Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
"Here.... Live here..." Lone croaked, staring at Stephen yet again for a few long seconds before quickly snatching the orange back and sort of gnawing on it without bothering to take of the rind, as she did not know to do that. She was having trouble and sat back down, her wings clicking as she moved them again, an involuntary movement.

Stephen's nose wrinkled in disgust as he watched the girl gnaw on her food. "What are you doing? That is not how you eat an orange! Where you raised by wolves. And what do you mean you live here??" His eyes widened when it finally clicked into place. "I had heard something about food missing from our kitchens.... You mean to tell me, that you have been hiding away in MY bloody estate?!?" Horror, disgust, anger and shock crossed his face before he settled on an angry glare.

"eep!" Lone exclaimed as she started trembling again, gripping the orange in her hand. He asked her to tell him and she did! Why was he always so angry!? She scampered out of the kitchen and frantically looked around for a place to hide. She had ruled out the crawlspace as one of her options, as she didn't want him to know that's where she had been staying.

"Oh no, there is no way that I am going to let you live in MY house without permission!" he yelled, getting up to run after her. The girl was quick. He had to follow her and sort this whole bloody mess out before- The door upstairs banged open "SON! COME LOOK! I CAUGHT THE MOST MAGNIFICANT BUCK! HE'S A REAL BEAUTY!" the familiar booming voice roared. Oh drat it all to hell. His father was home. "Get back here!" he hissed, not wanting his father to spot the girl.

Lone jumped as she heard the bang of the opening door and the booming voice reverberate around the hallway. "eep!" She said again, as she darted backwards, and ran into Stephen's waist, hugging him. She didn't mean to, as it was simply a reflex of sorts, but she was also unaware that he probably would not appreciate it.

Stephen froze when the girl was suddenly hugging him. The hell was wrong with this kid?! Looking down at her his anger seemed to calm down. If this kid was not so cute he would already be booting the brat out of the door. Curse his soft spot for kids. Stephen did not know exactly what do. He made some confused gestures with his arms as he looked around trying to figure out what to do. "Are you hiding from me, son?! It will never work! I have the hunting instincts of a wolf! I will find you soon!" laughed the loud voice above them. The loud clunk of someone walking around upstairs accompanied the voice. Drat, what to do? The real question was how his father was actually a successful hunter what with him being louder then a thunderstorm.
"Come on Lone, that is just my father. I do not exactly want him to see you, alright? I have got to get you out of here somehow?" he mumbled as he settled on petting Lone's hair like he would his cats. Speaking of his cats, Portia and Antonio had disappeared at the sound of his fathers voice, leaving only Titania. Titania seemed to be looking amused at her masters obvious discomfort with getting hugged. "Alright, let go. This is not decent" he grumbled, tapping the kids head.

Lefiruc sighed as he walked towards the Leland estate. Dealing with Charles was always a somewhat draining experience for the elderly Anderswelter noble... Where did the man get his seemingly never-ending abundance of energy from? The reasoning behind this visit was to formalise the full arrangements for their heirs wedding, details such as the venue, date, etc etc. Personally speaking, he'd rather just have the two do it as soon as was possible, however there was that damnable business of polite society and all its social nuances. One cannot be hasty in such an endeavour, lest it shed a bad light on the newly weds... And whenever a bad light is shone on something, it tended to reveal more than some would like.
Ikuze would have enough issues as it was just simply adjusting to high society given her background, without her heritage and biology a known factor... No, scrutiny is something that is not desirable to either party right now. And so here he had come to the Leland's residence to speak with its patriarch. And judging from the booming within, he could only assume Charles was in. Lefiruc sighed and rolled his eyes before chapping at the door with his cane to seek an entry.

Lone quickly let go, but still awkwardly held out her arms, not really sure what to do. She glanced around frantically, and started to hyperventilate slightly, with small, dainty, nervous breaths.

