Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
( edited , due to more likely she not walking out of this ) Rava's plan worked out , the men in the building where all coming after her, now she had to get out and get to the train and grab the king , to do that however to do that she needed to take a gamble , she ran to a window and with all her strength and speed she jumped out the window , through the glass , everyone outside saw this happen as this woman flew out the window and started to fall.
Rava didn't want to get locked up or worse , she came so far , this was a risk she had to take. knowing she already broke some sort of rule of the guild somehow, but if it worked out , it would have been worth it to become the thief of kings .the greatest thief in the land.
as she hit the ground , she landed wrong, her legs broke taking all the of the fall she rolled onto her back and screened in pain , she was too used to never falling but this was the 1st this hand happened to her. she tried to crawl away but the pain was too unbearable to move .
this was her downfall, and the downfall of thiefs who tried to take the forbidden and failed to .
Last Edit: Mar 19, 2014 11:36:15 GMT by Rava: typeo erorrs , not walking away from this intact
Ikuze curtsied once more when the guards gave them leave to enter. "Thank you sirs. Thank you most kindly." she said before she tried to guide Caitlin inside towards the reception room. As she did so, she whispered quietly towards the older woman, "What do we do now? Your papa thinks I'm off here seeing to you, and I doubt the EIRAL lot are gonna let any of us just wander off without a pair of eyes." The thief-maid didn't mention the part of her concerns with Sourpuss, given that she was sure that that part could go without saying.

Stephen nodded his thanks to the guards and gestured for the females to enter the building first. It may have seemed that he wanted them to get out of the commotion as quick as possible by this gesture but it was more so that he could watch both Miss Cockfoster and that odd little maid better. The maid whispered something into Miss Cockfoster's ear as they walked in. Stephen narrowed his eyes at the maid but his attention was quickly draw to the female guard that zoomed around the corner. She screeched to a halt and ordered the guards near them to take the group to safety. So, this intruder was giving the EIRAL's some trouble. Knowing how efficient these people were when in action, mores girl would be captured soon. "Here we are, safe inside the structure" he said with a polite smile to Miss Cockfoster. "Are you feeling any better?" There was a crash from above them and Stephen glanced up at the sorce of the noise. Sounds like mores girl had just exited the building. "There certainly is a lot of excitement going on in here" he said with an amused tone, turning his polite smile back to Miss Cockfoster.

Edelweiss definitely couldn't say this was being a boring day, hearing the chatter of people and the wavy mass moving like a living sea. Her own clothes were simpler this time, just a neat but plain black suit, white gloves and clean boots - that could blend in as mostly anything in that kind of crowd. Nevermind the king himself (whom by the way looked as ridiculous in that attire as a hippo wearing a pink ballerina tutu), the man had done nothing yet besides flaunting his being like a peacock during mating season and there was no real plausible reason to take his life. She didn't really care about his safety, but had came to that gathering out of duty to check in case there would be any attempts against the monarch then those would not be caused by one of her 'workers' - even if that meant she'd have to hunt them down instead. A dead king in Lodan would give more trouble than it was worth, and she hoped none of the assassins around would be stupid at that point, but better be safe than sorry.
She didn't have to wait much until the first comotion started. Someone had the brilliant (only in the literal sense) idea of signaling something with light from a roof, called the EIRALs attention and then fled from heavy shooting. Thankfully it didn't seem like one of hers... then she spotted Stephen trying to get into The Barracks, oh god have mercy NOW IT WAS ONE OF HERS. Thankfully Edelweiss could also remember the lad never seemed the type that bends to spurs of idiocy, so she watched Stephen, Caitlin and Ikuze out of curiosity for a moment till the guards guided the three of them inside. Next step, as soon as the three had just been lead inside, she ran towards the entrance too and stopped by it, copying Ikuze's strategy and looking for all in the word like a very worried servant and rambling about the aggitated mobs at a short distance from there (part which in a way was not a lie) and how 'oh skies the young lord has such a frail health' and she had to make sure the commotion had not affected his delicate complexion - and to sum up talked the guards' ears off enough till they allowed her inside too (or well, lets be frank, just annoying the guards would probably land her in jail; what she really was doing was just an act to distract them a bit while she used Hypnosis I for 'extra persuasion' to let her in). Because yes, Stephen, you're her worker and you're doing something suspicious, so she's going to use you as her alibi until she discovers if you are really planning anything or not.
Despite that, once she was 'escorted' to where the other three had been taken and left alone enough to drop the freaking-out-servant act, it was not to the eyepatched lad whom she turned to first. "Hi Cait, I sincerely hope that you have a better clue of what's happening than me, because if not then things are getting strange here. " It was said in low tone, almost a whisper, just in case; but they didn't seem to be being observed at least for now and in any case, she didn't say anything that might really cause an armed fuss.

