Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

New surroundings warranted exploration. The sooner he knew where everything was, the better he could navigate this new place -- Both in physical presence, and in this new life.
He had gotten the tour of the main barracks, of course. His bunk, the mess, the vehicle bay, the armory, the towers. It had all been... A lot. Almost overwhelming, he hated to admit. Through it all, an itching clawed at the back of his neck, an insecurity burrowing deep in his stomach. These things, this sort of security... It hadn't been something he had ever possessed long enough to really know. He knew well enough that there was no such thing as a free lunch, and what expectations there were of him in return for these amenities, he was yet entirely clear. Of course he had learned in principle, the core values of loyalty, of order, of discipline... But he was unsure what he needed to do in practice. Unsure if he would be able to perform them at all... A particularly anxious part of him anticipated his removal from their ranks when the brass finally discovered what little use he could offer.
As a consequence of this anxiety, he found himself wallowing in distraction -- under the excuse of exploration. No one had given him a task to do just yet, so he was to learn every nook and cranny of the barracks, at the very least, hold use in how well he knew where everything was. The one place he hadn't gone to explore yet... Was the training grounds.
Or what was left of the training grounds.
Eprhaim, with his uniform hanging off of his gawky frame and tufts of his tousled hair shifting in the slight winds, he looks on at the rubble with a furrowed brow.
"Wha-ah-a-t... Happened?" He stammers out, a whisper for only his own ears.

Jovena was doing the rounds on base. Why? Nothin' better to do, so why not? She was just about to cut through the training grounds with no intention of stopping to train, when she spotted a fresh face.
Not meaning to sneak up on the bloke, she sorta did and couldn't happen to overhear the question. Whether rhetorical or not, she figured it wouldn't hurt to give her best guess as to the answer.
"Might have something to do with the wars." Yes, wars, as in, plural. One shoulder rose in a lazy shrug and her hands found her hips as she stared out at the sad display with the new recruit. She could tell he was new by the ranking on his uniform. She'd worn that rank for a while before hitting her first advancement. It was a right of passage and she smiled before offering a hand to shake.
"Welcome to the EIRALs." she greeted. "I'm Lieutenant Barbados, but you can call me Jovey... Have you had the tour yet?" She asked, wondering if perhaps the slacking had extended as far back as indoctrination. Everything was sort of falling to the wayside, it wasn't just the sorry state of the training grounds themselves. She resisted the urge to sigh disheartedly and put on her warmest smile.
