Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
It took Gladys a moment to catch up with the conversation happening around her. Jovena wanted to fight, as did the bright-haired ander. And then there was the kind blond girl who really didn’t. The remaining guard felt torn. On one hand, she did want to try and fight, but on the other, she didn’t want to leave Veronika alone to her own devices. So she bit her lip for a moment and nodded. “That sounds good,” she agreed and looked to Veronika, doing her best to feel excited for the exploration at hand. “Where would you like to go?” Because staying at the fighting probably wasn’t something the lady would want to do. Experiencing the wonders of a new country would be much more interesting.

Veronika had expected them all to want to fight. She momentarily worried she was holding Gladys back from fighting if she wanted to, but she didn't want to make the situation awkward by bringing it up either. She might be just misreading the situation. Instead she simply turned to the girl and asked, "what would you like to do? If you would like to watch the fight, I'll stay and watch too. It's just participating that I would prefer not to do." She held out an arm with a small laugh. "These muscles are rather weak unfortunately." She joked. The girl seemed shy. That was a feeling Veronika could identify with, though she usually was able to fight her way out of the shell she often found herself in. She tried to be as friendly as possible, hoping to make her feel comfortable and welcomed in a conversation with her. "But, of course, if you'd like to do something else, that sounds fine as well."

Zona gave a nod at what the brunette said. The two blonds defiantly didn't seem like the type to go off and fight for fun. The one blond then agreed with what the other had just said almost proving what Zona just thought to be right. "Ya I'm good with that." Zona said as she looked over to slowly growing crowd that seemed to be surrounding the fight. That made her smile slightly. "Well shall we head over there then?" Zona questioned to the brunette, before turning slightly toward the crowd.

Howl grimaced when Julian said he would go. He hoped it wouldn't randomly come out tonight, cause in a crowd of people that wouldn't be good. "Y-ya i'm ready to go..." Howl said as he got up and started walking towards the ander section. Howl stopped and looked around at a few stalls and shady merchants. Howl stopped at a stall with a bunch glowing stones and other knicks knacks. Picking up a small crystal that looked like quarts,"Thar's a good one, it will protect ya from harm. But if ye'r look'n for a stronger talisman try these." The merchant growled holding two items: a small white stone with gray veining and a feather, "The stone is to help calm ya in a stressful situation n' the feather is to help focuses magical energies. What do ya say? I'll even tie the feather to ye'r staff there, for free!". Howl looked at both of the items, he really wanted them. "I...I'll t-take them..." Howl said as he dug in this pocket for money and handed the man his staff. The man took them both and pulled out a string of leather wrapping it around the quill of the feather and then tying it around his staff a little below the crook. "T-Thank you..." Howl said as he walked away.
Approaching Julian Howl said, "What do you think?" Holding his staff in front of him, the feather danced in the the light breeze, "Did you get anything?"
Clairee was short. Too short to see anything good which bummed her out. She kept circling the crowd around the fight like vultures, looking for an opportune window to poke her head in. Thats how she ended up bumping into a pair of blonds talking on the other side of the impromptu ring. "Oh, pardon, didn't mean to..." She started rattling off a string of apologies

The part-time barber remained quiet as the members in the group each took their turn speaking. He had a feeling he wouldn’t get to speak up right away and he was right. But that was okay, he could smile and nod along until then. A larger nod was directed to Edelweiss as she tried to explain Aida’s names. Of course Edgar knew that, but what the guild leader didn’t know was that Aida was the preferred name. But that was alright, the name of Sayvahn would still be used sometimes, he supposed. Until she was ready to move on from it, at least.
And then the other man spoke up, seemingly enjoying speaking the incorrect name for Aida. Edgar frowned a little. And story of how they met? Hm, well it wasn’t as interesting of a meeting as the one with Edelweiss, at least. Edgar almost listened to Aida speak up, laughing nervously. Why would she be nervous? Was it the fact that Edgar was meeting her friends? Perhaps. To her actual line he only nodded again, an action bordering on faux at this point. “Some meetings are meant to be elegant, like ours,” he said as he looked at her with a warm smile. “I met her at a dance she performed in. Might not have been the star of the act, but she was the star of my eyes. I still feel lucky that she noticed me and gave me the privilege to talk to her.” His smile grew and he looked into the distance, remembering the wonders of that night.
Unsure of where the conversation would go from there, he thought for a moment about some sort of question he could say or another general direction to take. Finding none, he left it open instead.

