Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Big crowd. Mala didn’t like big crowd, but interested. Lots of things. Lots of things to lick. Mala wanted to lick weird things. Tried to lick one. A person screamed. Broke thing. Thing didn’t like Mala. Scurried away. Things just looked likable. Scratched at hair. Didn’t like hair. Chewed on edge. Made hair better. Scurried around. Looked around. Poked items. Saw them spark. Saw them crumble. Was fun. Rumi would find fun. Big stage. Lots of things. Looked around. Saw man. Looked scruffy, black ear, carrying a cart. Mala snuck behind. Sat on edge of cart. Peaked over box edge toward man. Man stopped. Scurried off to hide on other side. Watched for a bit. Peaked head higher. What in box? Food? Mala wanted food. Food would taste good. Things didn't taste good.

The blue haired half-blood sighed as she walked through the fairgrounds, her guitar slung across her back as she looked around for her employer. She didn't want to be here... for one thing, there was the whole Anders blood running through her veins that could cause most of the things here to go absolutely haywire if she got too close, and she wasn't entirely sure if the EIRAL's were still on their damned witch-hunts or not in regards to her kind. For another, she was still in pain. During the war, her grand-father, Lefiruc had been killed during the bombings, leaving her the sole heir of the small estate. The funeral had been a small and private affair, she doubted that anyone knew that it had even taken place what with all the chaos that had been going on. Trying to ensure that the place stayed standing had taken up all of her attention and focus.
But, she still found herself coming out to gigs like this one... apparently someone had found a way to get her attention and hire her to play some music whilst they put on a display of something. Ikuze hadn't wanted to come, but it was sort of hard to argue when one was getting shoved out of the door and told to have some fun by the people who were supposedly working for her. They'd even put her in some regular clothes rather than the funerary black she'd been wearing since the funeral... The thief was still trying to figure out when they'd changed her. She sighed once more before spotting the display where it was said it would be.
She walked up towards the man there, and rolled her shoulders a little. "You hire a musician for your display? Any requests or suggestions for how you want this to go?" she asked the man, a little despondently admittedly, but in honesty, she wasn't really feeling up to much else. Far quicker to get this over and done with so she could get back home and continue trying to make sure nothing else went wrong. She even ignored the woman who was scurrying and hiding around the cart, figuring that if the guy hadn't spotted her yet, then it wasn't her concern.

"That's a hard question..." She mused aloud as Clairee asked where she wanted to head first. "Anywhere would be fine, I think. I didn't arrive all that long ago so didn't see much still. If you want a specific direction I think I saw another friend of mine over that way, se we might as well check there (and maybe turn our walking duo into a trio)."

"Don't worry, you're more than qualified..." Amon replied with a small sigh, shoulders sagging a little. "As of right now, you are currently the closest member to myself in terms of technological skill. As for Sienna..." Amon leaned in closer. "She just went through a...very...rough spot in her life...to say it was 'traumatizing' is an understatement," he softly explained. "Edel and I have done our best to help her recovery, and it's been going well, but she can still be a bit fragile..."
"...And easily spooked," he quickly added as he gestured Wern to follow him as he saw Poli rush towards Sienna. "Come here Poli! Stay close to Wern, okay? Don't want you getting separated..."

Having been here since the wee hours of set up, she didn't mind which direction they went, she'd watched nearly all of it take shape. Not to say she was disinterested because that was not the case. Nonetheless she followed Edel's lead and turned in said direction. Keeping up step she wore a pleasant smile and carried along until they bumped into someone new.

"Ah thank you yes, you ----- aren't, what I was expecting..." Mulven admitted blandly as he turned around to face his musician. She was a slight woman, with electric blue hair and a dower expression. Weren't musician's supposed to be charming? The edgy rock look wouldn't come into style for centuries yet not that he knew anything about that
"Very well, yes, um for the fireworks displace. Could you give me something.... theatrical? I want it to build up to the grand finale, and to really escalate into a victory of explosions if that makes any sense." He hoped it would because truth be told... he knew nothing about music. A rustle brought his head back around to the cart, in time to spot a slight figure rummaging. "No don't!" he stammered, then when he noticed just what exactly he was telling them to 'don't' do... he added "That's not...foood!" He covered his mouth with his hand, in shock that anyone would - eat - explosives. the very thought of what sulfur must taste like turned his stomach.

What was it about andersweltlers and technology, than it seemed like anyone of the kind that she knew of held a(n unfortunately but surely non-reciprocable) love and fascination for all things techy? Edelweiss didn't know the answer herself, but it didn't detract from her own mirth at the thought either as she and Clairee went around looking at everything on the way, until finding the aforamentioned friendly face she'd vaguely spotted in the crowd before.
"Cait! Cait, over here!" Edelweiss waved; she could recognize that honey-colored head anywhere. ...And apparently Clairee had just bumped into yet another person. The redhead didn't know why, but she couldn't help but be amused at that for some reason. The girl was like a bumping magnet.

