Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

OPEN TO ALL (Especially those with Deceit I or higher) A sudden chill fell over the city of Lodan as a heavy cloud enveloped the sun in its massive cotton like form, but it did little to deter the dense crowds on the streets. Nothing ever seemed to stop in the city yet this district was always the busiest. If it wasn't the citizens in the daytime, it was the performers, among some of the less savory members of society, at night. Only the recently established citywide curfew seemed to affect the never-sleeping region, and all it did was lessen the activity to a trickle but it never really stopped it. Today, just like everyday, everything was in constant motion except for Lodan's most famous, blue-haired juggler, who was casually leaning against a wall with his eyes shut, mulling over his thoughts and listening to the lively district.
"Alright," Jasper thought as he pushed off the wall, "let's see if reading that book was worthwhile." A small smile creeping its way onto his lips.

The twins made their way through the hustle and bustle of the very busy theater district. Walking side by side the two stepped in sync with one another, though their leading foot was the opposite of the other they both still stepped in sync, left-right-left-right, right-left-right-left.
Emelo stopped at a near by art stand, leaning over it some to look at all the different paintings and sketches. This was one of the thing you could never really find in their home town so whenever a small stand like this came up, Emelo couldn't help but to stop and look. "Wow..." He said under his breath as he looked at some of the papers.
"Why do you have to keep stopping E, we need to get going." Leo said with a sigh as he shoved his hands into his pockets and leaned over the table some, only to leave the table and look up to the sky. It seemed like it wanted to rain, thought none of the clouds were quite dark enough for it.
"Come on L relax. We don't have anyplace to go so we have all the time in the world." Emelo said as he picked up one of the smaller pictures, somewhat interested in buying it.
"UUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH...." Leo grunted as he leaned back some, making it seem like he was trying to do a back bend. Flopping back forward Leo sighed as he looked around some, everything seemed to be normal. People left and right, performers here and there, tables with stuff on it... A thought then came to his mind as he looked over to his brother for a moment, "Hey do you remember those bracelet like things. We saw them a week or so ago. Could we go get them?" He asked as he looked back over to the group of people only to have his eyes caught but blue hair. His attention then went from his brother to the blue hair in no time.
"Now that's the spirit L!" Emelo said with a smile as he picked up a new picture, "We can go see if they have it in a minute, ok? I think one of these would look great back home." Emelo smiled, still looking at the table.

Jasper gave his back a good stretch before scanning the crowd for a good target. As he lowered his arms from their position above his head, he caught a glimpse of a fiery haired man he'd never seen before looking in his direction. It took the juggler a few moments to realize the foreign face was doing more than just looking in his general direction; he was staring right at him. "Perfect."
With a shrug, Jasper turned to the fresh face and waved as if he was a longtime friend. A gentle smile found its way onto the feline's lips as he began to stroll over to stranger. As he made his way over, he sent the young man a simple message as a test of his new abilities: "You know me. Wave back." (Deceit II)

As Leo stared at the blue haired man... boy... thing... a thought then came into his head "I know this guy, I should wave." Smiling lightly Leo raised his right hand and gave off his signature wave; his thumb, index finger, and middle finger all pointed upward, with the other two closed, staying where they were.
Emelo meanwhile had just found what he thought was to be the picture that they needed, turning some he held it up to show it to his brother. "There what do you think of this one?" He asked as he smiled from behind the picture. Hearing no response Emelo lowered the picture some only to see his brother wave to someone. Raising an eyebrow, Emelo turned his attention form his brother to the blue haired man he was staring at, "Who is that your waving to?" He asked turning back to look at his brother.
As Leo lowered his arm the thought of knowing that guy vanished and Leo was left with that same face his brother had. For some odd reason Leo felt as though he knew what had just happened, but he couldn't put his finger on it for sure. "I don't know." He replied to his brother as he continued to stare at the man coming towards them now, "I just thought I knew them..." He added, slightly in a softer voice. He wanted to know what just happened, and that guy had to have the answers.
"How do you know them but I don't?" Emelo asked as he handed the picture back to the man, "We've never left one another's sides since we got here, so how do you know him?" Emelo asked as he noticed the man walking towards them, completely unaware that the man used magic on his brother.
"I don't." Leo said with a straight face as he too began to walk toward the blue haired guy.