Stephen blinked in surprise when he saw Epikuro suddenly appear. Once again, he got some what nervous. Was she here to check up on him? Probably; He just walked into the building that mores girl had scampered into. It did look some what suspicious. But his intentions were completely innocent; All he was trying to do was get into good graces with the Baroness. That and keep an eye on her suspicious maid. Stephen gave the maid the once over again, trying to figure out with the little wench was up to.

((I hope it was okay for me to post this as I did in order to get the plot going. If Skye or Caitlin had anything else planned, I can certainly change my post. In the last paragraph I wanted to help you lot inside EIRAL to getting to Rava but you're certainly going to have competition. )) Booted feet clanked on the metal staircase as Lorraine scrambled up flight after flight. Felix turned off after another flight and charged down a hall with his master in tow. Defeated men groaned and knowing that the infiltrator must be near she hurried on leaving the injured couple to their wounds. They'd be alright or it was likely help would be on the way soon, even so, she could not allow the perpetrator to get away. A loud crash echoed in the hall and she took a sharp turn at the end of the hall as it donned on her that this person was closer than she thought. Did someone catch her and shoot a window while trying to catch the suspect or did the suspect jump out the window. The second was confirmed when she spotted the window. There was no way someone would have jumped from such a high spot in the building and have been okay.
Felix reached the window before she did and she had to race to drag him away so the shards of glass wouldn't harm him. "Stay," came her command and with some hesitance, Felix obeyed. Approaching the window herself, she peered out and spotted a figure at the bottom who must have been the infiltrator. Behind her, Lorraine could hear footsteps coming notifying her that help was on the way. Seeing the woman below trying to crawl away, the ensign stepped back and quickly ran back the way she'd come just in time to be greeted by other soldiers. She stopped, taking the chance to catch her breath and assess them. "I found the infiltrator, looks to be female, jumped out of the window,"she quickly explained before ushering herself passed them, Felix behind her. A couple of the soldiers she could see were tending to the wounded others and as she made her way down the flight of stairs she could hear some of the others thought best to tag along behind her. They would catch this person no matter what they took but they had to hurry before she got away!
Back down at the stairs when they finally reached it, they ran passed the room where Caitlin and Co. were occupying. As they passed, one of the men following behind her and unaware of the people in the room shouted out to one of the officers that they located the subject, stating she'd been injured and they were after her now at the foot of the building where she'd fallen. It didn't cross Lorraine's mind the mistake this could bring to just shout out such important information with 'civilians' in the building to overhear, but like her, that soldier was only an ensign as green as she and lost in the moment. Outside was quite a sight to see. So many people, such a large crowd. It would be easy for someone to slip away in such a large mass and Lorraine didn't like the possibility of that which only fueled her more into reaching the thief.
The thief-maid caught Sourpuss eyeing her up, shrugging off the sudden appearance of Edelweiss, and her guise as a butler... "Alright... how we playing this then? Cus, I know I'm her maid," she said quietly, nodding towards Caitlin, "soo, are you Sourpuss' butler in this whole king meeting queen thing or something?" she asked the red-head, waiting for the penny to drop now for the pair to recognise her. Ikuze felt that that was the best course of action right now, just in case something happened later on and rushed explanations wouldn't cover it. She gave a small curtsey in Sourpuss' direction with a slight wink once the look of realisation eventually reached his face.
The moment the maid called him 'Sourpuss' the puzzle pieces clicked into place. Oh for the love of the Queen, it was that little blue haired wench again! No matter where he looked, she was standing right there with he little overly confident attitude. What was she doing being the Baroness's maid?! He blinked in shock at what she said about Epikuro being his 'butler.' The nerve of it all! "She most certainly is not my butler! I would not disrespect her in such a way!" he sputtered out. Epikuro was far better than that. His butler was a fat, lazy old man who's purpose seemed to be to try and make his life miserable. There was not a day that old fool did not give him one of his 'disapproving' looks. It was an insult to compare her to that grumpy old bother. Ah, he was still in the baroness's presence. Leave it to the little blue haired devil to break his cool. He cleared his throat, regaining his proper composure once again. "And might I ask what such a fine lady as yourself is doing in a maid's garb? I do not recall you being a ladies maid when we last me" he inquired with a polite smile. He added emphasis to the word fine, letting her interpret that they way she wanted to.