Sienna glanced over as the small contraption followed after her. It had been partly why she'd left and now it had followed her. "Ah um... yes, he's soft but Mingo probably won't like you touching him." She answered, a hand reaching out to rest on her feathered friend's back. She glanced back to the boys and back to the invention before holding out her plushie. "You can... touch this I guess. But not the real thing." She was protective of her protector who's head peered up and around the former guild leaders shoulder as she interacted with the machine. She still felt a little overwhelmed with all this but she was dealing with it okay and that was a vast improvement to how she'd been nearly a year ago.
Amon couldn't help but raise a hidden eyebrow. Well...it seemed like Sienna was indeed improving. After a quick observation to see if she was truly fine, he turned his attention to the machine at hand.
At first glance, it seemed so whimsical: so many buttons, levers, lights, and, yes, flamingos. But beneath the seemingly chaotic aesthetic, laid a fairly clever design.
"...It's an educational piece...aimed at helping to teach one about electrical currents...?" Amon guessed.
"Indeed!" the inventor boasted. "With this glorious technological revolution, I took it upon myself to make something truly spectacular to help educate future inventors learn more about elements they can utilize in their craft. I plan on making a whole series. Might even rival your little toy store~" he continued with a mischievous smile and a good-natured wink.
"Keep telling yourself that," Amon responded with a small chuckle of his own, rolling his eyes a little as he made some notes on his clipboard.
"Well...unless you guys have anything else to ask or add, we can move onto the next one," he said, addressing his two compatriots.
"Wern? Want to choose next?"

H-he was the closest qualified? The statement made Wern blush, his shoulders instinctively arching up as he stammered an “O-oh t-thank you sir.” Though, the baffled expression did not last long as Amon continued. “O-oh.” T-traumatized? R-rough spot? Oh dear. Fumbling, Wern curled up his hands to his chest as he glanced at Poli and Sienna. Poli was rather rambunctious— and well, could easily “spook” someone… Oh cogs.
Poli was small, was a fun contraption. “Awwwww. But okay!” Holding out her hands, Poli took the plushie and gave it a big squeeze. It was soft and fun and big. Holding onto it for bit, Poli rocked back and forth as she spoke. “Are you like my daddy? Do you make stuff? What kind of stuff do you make? Is it pretty. You’re pretty!” “P-Poli, give Miss Sienna her, um, animal back.” Wern stammered, urging Poli forward so that she could give the toy back. Though, he did glance at Sienna as well, “T-thank you Miss Sienna, um, she likes toys q-quite a bit so, um, T-thank you.” Looking to the contraption, Wern nodded along with the conversation in order to keep up, wincing a little at the inventor’s quip and Amon’s jest in turn. His wince lingered until Amon addressed him. “W-what? Oh um, I- I have nothing left to add. M-miss Sienna, do you have a-anything?” Wern inquired, guiding Poli back to his side as the little girl tried to walk in the direction of a different invention. Pulling at his sleeve, she pointed to a stall, one where a lot of children were around, playing. “I wanna go thereeeeeeee Werni— can we can we?” Poli hummed, and Wern winced, glancing at the two. “I, um, what about that one over there?” Wern inquired, pointing to the stall Poli wanted to go to. From here, he could see, and hear, that it was some sort of organ. Except, the organ was making weird sounds, like animal sounds. Even a fog horn could be heard. Upon glancing over, there was something being projected too— in the center of the organ. It wasn’t’ that big, though. How intriguing…

