Takes place before Bittersweet
Andronikos was unaware of Jovena's current condition, but he did know that she was going to be okay, and that in itself was a relief. That being said, worries still lingered, and he found himself attempting to chase them away by splurging amongst bubbles of booze and unhealthy fried foods, piled high on his plate. He wasn't supposed to be here - not now. He had work to do, and had taken enough breaks as it was, but he could not tolerate the thoughts that itched and tugged at the back of his mind one minute more.
Inside of the pub, crowds bumbled and oozed a sort of chaotic hum that hovered throughout the space and drowned most of the charm to the ground. Too many people - too many dung-faced morons. Andronikos had taken to the tables that sat outside, where the sky drizzled from the vibrant pink of sunset into the deep blue of night and its approach.
There, he was alone. There, he could drown his thoughts in drink.
Not even a sip of the stuff graced his lips as just as he was about to bring the mug to his face, he noticed a face walking past that he would refuse to forget.
Without a second thought, he stood abruptly, shaking the table as he got up, and chased after the deer-like girl who seemed to be walking faster than her legs should be able to carry her.
What was he doing? He was already taking time off he shouldn't have -and he hardly knew this woman, nor where she was going.... But she saved Jovena's life. Because of her, his soldier was alive, and he had to thank her. Thank her now, when the situation was not as dire and he could express his gratitude properly.
