Open to all
The sun crept above the horizon to blanket the world with feeble light as thick, brooding clouds loomed amongst the sky to quickly cover the sun's rays. As time ticked away the sun rose higher but the clouds grew overwhelming until the sun was soon devoured leaving the light to struggle to keep the world from looking so dark. Slowly the liquid from the clouds began to trickle from the sky where they collided with the ground leaving small spots on the cobblestone streets below until soon enough everything was coated with water.
It was an hour perhaps before noon when a particular mad magician awoke in his modest home. Having been lying on his stomach, he lifted his head to look out the window with groggy eyes to see that the source of sound that woke him was the rain pelting the glass. Groaning, he rolled over then ran his hands through his wild, brown hair that stuck up in all directions. A yawn escaped him as he threw away his covers then dressed for the days events. Groomed, and ready for the day, the magician snatched up his cane then took his deck of cards in hand to inspect them. One card he lifted and smiled at it before throwing it at a stuffed figure that resembled a woman he once knew. The card sliced open the left side of her cheek before embedding itself into the wood of his door where the figure hung. "Good morning, Jesella," he called to her then stuffed the deck of cards away into the pouch of one of his belts where it would be concealed by his coat tail.
After his daily routines around his home, Addison stood at the stairs to the entrance to his home watching as the rain poured. Few would be out today, he thought with a depressed frown but it was noon and there was still much of the day left. Exiting out of the gate, the entertainer sighed and then made his way down the street, tapping the fence he walked along occasionally with his cane. Eventually he made his way to the Theater District where few people occupied the streets.
