Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"Nice to meet you, Cas."
Edelweiss spoke to the dog with an amused smile, that then became a full on amused chuckle as Elaine explained of Cas supposedly liking her already and the rivalry he had with her fiance. "Well now, aren't you popular? Having two boys fighting over your affection like this." And this was way, way waaaayyyy more light-hearted and honestly funny than any other "love triangles" the redhead had ever got to witness.

Elaine's worry quickly dissipated into the recesses of her mind. producing a short laugh. "Oh yes, every woman's dream to have men drooling over her. Though I never quite thought it would be literally." She clicked her tongue at Castiel, who shifted to sit right at her feet and wait. "Such a good boy!" She cooed leaning down and vigorously scratching the sides of the dog's neck as he looked up at her smiling and licking her chin. She loved fawning over her big pupper. "How's your cat?" She asked, standing back up and scratching behind Cas's ears. "I haven't seen her in a while."

"Do you mean Stephannie, or Stephen?" She asked in a joking tone, the half-smile glued to her lips turning a just bit softer as she watched Elaine pampering the big pup. "Anyway the answer would be the same: they're fine, probably on a chair in my office and petting each other like cartoonish villains."
As for not seeing Stephannie in a while... "Well, Stephannie goes where she wants, but she always come back. Sometimes bringing 'surprises' along." Usually it was big leaves or twigs the cat liked to play with... but there was that one time she came back with a full litter of kittens so there was that too.
Sudden shouts filled the air. It followed by a loud clunking noise and whirling of gears as people began to yell and scatter. With a bright flash and hiss of sparks, many eyes were turned towards where the santa robot had been talking with the children.
The children had long since ran away, and at the floor was a drunken man scrabbling away, his empty beer cup rolling near the robots feet. The robot was the cause for the flashing sparks and ear bleeding grinding noises. It made some strange whirring noise as it opened and closed it’s mouth repeatedly, gears grinding and causing more sparks to cascade down. Rather hauntingly, the lights in it’s eyes seemed to flicker from the green they had been before to turned off to red before back to green again.
The machine whirled down for a moment, it’s form slumping forward. Then suddenly-
“Main system compromised, initiating backup sequence. Backup power supply, full capacity, no compromises. Default settings re-initialized.”
The robot santa stood straight again, it’s back rigid and eyes glowing an eerie red, right before the thing sprouted what looked to be a grenade launcher from it’s right shoulder, it’s left hand turned into a buzz saw and it’s once soft supple santa suit turned armour plated.
“Battle bot santa activated. Initialising fighting sequence.”
Vieka gave the robot a bland look before slowly turning her gaze to her father, face like thunder. “Why the frak did you turn a battle bot into santa claus!” She snapped, gesturing wildly to the beefed up bot."What is wrong with you!?" Haymitch just coughed and gave an innocent smile, right as a grenade promptly exploded a hook the duck stall.
Hopping up onto the nearest table, Haymitch directed his hands to his lovingly created murder machine.
“Dolls and guys, step right up! Test yer hand at the uuuuuundefeated the Santa-baws! His attack is unknown, his defense is unknown! So, whooosa ready ta test their metal ‘nd prove em self an everyday hero!”

"Hey, can't ever be as bad as finding a partially decapitated squirrel in your bed." She shuddered a bit remembering waking up and screaming loud enough to awaken the entire neighborhood. "Though I must admit I'm surprised Stephen hasn't made off with her y-!" Her sentence was cut off suddenly by the host leaping to speak. Something making horrendous noises of destruction and "ho ho ho". Elaine watched in awe as the machine blew up a stall, her hair comically whipping back in the blast as the wood chips of the stalls remnants rained down on the crowds. Then the screams, the terrible screams. Looks like Santa wasn't so jolly anymore. She cast a particularly unenthused glance at Edel, "Why can't any event we attend just be normal? One event. That's all I'm asking for...."

"I've been asking myself that every. single. event. I went to that gone downhill for the past couple years." The redhead couldn't help but sigh, a hand raising to touch the bridge of her own nose.
To be fair there were a few festivities that went normally till completion, but those were few and far between in the track of Lodan holidays. Although the evil robot santa was new, the panicky chaos was a sort of routine for any festivities by now. "Maybe it's karma..."

Another stall was promptly blown up, drowning out anymore speech briefly. By this point, the people who were going to run were well out of the way, although you could still hear their screams down the street. Several people however had chosen to stay and fight the robot. This was Lodan after all, City of gears. Any engineers and Anders alike saw this as a chance to test their skills and inventions without having to hold back.
Only, it turns out that santa wasn't so easy to take down, especially when he was a seven foot murder robot.
“What naughty children”
Despite the various fireballs that had been aimed towards the battle bot by a nearby Ander, the metal plating that had formed on it’s body seemed virtually unscathed. Minus a few burn marks, it was clear the physical magic hadn’t penetrated the metal. Of cause, we were talking about Haymitch Tikkersprokits work here. He was hardly famous, but he was known to be in cahoots with Amon, which spoke volumes about his work really.
With a heavy clunking noise, the grenade launcher shifting direction and fired, hitting the ground with a loud bang and a blinding flash. The next moment, the heavy set robot had launched itself forward, swinging it’s buzz saw hand down at the Anderswetler man who had initially attacked it. The man was blinded, too busy rubbing his eyes to see the danger he was in, and if no one acted, a few broken stalls would be the least messiest thing to clean up by the end of this.

Elaine pulled her goggles free of her belt and put them on her head though she didn't quite pull them down just yet. Taking a moment to lean over to Edel and quietly murmur, "You'd think karma would do us favors since we usually help her out. But what do you think we should do?" She doubted anyone had come up with a plan that consisted of anything besides trying to just demolish it by throwing everything they had at it.
Castiel had been alarmed slightly by the commotion and began to pace rapidly around her ankles and Edel's, weaving in and out barking in excitement. Fully intending to protect his master from the loud, imposing thing that smelled of metal, oil, and alcohol. "Sit." She ordered him sharply, pointing at her feet as she pulled her goggles down over her eyes. He obeyed instantly as he propped himself at her feet staring up at her like she was the only thing in the world. However, his attention was lost when the stranger began to use magic against the death machine. He skittered back behind her and circled around barking furiously. The feline contemplated her options for a moment, she could leave and have a peaceful afternoon at home... or she could stay here and try to solve this conundrum while also hoping to get her hands on whoever made the drat thing.
Elaine watched as the fire did absolutely nothing to it, and that was the final straw in assuring she'd have nightmares about invincible Santa come to Christmastime. Backing up a step as the grenade launcher swung around past their direction and raising her arms defensively as a bit of a reflex. She didn't want to be anywhere near the end of that monstrosity, but at least the tensing made the explosion easier to brace for. Her goggles helped alleviate some of the blinding effects but she still had to blink several times to rid her vision of the after images, bright chunks of purples and white blotches covered the scene before her. They shifted as she looked around but were becoming fainter by the minute. She could manage to just see the movements of the evil bot as it began to take a swing at someone like darker shadows against the draining light invasion of her eyes.
Elaine pushed off quickly from the spot she was in rushing for the scene and casting Kinetics II, a new skill she was quite happy she brought come to think of it. Sending the magic to her legs to lengthen her strides to be able to cover more ground just a bit quicker. She ducked as she got close to tackle him and make an effort to also avoid a glancing blow. Throwing them off to the side and rolling to ease the landing. Her dog chasing her to stand behind the bot and growl. Cast of Kinetics II once. Three casts remaining.