Sourpuss. Oh. So that was why Edelweiss had had this vague feeling of having met that girl before, no wonder. If her speech pattern was already hard to not recognize after she had spoken more naturally, the nickname she used to call Stephen made it so the redhead would need to be really stupid to not recognize her. "Ah, so it was you, Ikuze. That is a really good uniform, but I had thought those bluish eyebrows seemed familiar, remember to tint them the next time... by the way, is that wig or dye?" The asked with a calm, light chuckle escaping her lips. If that was pure curiosity or a rebuke for Ikuze's comment about her being Stephen's 'buttler', only God knew. Probably a bit of both. "No, I'm not his buttler." I'm his boss on his job where he goes out to kill people; nope, she's definitely not saying that. "Mr. Leland and I are just good aquaintances. Though I had indeed to use the 'steward card' to convince the EIRALs to let me in, but I'm seeing you've done the same anyway. Smart minds think alike, I guess." Thinking of that, Edelweiss would probably need to introduce Stephen to the real Caitlin Cockfoster soon or later - the cunning adventurous girl who planned things and led airships into the far horizon or into the glass windows of her own house, instead of the fragile pure-blooded dansel that the poor innocent lad seemed to still believe she was. Or maybe it would be better if she let the Queen of Rogues introduce herself. Edel would just watch those two for a while longer and see what happened before speaking of that more directly.
She didn't bother to turn her head nor give any signal that she heard what the young guard that passed at a distance from them said, but she did hear it (the man had spoken pretty loudly anyway, whoever paid attention could hear), and had both already paused speaking and only retook her own comments after they had been left relatively alone again. And now EIRALs counted with the presence of nothing less than two pirates and two assassins inside their barracks and casually chating about their respective disguises, all four having entered with the very guards' blessed allowance and not really breaching any entrances. Oh the talk that would ensue if people knew... Thankfully, no one knew. And better let it stay that way. "Speaking seriously, though... please tell me the one on the roof was one of the pirates just having a silliness minute and that this is why you're here, I don't want to even think of the other possible alternatives." And no, that was not a threat either, Edelweiss sincerely and genuinely did not want to think of what other culprits might have been, albeit she WILL if necessary. If it's a pirate, she might even give Cait a hand out of good will for whatever she's planning if the friend accepts her help - with small things, like back during that disastrous party where the Baron had tried to engage her. If it was not a pirate but also not an assassin, then best thing would be letting the Queen's military deal with the culprit. But if it was indeed an assassin being stupid... CAEsAL would be having a member eliminated that day.