Used to eating weird foods. Mala mainly wanted to lick. Lick tasted weird. Smelt weird too. Man’s food was bad. Even if not food, still bad. Scrunched face, coughed. Then threw thing. “Bad!”
"Ah thank you yes, you ----- aren't, what I was expecting..." Mulven admitted blandly as he turned around to face his musician. She was a slight woman, with electric blue hair and a dower expression. She was probably going to need a glass of water.
Ikuze raised an eyebrow at the man's statement. "What? You expected maybe someone covered in frills, lace and big doll eyes?" she asked, her mood darkening as she glowered at her current employer before sighing and rubbing the back of her neck. "Sorry... I'm still not over..." the blue haired girl said, trailing off before she could finish her sentence. She couldn't even bring herself to say that the old man was dead... saying it out loud to a stranger would just... It would make it feel far too real again. And reality was not something that she was particularly fond of right now.
She slapped herself across her face to snap herself out of that train of thought even as he began to notice the person rummaging in his cart, who was apparently trying to eat the fireworks. The thought of how the other side of that particular meal might look gave the dower girl a brief snort of a chuckle. Ikuze started to unpack her guitar from its case, thinking over what the fireworks owner had requested. "Something theatrical that builds up eh?" she half-asked of the man, and of herself as well as she thought of what she knew.
A piece of sheet paper caught her eye, hidden beneath her guitar where it had been resting. Her eyes skimmed it over before she rubbed at the traitorous orbs as they began to water up as she recognised the sheet. It had been something that the old man had been helping her with. The one time her grand-father had taken a proper interest in her musical abilities outside of trying to make her into a proper lady of society... Something that both of them had been using to vent their feelings about their whole situation. The war. The Anders. The military. Their history. Anything and everything.
"Yeah..." Ikuze said as she strapped her guitar to herself. "I think I got something." she said before looking over to the man and smirked. "Just you make sure that you can keep up with me. Or I'll be stealing your show from out under your feet." the blue haired thief declared, challenging her current employer as it were. She would wait for Mulven to get himself properly set up whilst she tuned her guitar, going over the lyrics and notes in her head as she did so. If she was going to do this, she was going to do it right. No way in Hell was she going to make a mistake with this one. Not for its debut.
"You ready?" she asked Mulven before she would begin to play, letting off a sudden chord of music blasting out into the air, almost like a veritable cannon shot. She followed it up in quick succession by three more "shots" before settling into the melody.
"Is this my liiife? A life with a bitter taste? Am I condemned, to waste?" she sang out, half asking the audience almost with her words it seemed. "Show me my mistakes, and face me with my fate.I assume that my life is doooomed ." sang the girl, drawing more than a few frowns her way from those listening. What sort of song was this to be playing at a celebration? How dare she? Impudent little sop. Ikuze could almost hear those words and others, even if they weren't being uttered loud enough for her to hear, and she didn't care one bit. Because of what came next...
"I won't surrender, I defy!" she roared, immediately forming the counter-point to the earlier maudlin nature of the song, her guitars chords hitting a higher note as well in accordance with her words. "I won't surrender, until the day I... die. I won't surrender, while I'm still... breathing. I won't surrender, while my heart... is beating!" the blue haired girl declared, grinning as she caught the expressions of several members of the growing audience. That'll teach them to think of first impressions alone... now to keep going and piling it on!
"Time goes by, but I still try. I'll keep my head up. I will never stop!"
"Show me my mistakes! And face me with my fate! I assume... that my life is... doomed!"
"I won't surrender I defy! I won't surrender until the day I... die! I won't surrender while I'm still... breathing! I won't surrender while my heart is beating!"
"Even if it costs my life! Even if it's... the haaardest fight! And I swear I will try, until the day I die!"
"I won't surrender I defy..." she sang, her words almost becoming hushed, her guitars music becoming singular notes as opposed to the chords earlier "I won't surrender until the day I... die!" her voice rose with the words, her guitar singing out with her, the demure notes transforming once more into the powerful chords.
"I won't surrender I defy! I won't surrender until the day I... die! I won't surrendeeeerr, while I'm still breathing! I won't surrender while my heart is beating!"
After that last word, the tears in her eyes were clear to see, although the smile on her face was at odds with the upper half of her face even as she continued to strum out the chords and notes of the song. As the last note hung in the air, and hopefully with the fireworks serving as an appropriate backdrop in the skies above, Ikuze would give a bow to the crowd before she would work on putting her guitar away back into its case.

The woman turned around at the call of a familiar voice. Her face lit up with recognition and a glowing smile. "Long time no see!" She greeted the other informally, though she didn't recognize Ede's raven haired companion, the redhead was certainly a sight for sore eyes. She met them half way and lifted her arms in a gestured that suggested a hug, if the other were willing to receive it.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

Caitlin wants a hug, Caitlin gets a hug. Because why not? It was nice to meet an old friend, mainly during an event like that. Festivities were always more fun when enjoyed in good company.
"It really has." Edelweiss agreed with a grin at the comment that it'd been a long time since they'd last seen each other. "Have you been here for long-- oh wait, before that, do you know each other already? Cait, this is Clairee; Clairee, this is Caitlin."

Turning to Wern and Poli she smiled a little once more. "It's alright if she wants s-she can play with it f-for a while." She just didn't want it ruined as it had been a gift from Amon. She blushed a bit at the pretty comment but didn't react other than that. She was still dealing with some self image issues...
Sienna really didn't have much to add per say but there was one compliment she felt needed to be said. Turning to the inventor she smiled shyly but had an earnest look on her face. "I like that you've... gone to such lengths... t-to share what you've learned. And t-then you've made it so a-anyone can easily t-take this and use it to learn or i-in this case tech themselves or others." She smiled again, bowing a bit respectively. It felt nice to speak her mind after so long of being unable. She still had some stuttering issues but over all she felt it hadn't been too bad. They moved on to something else that was a bit interesting and she felt her head tilt a bit to the side as she tried to get a good look at it.
