"Faolan Skye, you're under arrest on suspicion of murder." A very familiar voice spoke, and Faolan looked up to see Alistair standing a few meters away with an entire squad of guardsmen. Amidst the turmoil of confusion in his mind, Skye was almost flattered that they thought him so dangerous as to require that many men, but that quickly faded to be replaced by the memory of the warning Lorraine had given him. His eyes sought her out in the crowd of bodies, but he couldn't find her. He just hoped she remembered their conversation.
"That's ridiculous Alistair, the murder is right over there," he said, pointing towards the man Ikuze was currently pummeling. It was a gesture he very shortly come to regret as his hand was covered in black blood. He didn't notice, however, until Alistair pointed it out.
"Look at his hands!" The man exclaimed as if shocked by the events, the man would have been a solid actor if he'd chosen another career path. "Take him and this other man." he said pointing towards Jackson. "We can sort this all out before a magistrate."
Skye should have chosen to run, at that point, for he knew what was coming next. If this had been Alistair's plot all along, then he was about to take to fall for all of it. He couldn't, however, leave Cait there to be exposed. Quickly he moved across the gap between him and Ikuze. "Get her out of here, no one can know," he whispered to her before violently tossing her at the Baroness. He didn't have more time than that as three guardsmen fell atop him and forced his hands behind his back, slapping him in irons. The same scene was repeated just feet away as Jackson was grabbed as well.
When Faolan was pulled back to his feet Alistair sauntered over to him. He pretended to make a show of patting Skye down and Skye, for his part, did not resist. No sense making it easier for Alistair. The problem was, that this had all been planned out to such an extent that Skye had no room to slip from the trap, and when Alistair pretended to pull the knife that Jackson had used to stab Caitlin out of his left boot, those in attendance gasped. Whispers began to shoot from person to person in the crowd as whatever respect he had once had began to diminish.
"The Murder weapon," Alistair said, holding up the knife for all to see.
