Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

The corner of his mouth twitched up slightly. It was as much of a smile as the man could muster. It was always a good thing to hear that your business was talked about enough to reach a stranger’s ears. “I have a small barber shop not far from here. It’s a quiet place. Next to it is an alley with an iron door. Head there after sundown.” He picked up his coffee and took another sip of it, sneaking a glance at the other workers. Were they interested in this information?
Setting the cup down, he continued. “Fjäril? You work with the entertainers I believe, correct? I can understand their reasons for wanting to find me. However I do not wish for the knowledge to be so common place that some people, like the boss of this place, can obtain it.” Edgar was usually a quiet man, but when it came to business, he was more than willing to talk. And the entertainers could be a rowdy bunch with loose lips when filled with alcohol.

The redhead chuckled. "You are correct about me. I lead the entertainers. There's no need for you to worry about the secrecy of your business, though; the workers I mentioned before would wish for it to stay running smoothly almost as much as I suppose you do." And while some eitertainers could be quite the noisy lot, information was also something of high importance for the whole of CAEsAL, and many got their daily bread exactly by either profitting from or making use of it. Those were the ones she is thinking about sending to pay Edgar a visit. Once the topic was important those were generally more prone of making customers/audience talk than the other way around.
Edelweiss made a quick head motion gesturing towards their waitress and the new customers she had just attended. "And since this Miss was so kind to inform the cafe's owner will be out for today and once a week, we should have some freedom to talk openly for a little while... Oh right, Miss, add another muffin to my order please."
Fawn started up a second pot of coffee figuring more people would probably start coming in soon. She listened quietly to Edgar and Edelweiss. 'An iron door? Classical paranoia or legitimate reason?' Tossing her questions aside she focused on what she was doing. Miss Edelweiss' request for another muffin invaded the humming thoughts of her waking mind. Fawn set the coffee grinds to do their magic and turned to take the small plate back for a moment, she situated another muffin on it and handed it back without pause. Then she got called over by the workers. Walking over she noticed their serious expressions.
"Whatcha need?" She asked. They mumbled some information to her quietly. A friend of their got found out and kicked out of his home. They wanted to know if she could help any. "I'll see what I can do. But you all should go visit the quiet one over there." She inclined her head ever so slightly in Edgar's direction and lowered her voice. "Iron door in a side alley outside of a barber shop after dark. Helps with hiding. My name gets you the first time free. But try and keep it on the underside." Fawna winked at the men and they grinned sheepishly thanking her for the exchange of info. So now she had to dig around for some way to help the poor bloke who got the boot. Fawn sighed, shoulders raising then dropping sharply. Her work was cut out for her this afternoon. The day job was more of a hobby now.

Edgar nodded, finishing his cup of coffee. “I appreciate the secrecy, and try not to send too many of them over at once.”
As he had been, he kept the waitress in his eye, watching as she went over to the new gusts (or maybe they were workers) and spoke to them in hushed tones. Perhaps she was passing news of his business along? How nice of her. But when she turned around, there seemed to be a look of trouble on her face. As she came by where he sat, he spoke up again. “No more coffee for me. Is something the matter?” He tilted his head to the group she had just come from.

The redhead also turned around to see what was going on. There didn't seem to be any true comotion, but that lot of whispering and then Fawna's giant sigh were bound to call her attention. "Is there anything wrong?"

Fawn snapped out of her pre-planning when the two spoke to her. "Just a scratch of bad luck." She said waving at the workers. "Poor man got kicked out by the tenant." The woman went behind the counter and leaned casually against the opposite wall. "And you should have plenty of good business in the coming weeks." She nodded with a confident smile. "So, if ya don't mind me asking Mr. Anapello, what put you in a barber shop by day and a back-alley by night?" She crossed her arms intrigued greatly by the idea. Who teaches the art of Ander invisibility services? She might pay it a visit even though she already had a tattoo stretching elegantly across her shoulder blades.

