Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Chuckling, Lasair leaned on his shoulder. “I think it suites you, but you’re right, I’d have to see you dance to know for sure. I’d ask you to dance right now, but I’m afraid I have two left feet. Never gotten the hang of it.” “Your list of talents never ceases to surprise me, I must admit,” he added with a light laugh.
The feeling of Lasair’s head on his shoulder made Sayvahn’s heart flutter, and, leaning down some, the feline leaned his head against the fox’s as well, his hand, touching Lasair’s own. “Well, we could still dance though. After all. It will always be a perfect dance as long as I dance with you.” The elder man sighed, kissing Lasair’s hair. “But thank you for the compliment.”

“Maybe later,” Lasair mused, nuzzling into Sayvahn a little bit. “There’s more I want to ask first. Like, hm.” Pausing, he had to consider which question to bring up next. He’d be lying if he said the proximity of the other wasn’t just a little bit distracting. But then he recalled the last few things he spoke of and decided to try asking one of those questions. “I’m not sure if this will happen, but well, if I ever found another person, would you be okay with that as well? I’d tell you, of course, and still love you completely.”
The feline paused as well, and looking down upon Lasair, he sighed, leaning his head more so against the young fox as he pondered the answer. “I would be okay. But, I can’t promise I won’t be upset if I don’t think they are a good match for you,” the older man confessed, rubbing his thumb across the top of Lasar’s hand. “I would want it to be someone that you care enough about that if they asked you to have you, and only you, you wouldn’t have to think twice about leaving me. I love you, Lasair, but I know enough not to keep you to myself.” Taking a breath, Sayvahn tried to laugh some. “I think that’s the reason why I’ve warmed up to Edelweiss so much.”

Letting out a breath, Lasair felt relieved. “It seems that answers my next question as well, thank you.” He smiled, even though the other probably couldn’t see it from that angle. “I feel like I had more to ask, but I can’t think of anything right now. Is it too late to have that dance?” he asked next, nuzzling into Sayvahn some more. There was something nice about this moment, about this time together. He wanted to stay close to the other, enjoying as much as time as he could. “I’m afraid you’ll have to lead though. I don’t know the steps.”
Answered his next question? The thought made Sayvahn freeze for a moment, and he lowered his eyes somewhat. So. Was it about Edelweiss, or Sayvahn leaving? Maybe the end was near after all. “It’s never too late to dance.” Sayvahn stated, getting up, as he wondered if that also meant that this would be the first, and the last, dance. Yet, he didn’t let that weight carry on him. After all. If it did, it would make him a liar, now, wouldn’t it? Holding out his hand, Sayvahn leaned his head to the side, a soft smile, encircling on his lips. “I’ll lead you until you don’t need me anymore.” And then, maybe you can dance with Edelweiss, all on your own.

Lasair felt the man next to him stiffen up. He was going to ask, but before he could, Sayvahn stood up, dropping Lasair’s hand as he did so. And when he turned to face Lasair, the expression said there was something behind, yet no words were spoken. Wasn’t this a night to sort things out and make it right? He didn’t take Sayvahn’s hand, instead he looked at him, the emotions painted on his face. “What is it? What did I say? I thought we came up here to fix things. So why do you look so…defeated, right now?” His hands dropped to the ledge he was sitting on, hands gripping the stone tightly. If there was an issue, he wanted to fix it now instead of later.
Hands tightened on the ledge, knuckles, turning white. Sayvahn would not have noticed, if it wasn’t for the fact he was staring at the ground, away from Lasair himself. The fox was right. This was a night to fix things, yet here was the rift, being opened rather than closed. Taking the hand away, Sayvahn sighed, looking down to the ground to the stone that seemed to provide more warmth then their own bodies. “I answered your question. And, it answered mine.” Hands rubbed against each other in an attempt to gather warmth, even though the air itself was warm, yet the breeze, it bit into the elder feline. Maybe that was one of the curses of getting old. “You answered my question of when.” “And, judging by your answer.” Emerald eyes confronted blue, and Sayvahn tried to smile, but it was forced. “We should dance tonight.” Because soon, someone else will be in your arms, and it won’t be me.

It took Lasair a few moments to understand the answer. Why couldn’t the other just be blunt about it, as he was with so many other things? He had to think back to what else had been said, since his phrase had been an answer to one thing and not another. He had said that if someone asked Lasair to leave, that he’d want the leader to do it. Was that it? Was that what he thought Lasair was replying to? Sighing, he looked down at the ground, hands loosening until they released the stone. Then he spoke in a tone just over a whisper. “My question was going to be what you thought of Edelweiss…nothing more. I don’t plan on leaving you, Sayvahn…”
A pause. Comfort washed over Sayvahn, and, loosening his stance, Sayvahn backed away some. “O-oh.” He uttered, turning away before he dryly laughed . “Maybe you should rethink this then. After all. I’m much older than you. Lord, probably a lot more senile as well. “ The elder man tried to laugh, except, he caved in on himself, crossing his arms and taking a few more steps away. “It… would probably be easier. You know. ”

Shaking his head, Lasair stood up and walked over to him, stopping less than a pace away. “I don’t want easier,” he confessed. “Besides, she’s tying to work things out with Amon. She might not even be interesting in me that way. Why would I give up you, someone who’s right there in front of me, who loves me wholly already, for someone who might not even be interested? That’s just foolish.” He chuckled and then reached forward, taking Sayvahn’s hands and pulling them closer. “Now, where do these hands go? And am I stepping forwards or backwards?”
Pushing against Lasiar’s hands, the feline guided him to the right handhold, pulling their bodies together as another hand wrapped around Lasair’s waist. “You step backwards.” The blonde hummed, lips burying in the crevice of shoulder and neck. “Things might not ever get easier between us.” The older man confessed, fingers, entwining with the fox’s. “And I don’t want you to regret us, whatever we become.”

Mimicking where Sayvahn placed his hands, Lasair up against the older man, resting his head on the other’s shoulders. “I wouldn’t dare regret the time we’ve spent together. It’s been too much fun. Even if we’ve come a long way from that day you first walked into the woods. I’m happy we’ve gotten past the issues from before. The ones I caused. And I want us to move forward now. Together.” He spoke into the feline’s ear softly, the smile on his face being heard in his voice. “Which foot first, right or left?” he asked then, ready to begin the dance.
Warmth crested on Sayvahn’s ear, and the elder man purred softly, whispering “Right” as he leaned his head against the other. “We both had our issues, and our graces. But now, now we can be together, just as you said. And the fun—“ Walking forward, Sayvahn began the dance, guiding Lasair, two steps back, two steps forward, their hands, pushing against each other, handholds, lose as if to twirl one another. “Is just beginning.”