Charles paused his search and turned to open the door. For some reason, he saw no problem with greeting guests when a dead deer was draped over his shoulder. When the man saw who it was a huge grin lit him face. "LEFIRUC! WHAT A PLEASENT SUPRISE!" he roared. "Come inside! You are most welcome, friend! What has brought about this visit?"
Stephen silently thanked the Gods. Lefiruc had came at the perfect time. Now what to do with the kid. "Follow me" he instructed, turning to the servants exit. This door lead them to the back exit so he would be able to slip out of the house without notice... hopefully.
yay! no problem Lefiruc! Charles has someone to talk to now X3
The old man blinked at the sight of the dead deer draped over Charles' shoulder before raising an eyebrow. "Doe or buck, can't quite make the head from here." he asked, partially to buy some time for the ringing in his ears to subside from the vocal assault the large man had inflicted upon his ears. "In any case... I thought it would be prudent to go over the arrangements between our offspring. Dates, venues etcetera etcetera. May I come inside to speak? Discussing such matters on the doorstep is somewhat unbecoming." asked Lefiruc.

Lone did as Stephen had instructed and followed close behind, tugging at her skirt nervously and glancing around, still trembling. However, she tripped on the corner of the table and fell to the ground with a tiny crash.

Charles looked a little insulted at the Lefiruc's question "A buck of course! I would never shoot a doe or I hope to be cursed on the spot" A huge smile popped up once again on Charles's face at Lefiruc's next words. "INDEED! Come in, come in!" Clapping a hand on Lefiruc's back, he lead the man in. "I can not tell you how much it pleases at the engagement of-" he stopped short at the sound of the crash. "Someone is in my kitchen... INTRUDER!" he roared, dropping the dear and storming over to the stairs that lead down to the kitchen.
"dung dung dung!" Stephen cursed. There was no time. He turned, made an unhappy face, the scooped the clumsy girl up into his arms and ran to the door. He just managed to get them both out before Charles made it down the stairs. Charles paused and looked around suspiciously "LEFIRUC! Do you see anything unusual??" He spotted Titania glaring at him from the table. "... maybe it was one of Stephen's creatures.... blast that boy's affixation on cats. Why couldn't he like dogs.." he huffed, a disapproving look on his face.
Stephen did not stop running into he made it out to the street. With a huff he set the kid down then brushed himself off. "We made it out. Thank the Queen." He paused and bowed his head to the girl "I apologize for picking you up so suddenly. I promise to never do so again. Are you alright?" It was rude but he needed to get her out of the house fast without her toppling over anymore.

Lefiruc took a mental note concerning Charles' hunting patterns. That and to invest in some form of sound filtering spell should one exist. Gods alone knew that his hearing could use some saving graces. The old man winced at Charles' exuberant clap on his back as he was led inside, raising an eyebrow at the sound of the crash. "Please don't be her..." he muttered under his breath, half-dreading it was his grand-daughter "practicing" again. Lefiruc stood at the head of the stairs and peered down, chuckling softly as the man complained about the felines. "Dogs are loyal to a fault, but it's easily bought loyalty. A cats loyalty is far more hard-earned. Plus they tend to fend for themselves for the most part." he said before glancing out towards the street at a most interesting sight.
That would explain the noise... he mused, able to make out the remains of wings on the smaller figure, even with his aged eyesight. "I'll check up the front Charles, in case the intruder gave the slip, just in case it wasn't a playful cat." he called down before he made for the house entrance, and looked down towards Stephen and the child with the ruined wings. "Mr Leland," he said as he approached the pair, his old eyes looking at the girl with a sense of shared pain, "I'd recommend my own place since you've made the effort to evade your father. George and Linda will know what to do for her... I dare say they've had practice. I'll keep Charles busy." he said before he looked down at the bone-winged child once more and nodded towards her before regarding Stephen. "Go. We'll discuss this matter later." he said before he returned to the house. "Seems to have just been one of the cats indeed Charles. A bird had gotten through one of the windows and well, you know cats and birds." he called before closing the door, lest Charles spot the pair on the street.

"I suppose. They have quite the attitude on them though. That I do not care much for. Marvoulous idea Lefiruc! I shall check the rest of the house!" called Charles from the basement. Stephen had not even noticed Lefiruc's presence until he spoke. Stephen nodded, unable to voice how grateful he was for Lefiruc's help. "This works out. You will no longer be my problem. Come, I do not wish to be seen with you in my presence. The longer we stand here the higher the chances of my person is spotted with you" he gestured for the girl to follow him as he began his way to Mr. Storm's home.

Lone looked down, ashamed and scared. She didn't know who this new man was, but apparently they were going to her house. He seemed to take notice to her wings, and she wished that she knew how to hide them somehow. She started to tremble again, but continued walking. Was this man going to hurt her?