As he neared the redhead, Jasper constantly reminded himself not to keep a steady pace, don't show excitement if it worked or disappointment if it didn't, just stay relaxed, and for the most part, he succeeded - even after confusion fell over the ginger's face. That is until another face - the same face - revealed itself from behind a painting. The juggler hesitated for just a second and made a confused face of his own, but quickly corrected his err. As the two met somewhere in the middle of one of the emptier areas between them, Jasper gave wider smile and offered his hand.
"Hi, I'm Anders," he began simply, "I don't think we've met before."
He kept the jubilant face as he send his target another simple message: "Shake my hand." (Deceit II)

Leo was just about to pull his hand back and clock the guy in the middle of the face if it hadn't been for him sending another message into his mind. "Shake his hand." The thought came into Leo's mind, and though something in the back of his mind said this was't right, his arm moved and shook the mans hand, as his face grew a gentle smile. Making it seem like he was greeting the man.
Emelo watched as his brother walked up to the man and shook his hand. Something was wrong... Leo never shook hands with anyone... Emelo was the only one of the two to not only introduce the two of them, but shake hands for the both of them. Emelo got a weird feeling about this guy, the same one his brother had before he walked over to the guy. Running or well speed walking, Emelo made his way over to the two, before breaking off the hand shake by standing in front of his brother with his hands out at both sides.
Meanwhile for Leo the spell hand worn off and Leo with drew his hand quickly, shoving it into his pocket. Narrowing his eyes, Leo stared the man down from over his brothers shoulder. Though he hated it when his brother interfered like this, in the end he actually was happy the other twin did. He knew his brother would always have his back. Glaring at the man, Leo stepped slightly off to the side to then step in front of his brother slightly, "What the hell are you doing?" Leo asked, face unchanging.
Emelo made sure to stay as close as he could without seeming weird. Though he didn't have as mean of a glare as his brother did, he wasn't exactly smiling at the guy.

Jasper's smile widened significantly as the young man took his hand and shook it in greeting. On the inside, he was jumping for joy. He hadn't studied the skill for more than an hour, in a crowded storefront at that, and it already seemed like he'd mastered it. The excitement of the situation lasted a few more seconds before the redhead removed his hand. The deceitful feline's exhilaration practically blinded him from everything around him including the approach of his victim's double. When the twin stepped in-between the two, Jasper felt the change in mood instantly but gave no hint of his knowledge. He did give a slight frown when the first brother stepped ahead of the other and swore at him.
"Well," Jasper began dragging out last syllable in an attempt to lighten the mood, "for starters, you two are new here, or at least new to me. I just thought I'd introduce myself." He flashed another bright smile before taking a step back to give himself some space. "Anders, Lodan's most skilled juggler," the street performer tossed his arms out to his sides with a poised flare as he spoke, "at your service." He finished his introduction with a low, drawn out bow, crossing his legs like a ballerina in fourth position whilst wrapping his arms around himself - over his stomach and lower back.
Lodan's greatest juggler rose just as flamboyantly as he'd bowed, a smile still plastered on his face. He made eye contact with both of the twins, acting as if he was scanning their faces for a response, but in reality, it was yet another clever setup for testing his abilities. Looking to the first brother (Leo), he planted a single suggestion: "What a fun performance!" When his eyes shifted to the other (Emelo), he offered something completely different: "That was a bit excessive." (Deceit I used twice)
(Total Uses: Deceit I - 2; Deceit II - 2) Feel free to shrug this one off; Jasper needs to learn mastering new talents is a complicated endeavor.

