Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Open to Clancy "So the place still isn't all that fantastic looking yet, but at least the walls aren't threatening to fall on my head now..." The half blood muttered, one hand holding the broom she had been using and the other wiping the sweat that was lining her plague mask. For about a week now, Vieka had been coming in at the crack of dawn until well into the night to fix up her up and coming clinic; moving large amounts of debris that were laying around, re-plastering walls, moving furniture in, putting her plants in spaces where they would get lots of sun, working on her back garden a little. Don't get me wrong there was still a lot to do, putting tile down on the floor in certain places, painting the walls to cover the plaster, making the place feel a little less bare bones, but it was usable now. Several people had come in for small things and she actually had to the room and equipment set up to help.
"Too hot for this..." The woman griped, putting the broom down against one of the walls and fanning her neck with a gloved hand. The sickly heat of the day was making it hard to make much progress, and Vieka dearly hoped no one would come in today so she could melt in peace.
Clancy felt terrible. Not only had he neglected to eat much for the past few days but he had also consumed about his body weight in liquor. Having a stomach full of booze for 3 or 4 days was a horrific decision that he sincerely regretted now. There was apparently a doctor in Mingo's that he had never met before so he decided to pay her a visit today. Shame that this person had to see him at his worst. Clancy shuffled into the building, looking green and feeling like a clockwork toy in a anders hands. "Hello?" The pink haired fellow croaked.

The brunette practically felt her eyebrow twitching as the bell above the door chimed and meek voice croaked from the front of the room. 'of cause i had to jinx myself' Vieka thought with a sigh, dusting her hands off and making her way to the mess that was to be her patient
"Holy cow you look like crap!"
Right, not one of her most elegant moments, but jeez look at the poor sod! He looked like a walking zombie, probably felt like one too if the rather greenish complexion was any give away. speaking of which.... "You're not going to puke on my newly cleaned floor are you? Cause I'm telling you now, you'll be cleaning it up."

Clancy nodded at the woman. It was a comfort to know she wouldn't sugar coat things. "Ah feel like crap. Would ya-" He paused an put an arm around his pained middle then went on "Would ya prefer if ah stand outside. Ah don' wanna mess up yer floors neither," he grumbled miserably.

frowning beneath her mask, Vieka removed one of her gloves while strolling over to the lad, holding in her other hand while she carefully held her now bare palm just over the space where his forehead was, never touching his skin. Her frown became more prominent when she felt the heat coming off him, and a sigh escaped her lips. "I'll get you a bag, go sit down and tell me whats wrong" the brunette pointed to the worn black leather pressed against one of the walls while she moved to the kitchen, rummaging around a while before finding a brown paper bag and heading back to give it to him.

Clancy stared sadly at the grown as she examined him, not wanting to look up and accidentally breath on her or something. Who knows, what he had might be contagious. Nodding, he slumped over to his designated area and sat down, waiting patiently for his bag and bargaining with his stomach to hold out a bit longer. She seemed nice. He's have to pay her back somehow for this. Wonder if she knew he was a fellow Mingo. Did I tell her when they met... No, he did not. Well that was rude of him. He would have to fix that as soon as she reappeared. When she handed him the bag he hunched over it, preparing for the worst. "Thank ya.. I'm Clancy, by tha way.. Yer... I'm sorry, ah don' know yer name.. Thought ah did..... Guess not." He gave her a weak, apologetic smile.

"If talking's going to make you puke, don't bother with pleasantries. I never much cared for them anyway." Vieka muttered, now taking the time to look over the door fool while she sat on the couches arm, arms loosely folded and one leg crossed over the other. she might have even looked a little intimidating (well, she kind of did with that bird mask stuck to her face), if it weren't for the slouched and lazy aura she gave off. 'clammy skin, obvious nausea, can't tell anything else from sight alone though.' "My names Vieka, but i don't particularly care what you call me. now, Tell me what wrong." Her question wasn't so much of a question as it was an order.
She just kinda told him no to talk bu then instructed him to tell her what was wrong. Funny woman. Especially with that mask on. Clancy was tempted to bop the nose of it but though that might annoy the poor woman so decided against it. "Ah have a.... Kinda drinkin' problem... Might be it.." He muttered humbly, glancing down at the bag in his hands. It was awkward telling your faults to someone you just met. "But it ain't like this most days! Ah musta had too much or sumthin' this week... Sorry," he apologized with a small smile.