He tapped his claws on the counter a moment before answering. “My apologies to your friend.” Shifting in his seat a little, he tried to divide his attention across all the people present instead of limiting it to the woman asking. It was a valid question, and one people usually did not have the confidence to ask. “If you mean that literally; Amon, the leader of Mingo’s Merchanics, allowed me to use the shop I’m in. If you mean that in a different light, well. It’s a trade of sorts. A secret one. My teacher approached me and taught me the craft; and one day I may do the same. The specific techniques are not to be known to the public and neither are the suppliers. If they were, there wouldn’t be a business in it. Everyone would know how to blend in and the guards would know what exactly to check for when hunting us down.” He shrugged, letting his shoulders sag some. That was the best way he could explain it.

"Oh, I might know of some decent rooms available." The redhead smiled, a bit thoughtful as if trying the very idea in her mind meanwhile saying it, but didn't retreat the offer. Taking it would mean guild-recruiting. Not taking it and, well, she felt bad for the poor sod who got kicked out his home anyway and wished him all the luck he may get, but CAEsAL dorms are for CAEsAL workers. "They're for CAEsAL employees though, so it only comes for who works in the guild. What does the guy do for a living?"

Amon? Unfamiliar name to the winged ander bit she stashed it away in her mind anyways. As he continued on he confirmed her original idea. The talent he possessed had been taught to him. She nodded to what he said before turning to Edelweiss. "I can pass on the information if you like. I don't know what he did for a living but I know he worked with the construction crew on upper floor framing and roofing. Probably good and balancing and such." She said making some motions with her hands about being up high. The waitress left them to their talking as she heard the back door open. Entering the back she saw another human waitress joining her. The woman waved at Fawn while tying her blonde hair up and back. "I have some things set out for the cook. And you can share the floor with me today if you like." The woman nodded and set about getting her notepad and apron. Fawn pushed open the swinging door again to see the two men getting up to go to work. One came up to the register and she greeted him to tale the money and hand over change. He handed her at tip and left. Fawn stood for a moment working with the register.

The feline ander rolled her shoulders and then stood up. “How much do I owe you for everything?” he asked, picking up his gloves and sliding them onto his fingers. He had to wiggle his fingers a bit to make them snug, but they were on, causing his fingers to look slightly longer than they had been without them on. He reached into a pocket to take out a wallet then. It wasn’t exactly fat, but you could tell that it had some weight to it.
He glanced towards Edelweiss. “I’m sure you have no trouble paying your tab, however I wouldn’t mind covering it if it’s not a problem to you.” It could be insulting to try and pay something for someone, so he wanted to ask first, be considerate, all that stuff.

"Passing the information will be nice. ...Hm?" Edelweiss nodded at Fawna's explanation; the man was neither a crafter (of which both Mingos and CAEsAL) seemed to have in different variants) nor anything of sorts that could fit into the entertainment business, but CAEsAL was always in need of janitors and cleaners in general, as heavens knew the full-of-trash state of a theater or circus audience seats after any popular show.
At Edgar's offer she blinked, not having really expected that he'd want to pay her tab, but shrugged. "I don't have any problem with it, no. Thanks for the kindness." Not going to refuse free food if it was coming, that's stupid. She still didn't understand why people seemed to like feeding her once in a while, but that didn't mean she would complain.

Fawn listened and watched both of them quietly. She'd send the homeless one to the red head and everyone else to Edgar, but only a few at a time of course. Fawn pressed a few buttons on the ancient register as the drawer popped open with creak and looked up with a smile. "Three dollars darlin'." She said. It was cheaper than the average pricing but this cafe could run you dry if you weren't careful or didn't have a girl working behind the scenes.
The other waitress pushed open the kitchen door and gazed at them a moment. As if trying to decide why one customer was wearing all black. Fawn waved at her to move on, he wasn't a creep. Humans were so paranoid. The girl cast one more glance in their direction before going to check the menu board nearby. "Have a good day!" She told them timidly. Fawn shook her head, "She's new. Anyways if y'all ever need information or anything you know where I'm at."

Opening his wallet, he took out three dollars and handed it to Fawna with a nod of his head, and then too out another three dollars and set it next to Edelweiss. “For when you’re ready to leave,” he said simply.
“Enjoy your day, everyone.” Turning around, he pushed his way out of the shop and departed, wondering where he’d find himself at next.