As Emelo stared at the man an odd thought came into his mind "Well that was a bit excessive...". Turning some Emelo looked over to his brother with a face that said this guy is nuts, something that was different from the face he had moments ago and one that he would only have in a blue moon.
Leo stared at his brother for a moment completely in aww... This guy was doing something and Leo knew it, the look his brother was making only proved it. As he turned back to look at the guy a thought tried to come into his mind only to quickly leave. Taking another step forward, Leo gently pushed his brothers shoulder back some, pushing Emelo behind himself. Thinking it over for just a moment Leo realized what the guy was doing, it was actually something the two of them could do.
Emelo shook his head slightly as his brother pushed him back. Why did he just think that... That's something Leo would think... and say, not him! Stepping back some Emelo gave his brother some room for what ever was going to happen next.
Narrowing his eyes even more Leo took another step closer to the guy. "Don't you fraking Darn-" He began, drawing his hand back with every word, "Mess with my Brother-" He continued, taking another step closer, ready to throw his hand forward, "Again." Turning slightly, Leo put all his weight into his right hand as it came flying forward, hitting smack dab in the middle of the mans face. The momentum from the swing actually caused Leo to turn and stumble forward slightly, he quickly regained his footing in one smooth and fluid motion, making it look like everything that happened was meant to. Stepping back up to the man, Leo grabbed the mans collar and pulled him in, glaring him all the while.
Emelo meanwhile just stood there staring in aww, unsure if he should be cheering his brother on or stopping him. As his brother grabbed the man, Emelo knew he should stop him, but for some reason all he wanted to do was stand there and watch.
"I was kind of ok with you tryin' your magic on me, but as soon as you brought him into it..." Leo said drawing his hand back, getting ready for another blow, "Bad idea."
That was enough. Emelo quickly made his way over to his brother and pulled him off the man, grabbing his arm and pulling him back. "No! Leo stop!" Emelo said as he stepped back, brother in hands.

The smile Jasper made this time was the widest yet most short-lived as the sudden impact of the ginger's fist connected at the bridge of his nose. The force vibrated throughout the Ander mentalist's skull, bursting through his ears with a loud "pop." He lost his balance tripping backwards but before his feet could leave the ground, his former target, now assailant, grabbed him by the collar. Fortunately, before he could do anymore damage his brother stopped him. Jasper mumbled a hushed word of thanks before falling back in a very undignified manner.
"Ow, ow, ow." The blue-haired man whined as the metallic taste of blood coated his tongue. "That wasn't very nice. Granted I had it coming." He said plainly before tilting his head up and pinching the area above his nostrils. He struggled to his feet and dusted his free hand off on his shorts, glancing over at the pair occasionally. It wasn't that he did trust the two not to kick him while he was down, but sometimes angry people do stupid things. Once he was finally standing back at full height, he glared at the twins with bitter eyes before relaxing and bursting into a fit of laughter. A bad introduction was no reason to lose one's humor.
"That's a strong right hook you've got there." He said, still chuckling. He shifted his eyes between the two again with a somewhat more serious face. "But all joking aside, I'm sorry. What I did was wrong and I probably desired that. I never meant to offend. Honestly, I never thought you'd notice, most people never do, but I guess you're different huh?" He give the twins a small, ashamed smirk. "It's just-" He paused changing the subject a bit, "have you ever been so excited about something you almost forget people around you have their own feeling?"
He exhaled a gentle sigh. "Let me make it up to you. Why don't we get lunch? My treat," he glanced over to the artist stall behind the redheads where a piece of work sat haphazardly on the edge, "or if you'd prefer, I'll by that painting for you. You know what, let's do both." He stretched his hands out to his sides as a presentation of the offer. His hand quickly found its way back to his face as red began to drip from his nose again.