Epikuro seemed to have an amused look on her face. Like she knew something about this situation that he was missing out on. A pirate on the roof? What would miss Cockfoster know about that business? The two seemed to know each other. Was miss Cockfoster an assassin as well? No, he would at least know of her being an assassin. From the best of his knowledge, he was the only blue blood in the group so far. So she was not an assassin, but he got the feeling she was more than what she looked to be. He listened quietly, picking apart their conversation for information that might help him come to a conclusion.
The king looked over the assembled crowd once more with more than a hint of distaste, which made Skye want to smack the man and here the Queen was entrusting the man to his care. If it wasn't for years of practice in appearing impartial, he might have scowled at the prospect, but he was already in enough hot water, and this was probably another part of his punishment. That was fine with him, as long as he didn't lose control over the EIRAL.
"Of course your majesty," was all he ended up saying as he pressed in a hidden button on one of his cuffs. No more than a few seconds later a mechanical bird came down and perched on his shoulder. "Record," he said and waited a moment for the birds eyes to turn red, "Colonel Malak, your presence is requested at the railroad station to attend the Queen...Stop." The birds eyes turned blue and it took off immediately. Faolan watched it go before turning to face the King directly, offering his best formal bow. "I place myself at your disposal," he didn't add more than that, but if the man tried to use him as his personal butler he was going to find his food suddenly had an extra little punch to it.
In turn, the king dismissed Skye's bow with a wave of his hand. He barely even looked in the man's direction, "My Queen, can we dispatch with this spectacle and get down to the business to which I was asked here? I would very much prefer to sleep in the comfort of my own bed tonight, unless there is to be an invitation to share yours." He smiled with the intent of being quite dashing, but his harsh facial features did not lend themselves very well to the attempt.
Meanwhile, at the gate, the guards sighed and opened them, "You are to wait in the reception area, if you are caught anywhere else you will be arrested, no matter who your father may be Ms. Cockfoster."
"Come now, no reason to act barbaric," she answered with a rod up her spine. The nerve of insinuating he might actually be welcome to her bed?! She may be his brothers widow, but that did not make her the other's concubine. "We have already seen to it that you have appropriate accommodations arranged in the palace. The High Commander is more than capable of seeing you there. But for the highlight of our loyal subjects, a carriage waits to escort us to the estate. It will be a short parade I assure you." She turned on her heel and led the way to said carriage, having heard enough of the brute king's words for the moment.

the muffled sound of shattered glass rang from somewhere above the first floor, and then boots thundered down to their level. The four of them exchanged thinly veiled information and alibis in between soldiers shouting out commands their way. When Edel asked her final question Caitlin winced.
"I was wondering the same thing myself, but right about now I highly doubt that whoever it was, they're no longer on the roof... which means... well," she looked over at Ikuze, "I suppose there is no sense waiting in here anymore. We'll miss the rest of the show."
She jerked her head gently towards the exit and made eye contact with her three companions. "shall we?"
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
Stephen nodded, curious to see who mores girl actually was. So Miss Cockfoster was connected to pirates in some way- this much he had at least deducted. That was somewhat shocking. He would never have guessed that the Baron's daughter was familiar with pirates. This woman was quite the mystery. The more he looked, the people of Lodan were more complex than he had originally thought. Leave it to this city to always leave him guessing.

The redhead made no protests about the prospect of leaving what had happened to the morse person either. Though if Stephen ever asks later, Edelweiss might let him know there was another blue-blooded assassin at a prior date... but the man had breached all limits possible and proved to be too dangerously stupid to keep on living; it had been quite a tricky kill for her to finish. Considering only the present times though, indeed the young Mr. Leland was the only noble among CAEsAL's assassin ranks. And seemed to be doing well so far (they grow up so fast~), so she had no complains about him.

Ikuze snickered as Sourpuss lost it before collecting himself again. She shrugged before he asked his question. "Take work where you can get it. Can't really afford to be picky about what jobs are around." she answered before looking at Edelweiss and her question. "Wig. Dyes for some drat reason keep coming out not an hour after I put them in. And well, don't exactly want dye running into these." said Ikuze as she patted down her uniform.
She groaned when Caitlin looked at her and semi-addressed her. "But we just got in here! I swear miss, if this is how this maid gig goes with you, I'm gonna want a raise. Way too much running and pushing." the thief-maid said in mock seriousness before a memory crossed her mind, illicting another groan combined with a facepalm. "I think I just figured out who it is..." she groaned before looking at Caitlin. "Remember that little trip we made a while back? And what one of the locals liked to do?" she asked, not wanting to give names out right away, especially in front of company, and double especially if she was unfortunately found to be correct in her assumption.