Julian stood next to Howl as he wasted in money on a stone. He looked at Howls "new" staff, he paid money for some stone and... a feather. "Focus magical energies? Helps you out in a stressful situation? Sounds like bull. But, it is your purchase not mine. I do like it, it suits you. I didn't really want anything, of that nature." Julian said as he looked at Howl and smiled. He then started to walk away from the merchant, hoping he didn't hear him trash talking the mans business. "So where to next? Or do you want to keep buying... things." Julian said as he started at the feather dangling from the over-sized stick. He put his hands behind his head and stretched, he let out a yawn when he exhaled. His back hurt, maybe because he got interrupted from his sleep, or that he was lying on a bench for a while.

The taller man had not been burdened by her blunder, which was a saving grace. Yet, his words weren’t true. Although sweet, although elegant as it may be, it was one that, well, needed to be corrected. But, was now the place? “Privilege is relative dearie.” Aida laughed, avoiding laying her head on his shoulder as she normally would have. “T-to be fair. I noticed you first. Though, it was before that, but well, I doubt that you remember that occurrence, so, well, I guess the dance was our um, first meeting.” Stammering, the blonde tucked back one of her loose strands, fidgeting some to adjust the shawl as well. “So, in a sense, i-it was a privilege, but, one, held for me, as, well, you stopped to notice me and stayed with me after that.” The older woman reddened, her head, seeming to swarm. Goodness, the tension was too much for her. How had she pulled this off with Anemwei and Leleba? It hadn’t been this difficult, but, back then, it had been easier, and under different circumstances. This, this was just, well, awkward. All the feline had wanted was to spend an evening with Lasair. And now, what had become of it? Looking to Edelweiss, maybe the Crimson Angel could understand and propose something. Lasair must have told her something— and, well, if the fox had, maybe the redheaded woman could help the blonde even just a little. Maybe steal away the older woman’s new date? Though, that was unlikely, but, would have been much appreciated right then.

Awkward. Awkward. Awkward. That word seemed to silently repeat itself like an endless mantra as that conversation went on. And Edelweiss herself felt awkward enough from just being present it that the begging gaze Sayvahn directed her for help was impossible to ignore; if this was already bad to witness, how bad would it feel to be the unwilling center of it all? She could imagine, yes - and could also only also bless the skies no matter how jealous Amon may have ever acted of her in the past it was never at that level of crawling discomfort - but anyway imagining it as acutely as this was a challenge.
Wow, this was giving her an urge to actually turn on her heels and find Amon right then even while risking dragging him off his work for a while (if only so that he'd maybe make his worker behave and Lasair would have a buddy in the ircked boys corner).
"How much of the festival have you two already seen, by the way?" She commented slightly, returning Sayvahn's pleading look with a sympathetic one. "I've been stuck just around here dealing with final preparations and technicalities, and Las arrived just a moment ago. So as much as chatting itself isn't bad, it'd be lovely to do so while walking... Ah, Sayvahn, did you hear the Básil area is selling fruit extracts? I've been wanting to check on those it's been hours." Unfortunately, she didn't feel close enough to Edgar to steal him away, nor thought Lasair would appreciate being stolen by her while leaving Sayvahn behind... But Edelweiss could still 'steal' the Feline herself. Maybe that may help a bit already.
On cue, Edelweiss spoke up, and with her words, Aida was nearly wisped away. Or well, given a way to be wisped away. “We haven’t seen much, actually. We just got here.” Emerald eyes met ruby, and Aida smiled, a “thank you,” laced upon her lips. “And no, I haven’t. We should go and try that soon. A lady mustn’t all be work after all. There must be some play as well.” The older woman chuckled, her grip loosening some on Edgar’s arm. Yet, as the dancer talked to Edelweiss, she looked toward Lasair, regret looming in her vermilion orbs. Although it would be a saving grace to flee the scene with Edelweiss, it would also mean less and less time with Lasair— if that was even still an option. And with Edgar, that didn’t seem like it was. “Shall we?”

Lasair seemed to step back a little, apprehensive as to what to say or do in the situation. It was tense and he ached to relieve that tension, but how? Where was the opportunity? He bit his lip for a moment, debating his options. Being rude never ended well, so that was out. Yet it was tempting. Very tempting. Before he could really think of any other options, Edel spoke up and gave Sayvahn an out. Hm, yes it would probably be better if the elder feline could get away, have a chance to breathe and relax maybe a little bit. It was a shame that it couldn’t be with Lasair, but what could really be done about it? He could deny the opportunity, of course, but that would leave them in this stressful situation. But it would also mean staying and chatting with mister Edgar. Hmm. Not an attractive option either.
“You guys should really look around, get to know the place some. Edel you do look like you need to stop fussing about the people working here. I’ll help out where I can while you’re gone. Make sure no one else has any other last minute troubles.” It was an honest answer and he meant it, but behind it his eyes showed a mixture of feelings. To name them was more trouble than it would be worth, but at the very least, Sayvahn deserved a chance to have fun.