Clancy couldn't see it, but the woman had a rather blank look on her face at the revelation. still had it on right as she thumped him non too gently over the head with her hand too, not caring that the poor sod might've had a headache.
"Idiot." was her only response, her tone deadpan.
With that, she got up and moved back to the kitchen, pulling out a glass deep dish with a lid and some ingredients. roughly bruising some ginger, she added it to the pot along with several cups of water and several large spoons of brown sugar, placing on the lid and bringing up the head to let it simmer. That done, she started moving around the kitchen again bringing out all sorts of pots and pans. "Let me guess, you haven't eaten much either?" she called back, not bothering to look.

Clancy took the hit like a pro, knowing full well he deserved it. Closing his eyes shut for a moment, he waited until his intense headache lessened a little before responding. He laughed lightly, knowing full well the matter was not funny. "Ya got me," he confesses, rubbing his aching head. "I'm sorry I'm sucha mess," he apologized then cover his mouth, trying to ignore his dizzying nausea.

The doctor didn't say anything in response, simply carried on, filling a large pan with left over stock she's made earlier that day and throwing in a handful of vegetables and some shredded chicken. by the time she was done, she moved back over to the simmering ginger mix, added honey and lime before straining it into a cup and moving back over to the sorry looking Clancy on her couch.
"There aren't any cure's for hang overs, but i can lessen the symptoms. Sip this, it'll help with the nausea, then i'll get you something light to eat that'll help top up the vitamins that's you've no doubt killed with alcohol. Don't drink any alcohol for at least two days, you'll need to give your body time to recover before you decide to start bingeing again."
Clancy graciously accepted the tea while holding the bag in his other hand just in case. "Thank ya, yer too kind. I'll try ta keep yer advice in mind," he took a hesitant sip of the tea, decided he liked it, and drank some more. He would have to pay her back for this, no question. "What is this? It's good," he complemented, feeling a bit less queasy already.

"It's a mix of ginger, brown sugar, honey and lime. And it wasn't advice, its an order. No alcohol for 48 hours." Vie's voice took on a no nonsense tone, scowl on her face as she crossed her arms and stared at him for a moment. He may not be able to see her face, but she was pretty sure the message was clear. 'Doctors orders'. She saunter back over to the stove after that, checking on the heating broth that seemed to be coming along well, before picking up the silver ware and laying out her table. After that, she filled up a large jug of cool water and placed it on the table with two glasses.
"Come sit down over here, the food'll be read soon.." She called over, still looking at her display to make sure everything was set up properly.

"Aha, yes ma'am," he replied in an abashed tone. He siped on his tea quietly as she worked, finding it was a bit weird being the one taken care of; he was use to the other way around. Vieka's announcement about dinner drew him from his thoughts. "Alright," he got up slowly, not wanting to spill his tea or fall over. Taking his place at the table, he set his item's down and twiddled his thumbs. "How long 'have ya been here? What made ya wanna be a Mingo?"

Filling up the glass next to Clancy with lovely cool water, she glanced at said pinkette briefly from the edges of her mask. 'how could he know..? ah, he must be apart of mingo's as well.' She figured pretty quickly, her conclusion making the most logical sense. "Here? Not long. In Lodan acting as a doctor? a little while now. I joined Mingo's because it was neutral ground. Make sure you drink the water, the alcohol will have made you dehydrated." She replied and ordered, giving as minimal detail as possible. She didn't really care that a lot of her answer was rather cryptic, she'd rather not give the details of her life away; She did however need to get him be the one talking, it would take a lot of the spot light off of her. 'i just hope he's a talker...'
"Whats your position in Merchants guild?" She asked smoothly as she made her way back to the kitchen, moving the subject away from herself.
