archives at HQ. Shaking off the ideas she glanced over her shoulder at him curiously.
"So ya do more than one? Ya don't exactly sound thrilled." She said narrowing her eyes against the winds. "You'd be partially on the right track. Most small places don't care as long as they get their money to say in business. But ya get an entire block of wealthy snobs who hate magic because it breaks their little toys then you can kinda see where this is going." Fawn waved her hand in a so-so fashion. It annoyed the woman to no end that people could be so inconsiderate and ill towards others. Everyone deserves basic human rights whether they can create and use magic or whether they can build amazing machinery. You would think most people would be fascinated by new creatures with special qualities like wings. But then again, the Andersweltler probably scared half of them. Fawn grew slightly quiet thinking for a moment. It was partially a habit to think while in the air. She snapped out of it and quickly came up with another question. "You work mainly around the Ports correct? Or do you have other tromping grounds?"
