Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Clancy laughed a bit and smiled with a far away look in his eyes, "Ya sound like me mum. Don' worry I'll drink it all." Staying true to his promise he took a big swig of the water before going on. "So yer kinda new 'ere? Welcome! Have ya met any of tha other Mingo's- well other than Amon. 'E's ah really smart guy, Amon. Anywho, Ah think there's ah clockmaker- Gabriel sumthin-, Viktor makes clockwork bikes an' auto stuff; Iaco's an organ collected but 'e's kinda a doc like ya. It's nice havin' ah official doc now. Iaco's pretty good but he specialises in another kinda medical field." The pink haired man sighed, a bit of a dreamy smile on his face. Shaking his still throbbing head, he went on, "There are ah bunch of other but ah ain't met them all yet. Me? Ah own tha guns shop 'ere."

Humming softly in thought as she checked on the broth, the half blood pulled out two bowls and a ladle, answering as she scooped their meal into the porcelain, her eyes constantly trained on the pinkette as she worked, analyzing his every word and every expression. "Sounds like you've been around here for a while. I'd say 'I hope i live up to your expectations', but i'd be lying through my teeth" she stated honestly, moving back to the table to place down the two bowls.
She glanced at the display once again, clicking her tongue in distaste before clicking her fingers in revelation, turning on heel back to the kitchen. Immediately she pulled out a half of a cottage loaf, some butter and a butter knife, once again making her way back to the table with a small smile hidden on her features. Placing it down in the middle, Vieka finally settled down into the opposing seat, hesitating before finally undoing the clasp on the back on her head, removing her leather plague mask and placing it down on the table beside her bowl.
"Eat slowly, you don't want to upset your stomach any more then you already have." she muttered, Filling her own glass with crisp water before looking up, waiting for him to start.
"Ah, I ain't been 'ere too long. Longer than most ah guess" With the food now in front of him, the gunsmith realized just how hungry he actually was. Leaning down he sniffed the broth, practically drooling. "Woooow, this smells so good! Maybe ya should open ah restaurant 'ere too," he exclaimed in excitement. When she left to get something, he pouted. No way was he going to eat this food without her in the room but it smelled suuuper good. He clasped his hands in his lap and sat straight, trying his best not to look at the food in front of him before she returned. Upon site of the bread, he brightened, "Ooo! Yay, ah love bread!"
As they settled in Clancy grabbed his spoon and was about to take a bite of the meal but stopped when he saw her face under the mask. He just stared at her as she said something about eating slow. "Skyes above! Yer beautiful!," he practically yelled once she was done, a huge grin lighting his features. "Whaddya wear that weird mask for? Yer far too pretty ta be hiding behind ah mask! Oh! Do ya wear it cause people might hit on ya while ya work? That'd be a problem; I wouldn't want a half dead guy flirtin' wit me while I'm tryin' ta fix 'im up. Wait.. Then again..." He thought about it for half a second, shook his head, then went on with an eager look. "Or is it fer some medical reason? Ah bet it's fer some medical reason. Is it so ya won't get sick? Sould ya have it off now? I don' wanna get ya sick or somethin' then i'd have ta come over an' take care of ya- ah won't take no fer an answer. Lock yer doors if ya like, i'll break in! I swear," he puffed his little chest out as if challenging her to refuse him. Then his face dropped once more in surprise "Oh dear, are ya waitin' fer me ta eat? I'm sorry!" He reached down and grabbed his spoon which he accidentally dropped during his tirade and took a bite of the food. It tasted even better than he imagined. He could die and go to heaven and be totally fine with it. As long as he got to taste this soup. "Ya should really open ah restaurant," he purred, taking another spoonful.

