Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

If Lasair had flipped through the pages, there was a chance he could have recognized the faces behind the pictures, but there was a chance they would remain faceless as well. The answer wouldn’t be known for sure until he sat down to read the book in its entirety.
But there was another matter at hand, and that further dismissed the thoughts about the very well crafted book in his lap. “I’d like to be there and help; and I’m sure at least a few faces from my guild would like to be there too. But how would that work? Would we pretend to be CAEsAL members for the day?” It didn’t seem like a likely plan, but it was the first to come to mind. He wasn't sure if his members would take to the idea of pretending to be members of another guild, but he could certainly try.

"That's still a safer alternative than coming without any covers, since your guild isn't for the public to know." She pondered. "But it has a few roles to it, like all my workers being registered, so in case anyone checks and doesn't find info on your own workers might generate some issues. So I was mostly thinking of another option: you could come as volunteers from the general population who are seeking afiliation to my guild but not really part of it. That will leave you free to do your own thing and work, and no one would question your presence there."

He nodded, already liking her idea. “That should work. I’ll spread the word to my guild mates and see if I can get at least a few of them to show up there.” Taking a deep breath, he leaned back, feeling rather tired all of a sudden. “Is there anything else you need?”

"I need EIRAL to unstick their heads up their bums and admit they need us soon, also Sveden to turn around on their heels and inflation to end... and a de-stressing festive holiday would probably be good. But we both know things only happen in their due time." She refilled her teacup and took a sip. "Leaving the business talk aside, there's still the question I should have asked when you first arrived... How have you been?"

“I just want to be ready for when the EIRAL does admit they need us. Because if they call and we can’t answer, there’s a chance they won’t ever call again.” Sighing, he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. “But yes, the rest of those requests are very valid. And me? I’ve been fine. Doing what I need to for my guild. Not much else to do lately.”

"You seem to be facing better times with that than me then. My guild is facing an overflow of incoming wish-to-be-employees it's been months (and it's not as good as one may think). Finding work, still can do, but finding accomodations is the largest issue." Sigh. "Do you think you could accept some potential new mages if I sent them your way?" Certainly not CAEsAL's children or the ones she's personally training, but at least she can assure him she'd not be sending him trash either. There were just far too many people to fit in at the moment. Part due to Sveden's mortar attacks destroying their previous workplaces and/or homes, but that was accumulated to the remaining tracesfrom EIRAL's slaughter at the Hovel still. If some of them can find a place to call theirs elsewhere, it'd not be a bad thing.

His eyebrows rose in surprise at the thought that he might gain some members on behalf of CAEsAL. It was a welcomed thought, but not one he expected. “You can send them sure, but they won’t be automatically accepted. However if they are in fact skilled in magic, then they should have no trouble. Just have them say they were sent by you and I’ll take care of them.” He gave her a light smile as he finished speaking. That was an interesting though, having people joining MI from the ranks of CAEsAL. Risking as well, but the two guilds are peaceful with each other right now. It surely couldn’t be that bad. MI was always in need of members; the halls never seemed to be anything but empty.

"I wouldn't be sending trash your way, Las. They're good workers, it's just as things are currently I simply do not have the physical space to accomodate them. Not going to ask them back later if you do take them in though, so no worries on that." Each guild was more fit for certain categories of people afterall. As 'cool' as pirates can be seen as, not everyone could or would want to be one, and there were only so many humans she could point towards Mingos before Amon starts squinting his eye at her trying to guess if she's plotting something. Besides, her own guild had a majority of Anders as it is, so with the excessive flow of incoming workers lately sending some to MI would actually be a relief in a way. "I'll bring a small batch along the children for the next magic lesson. See what you think of them then."

He nodded, accepting her reasoning. “The next lesson will be delayed for a little while, to scope out the forest and make sure no other beasts are tempted to move that close to the city. But don’t worry, I’ll send you a message as soon as I’m sure it’s safe again and you can bring the people then. But if that long of a wait is undesirables, you could always tell them to follow the rumors. There’s always a recruitment officer out there, watching for people.” Even though some nights it was a boring job, it was still a job. Speaking of, he needed to consider whom else to promote to the position. Clairee was always so busy and he couldn’t exactly keep doing it every single night…
But that was a matter for another time.
