Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to Edith Tober, Danny Ravensdale, and an optional two other MI members. Please note me first before joining the thread. And don't forget your mask The first mission, the one at the docks, had gone well, but not perfect. And besides, it was only the first step in a much grander scheme. Their little group needed more practice, not to mention that another new recruit needed to pass her test to enter the ranks.
Tonight’s target was a warehouse near the edge of the merchant’s district. A little birdie had delivered a message saying this warehouse was full of food stuff and was short on guards tonight. And what guards that were present, well, that’s what the new recruit was here to handle.
Lasair was there first, of course, the usual gold mask and hood covering his features. The gloves were off this time, as the weather was calm. It was a warm night, but a good night to go through with their plan. Danny should be arriving soon, as well as the new recruit, Edith. One or two other guild mates might be coming, but he wasn’t sure. Either way, this should be a quick operation. Get the goods, put the goods in carts, haul it away into the darkness of the city.
Edith nervously fidgeted with her mask and she paused on a roof top to her destination. It wasn't anything special, a plain black eye mask that blended in with her hair. It was all she could afford to get and or make anyway. It made her eyes stand out more too, but there wasn't exactly anything she could do about that. After she finished fixing it, she pounced across the gap to the next roof and kept sprinting, she bare feet making hardly a noise on the roof tiles towards to outer reaches of the merchant's district. This was a test, that much she knew, but the details she was given were scarce so she stuck with what she knew to do, and was head to where she was told to be. As a precaution she had sharpened her claws and bandaged her hands, in case things got ugly.
As she approached, a glint in the corner of her eye made her muscles freeze and lock in place just as she was about to head to the next roof top. After a moment, recognition made her relax, she knew that gold mask. She crouched and turned in Lasair's direction making her way towards him. Once she was about five feet from him, she jumped off the edge of the roof landing close to him.

Danny was hiding in the shadows of an alleyway watching Lasair. The new blood needed a trial, and Lasair had it planned. He was good at that. Finally the new blood arrived and Danny decided to make herself known. She advanced from the shadows she had been hiding in with the tattered cloak worn over her black clothes trailing behind her like oil. She stepped into view of Lasair and Edith and spoke.
"I'm glad you could make it..." her voice grated out. "Fox, will there be anyone else coming?"
Jak chuckled and stepped out of the shadows. "I 'unno who else, but I thought I might as well come along for the ride. Could be interesting." He shuffled and rubbed the back of his head. He was wearing a large, full face gasmask that looked quite shabby, seemingly with frost creeping from the breathing chamber and eye sockets. Jak stuffed his hands in his pockets, and sauntered towards the others.

A grin came to Lasair’s face as all three people came together at once. How was that for good timing?
“It is a good evening indeed,” he answered mostly to Edith, but it was directed at the other two as well. “I don’t think anyone else is coming, so let’s get this started, shall we?” He waved a hand and began walking through the alleyways. As soon as they came to the end of their walking, they could see the larger building sticking out from the rest of them. That was the target, and first things first were the guards standing outside it.
“You’re up first, Blackie. Knock ‘em out, but don’t knock ‘em dead.” He had a tendency to nickname people based on their masks, and Edith was no exception. “It’s too warm,” muttered one man as he unbuttoned his vest.
“Yeah well, we’re shorthanded tonight and you wanted the extra pay. So shut it.” This man was leaning against the building, smoking a cigarette leisurely.
A third man could also be seen pacing along the whole length of the building. He seemed to have the jitters or something, but whatever his problem was, neither of the other two men even so much as looked at him as he passed by.
None of the men were being overly vigilant. They looked when there was a loud sound. But other than that, they were content hanging out in their own worlds.
Blackie- oh forget it, Edith thought to herself. With a curt nod to the three, she surveyed the large warehouse a moment more before going back a few steps. She stopped at some crates, leaped up them, grabbed a protruding pipe mid-leap, and swung herself back onto the roof of the neighboring building. No claws were necessary to knock out a couple goons, but she needed to be smart about this too. The only man who was actively patrolling the building seemed incredibly scared. It would probably be best to get him while he was alone and quietly too. The other men didn't seem that tough, but numbers tend to make up for lack of strength, and so did weapons. Best to just pick them off all one by one.
She crept along the roof top until she had an angled view of the back of the building, an alley way with no windows. Perfect I'll just leave him there then. She waited a moment more for the pacing guard to round the corner to the back of the building. The second he was a foot a way from the corner, she leaped off of the roof, straight at his back. Mid-air she brought up her left knee to her chest, tensed her leg, and then stuck out with a well aimed kick to his upper back. The man made a wheezing gasp, indicating that the kick did it's job of winding her opponent, and his body began to move forward from the force of it. The moment Edith's right foot made the barest of contact with the ground, she gave a slight pivot facing the wall and the side of the man's body. She lunged sideways, staying parallel with the man's side, and brought her palm up to deliver the knock out. He stumbled forward, and before the man could do anymore, she stuck his temple with a quick blow. The guard's body crumpled like a leaf and Edith quickly grabbed him by the shoulders and set him down on the back wall of the target building.

The man in the fox watched from his perch as Edith took down the first guard. Good; only two more to go and then the rest of them could move in. She had some good skills, it was impressive to watch. While Edith did not make much noise, there was still something to be heard. The man who had been messing with his vest paused, looking towards where he thought the sound came from. “Didja hear something?”
“Nope.” This man continued puffing away on his cigarette. As soon as that one was finished, he dropped the butt and lit another.
Despite this, the first man was still uneasy. “What if it was something?” His only answer was a shrug, however, leaving him to stare in that direction uncertainly.

Danny nodded to Jak as she watched Edith work. So far so good. She crouched down so she could rest her feet while they waited and let out a small sigh.
