Open to Caitlin

Danny prowled the docks of the city with his goggles pulled low and his scarf pulled high. He glanced around in the foggy glow that was the beginning of dawn and let out a muted sigh. Where was she? "Hello? Caity? Ya out there?" Danny called out on the docks as he made his way further into the area. He passed by men and women passed out in the open. The entire place smelled of alcohol, urine, and vomit. In the fog somewhere what sounded like a scuffle sounded. Danny made sure to steer clear of that. He continued on his way through the docks. "Hey? Caity? Ya out here?" Danny rounded a corner and came face to face with a massive man. He was ebony skinned and covered in tattoos. His shaven head was laced with a patchwork of scars and his lips were pulled into a perpetual sneer because of them. Across his back was a massive hammer, used mostly for construction work... but it looked like this guy had other ideas about it. His broad shoulders and chest were open to the sea air, and a white wrap covered his stomach. His pants were a pair of brown work pants with a black belt. On his feet he wore a pair of sturdy workman's boots.
"Little lost birdy? What'cha doin' here, hmmm?" He folded his arms across his chest and tilted his head to the side. No malice... but no kindness either. Just curiosity.
"I'm... ah... I'm lookin' fer... ah... the Queen'a Rogues? Sh-" Danny began, but was cut off by the man.
"She ain't in the mood to see anyone. She's a little..." The big man shrugged and looked around at the collapsed drunks.
"Well... uh... I... I think she migh' be okay meetin' me..." Danny shuffled his feet.
"And why is that, little bird?" The big man smiled down.
"Well... 'cause I saved her an' this girly Rava out in the woods from some shadow beasties a while back an' I'm hopin' I can call in the favor..." Danny shuffled his feet again.
The big man's face dropped the tiniest bit. "Come with me..." He began leading the way through the docks, weaving this way and that. Without his guide, there was no doubt in Danny's mind he'd never have found Caitlin. "Wait here. I'll go let her know you're here..." The big man shuffled through what Danny could have sworn was a sheer wall, and disappeared. Nothing to do now but wait. Danny rocked back and forth on his heels as he began thinking of how he would approach the topic. Just straight out. That's how he'd do it. Just ask her right up front. Yeah... that'd be good...