"We could still meet up afterwards, when we've all had our fair share of flolicking around... Just a matter of choosing a meeting point." She pondered as a mix of thought spoken aloud and a suggestion. This should serve to appease Edgar about Sayvahn leaving for a moment (hopefully), and would give Lasair and Sayvahn a moment away from the raven-haired & raven-moody Feline to recompose themselves. And -after- that, maybe they could all have their rightful respective dates that night - and maybe Edelweiss will be lucky and find her actual antisocial promised date in the crowd somewhere. "How about the Ferris Wheel?"
And she only stopped to give Lasair and then Edgar a slightly apologetic shrug before whisking the Feline-in-distress away.

"Come on! We are already late!" Emelo said as he paced back and forth near the front door. "The festival is going to be over by the time we get out there!" He said as he turned around to see where his brother was, "What is taking you so long?" He asked as he rounded the corner and looked into the kitchen, only to find his brother shoving some kind of food into his mouth. Emelo stood there for a moment with his mouth hanging open. 'What are you doing?!" He yelled.
"Whhatt..." Leo said with a mouth full of bread. Swallowing he looked over to his brother, "I was hungry." He said with a shrug. "Besides... We just got back, can't we stay here and not go out there." Leo questioned as he shoved another piece of bread into his mouth.
Emelo put his hand on his forehead as he rubbed his head some. "Sure. You sit here and do nothing while I go out and actually have fun and enjoy the festival!" Emelo said somewhat giving up with his brother as he began to walk towards the door.
"Whoa, so your really just going to leave? I mean come on we just got home! Lets relax a bit!" Leo said as he darted out and round the corner, just in time to see his brother open the door and leave. Sighing some Leo quickly put the rest of the stuff he pulled out away before he walked over to the door and stepped outside. He sighed again as he shoved his hands into his pockets, "Where too." He said acting as if nothing happened.
Emelo smiled some as he saw his brother come outside, that trick always seemed to work. "Hmmm..." He mumbled as he looked around some. As he did he noticed a flyer of some kind hung up on a post. "Here! How about we do this!?" Emelo questioned as he pointed to the fly some.
"Hmm... Fire dancers?" Leo questioned as he looked at the flyer some before turning and looking back to his brother.
"Ya! You get people playing with fire and I get to a little bit about their cultural. Something for both of us." Emelo said as the two began to make their way to were the dancers were. They made it just as the group started.

Edgar frowned and was unable to quite find the words he was looking for. To stop her would have been rude and controlling (to both Aida and Edelweiss), but to let her go meant being without someone to accompany him. Which would, instead, leave him standing around in a silly outfit in the middle of the festival. His mouth ran dry for the moment as he looked between the group. Aida was eager to go, probably to escape the tense situation. Edelweiss gave him a slight shrug but she had been the one to instigate the idea so little sympathy was shared for her. The other face, Lasair, seemed confused and somewhat saddened; an odd reaction, but so be it.
Which left Edgar the only one willing to protest. But an outnumbered battle was seldom one that would be won. The frown stayed on his face and he released her arm. “The Ferris Wheel then,” he declared and turned to walk off, heading straight to that location so that he could wait there until they returned. Hopefully few people would stop to stare at him in this silly outfit. But as he started walking, he paused. There was one thing he wanted to pick up from the vendors. Turning, he readjusted his route to head there first, and then he would go to the Ferris Wheel. And Wait.

Chuckling a little to relieve some of her personal embarrassment, Gladys shook her head somewhat as she spoke. “No, no it’s okay. I don’t need to watch some brutes fight. We should go visit one of the countries. I heard that, um,” she raked her brain for a country that wasn’t the West Indies. “I heard that Tömörbata has some good booths set up, if you want to check them out.”
And then someone else bumped into the soldier, causing her to fumble and nearly forget everything she had just said. “Sorry,” she muttered, in line with the girl’s own apologies. She looked towards Veronika for help, given that she no longer knew how to escape the situation of eternal apologizing.