At his exclamation, Vieka jumped non too subtly, her entire frame stiffening, eyes wide and an awkward shade of pink dusting her pale cheeks. Instantly, she wanted to grab her mask back and super glue it back to her face to hide from the embarrassment that she felt, but she couldn't so much as tell him to shut up before his mouth started flapping a whole list of strange reason.
'Oh yeah, he's a talker alright.' she thought dryly.
By the time his blabbing had stopped, the brunette had calmed back down and gotten control of the blood flow in her cheeks, a now neutral expression painted on her ivory face. With his tangent now over, the half breed picked up her own spoon, swirling the broth around lazily as she thought her next words over. After a small pause, she opened her mouth.
“I wear the mask to stop me from catching the stupidity of other people.” she mumbled lowly, her eyes downcast as she struggled to fight through return of the embarrassment she'd felt naught 2 minutes ago. Reaching over, she tore off a section of the bread and spread some butter over it. “So your breaking and entering wont be needed. Here.” she offered him the bread.
Clancy accepted the bread with as much vigor as a starving dog. "It repels stupid," he repeated with a mouthful of bread. "That's new, Ah didn' know masks could do that. I guess anyone would act srupid if they saw 'ow pretty ya really is," he flattered her with an honeat smile. "Though, ah don' think ya need it. Lodan has some of tha smartest people around. Ah guess it all depends on what ya consider stupid; sure, most of us can't write no fancy poems or solve intracit math problems or even read. But Ah like ta think everyone's ah genius in at least one thing. Fer example, yer a great doc an' ya got ah real knack for cookin' but i'ma make ah wild guess an' say ya'd be stumped if asked ta fix an airship engine. I'm alright at makin' guns but ah couldn't tell ya how ta pick up ah girl if mah life depended on it. We're all lackin' knowledge in sumthin'. If yer mask helps ya ward of stupidity, ya might be missin' out. Ah, whatdda ah know. I just make gun's fer a living." He hunkered down over his food and chomped away with an eager smile.

'Ah, He's not as scatter brained as i originally thought' she thought with genuine satisfaction; the light in her eyes seemed to shine a little more and a light quirk of her lips settled on her face as she pushed her bowl off to one side and rested her cheek against two fingers, watching the pinkette eat.
"Your assuming that intelligence comes from book smarts. Your correct in saying everyone has something they will no doubt excel in, but this does not necessarily mean that they are intelligent, nor does it mean they are stupid." She pulled off a small chunk of bread before popping it into her mouth, chewing before continuing. "Have you ever heard of the phrase 'stupid is as stupid does'? This is what i think. I think there are two types of intelligence: The book smarts kind that you have described, knowing how to do a specific task or talent and doing it well, and then there is the other type: Common sense."
Her smile widened, philosophy was always one of her fortes and she was rather pleased that the gunsmith had enough brains of his own to form his own opinions on things, a sign of intelligence.
"Common sense, a thing not so common any more I'd say. So let me put it this way: Say a very book smart man, an accountant or scholar for instance, leaves a candle lit in his house before he goes to sleep because he couldn't be bothered to blow it out. Would this man still be considered intelligent, or stupid, when he wakes up with lung fulls of poisonous air and a burning house around him?"

Clancy chewed his food as he listened to Vieka's point of view. Swallowing, he answered her question "Well ah guess tha obvious answer would be stupid but ah don' think one mistake, be it as big as burnin' yer house down, means ya fall in tha category of stupidity. Multiple mistakes of tha same kind might make ya seem stupid, like if this fella burned his house down more than once- but even than ah think bad luck an' forgetfulness would play inta the actions of others and yerself. That is, if ya believe in luck. If ya don' wel... Luck is as outlandish as magic an yet people are usin' that every day now."
He paused and shook his head, "That's ah whole other topic though. Stupid ta me is not seeing tha gifts ya got right in front of ya and appreciatin' them. Like ah rich fella sayin' he's got nothin' or a married man cheatin' on 'is pretty wife or even wantin' ta steal yer neighbor's sheep when yer sheep is just fine." Clancy's eyes lit up with epiphany "ah guess I jus' described greed. Greed is pretty stupid at times. Whatchya think?" Vieka was fun to talk to. He rarely had deep conversations with other people like this.

"Greed is stupid, in most cases. But if it wasn't there, we also wouldn't want any progression for ourselves." The half breed replied, tilting her head and resting her shin on an open palm as she thought.
"I suppose that could be a good thing, If we were all just happy with what we had i mean. But it all sounds just a little empty. New things would never be discovered, you'd never want any better for yourself, there would be a lack of progression. So, too much greed is bad, but maybe a little is needed. A balance, if you will."