"E let go!" Leo said as he tried to get away from his brother to go after the man again only to stop in his tracks as the guy began to laugh. Pulling away, Leo got away from his brother and just stared at the man as he laughed. "What in the hell is wrong with this guy..." Leo said just loud enough for his brother to hear.
Emelo meanwhile just stood next to his brother rather wide eyed as the man laughed. Nodding slightly he agreed with what his brother had just said, but unsure of what he should say, so instead he just kept his mouth shut.
As if Leo wasn't confused enough the next words that came out of the guys mouth only further confused him, he had a good right hook?... "Thanks... It helps that its the only arm I really like to use." Leo said as he crossed his arms over his chest some, still glaring at the man. If he tried to do that again he would make sure not to hold back, or let his brother hold him back.
Stepping off to the side some Emelo made his way to his brothers side, as he listened to what the man was saying. The guy, what was it, Anders?... seemed to just keep talking, meaning Emelo couldn't get a word in. He would have to ask his questions one the man was done, though it seemed like he was trying to change the subject. In doing so he was also trying to make it up to them?... This man was defiantly strange. The two wouldn't turn down the lunch, that's for sure, and thought he really wanted the picture there was something else that would be better than that. Stepping forward some Emelo look at the man, his eyes kinder than his brothers but still having a hard time trusting this guy, "I think we will talk you up on that offer, we can talk more in depth about this then." Emelo said as he turned to look at his brother some. Looking back he smiled slightly, "Though I think I know of something better to get than the picture. It a few stands down and on the other side of the street." Emelo said, thinking in his head that this not only would be a better deal than the picture and it may end up making his brother a bit happier too.
As Leo listened in to not only what the guy said but what his brother said, a small smirk came across his face as he mentally mapped out where his brother just said. Stepping forward some he lifted his one arm up and rested it on his brothers shoulder, "I like the way you think." He said with a smirk as he leaned up against his brother some, still being weary of the blue haired man.

"Great." Jasper exclaimed as the pair, well, one of the pair, agreed to his offer. "Alright then, lead the way." The cat said, extending his hand out to the side while giving a quick bow as if he was a host inviting guest into his home though since he was still holding his nose the gesture looked a little more than awkward.
As the group made its way through the crowd, Jasper realized he hadn't been introduced to his victims turned assailant turned outing companions. "So, do you two have names or should I just call you Punchy and Mr. McStops?" He half-joked with another goofy smile, the ridiculousness of the expression intensified by the hand obscuring part of his face.

Emelo chuckled slightly as the man made a comment about their names. That's something his brother would do, "No, we have names." Emelo said was the group walked down the street, with Anders on his left and his brother on his right, him being the divider between the two.
Leo meanwhile still didn't trust this guy, and kept a straight face as the man asked about their names. Though he didn't want to tell they guy their names he knew his brother would, so rather than try and stop him Leo decided he would just stay quiet and sit through this whole thing in silence.
"I'm Emelo and this is my brother Leo." Emelo said as they turned the continued to walk. "You said your name was Anders? Right?" Emelo asked, wanting to make sure he was pronouncing it right.
Leo snorted some as he looked forward, "Gotta say that's kind of stupid." Leo said loud enough the guy to hear. Whether it was his real name or not he still thought it was moronic to have your name like that, especially with that new law happening now.
"Leo, come on! That's rude, don't say that!" Emelo said as he turned to look at his brother with a stern face.
"What? I think it is." Leo said as he shrugged his shoulders some, "Why in the hell would you keep a name that tells everyone what race you are. That's like walking around and introducing yourself as a Human or Ander." Leo said as he looked over to the guy slightly, only to turn back and look forward. "And since we know he can do magic, his name only proves its true."
Post by Jasper "Anders" Pickett on Sept 14, 2015 4:51:17 GMT
Jasper gave a small nod as Emelo verified his name. "Yep." He scowled at Leo's comment but kept silent as his twin interjected. The juggler waited until the brothers stopped before adding his own input. "You're right. It is a dumb name," his eyes snapped to the ginger - glaring straight through his kinder double - as he spoke, "but it's a symbol of pride. That's why I chose it." He moved his eye forward again. "I wouldn't expect someone who's not proud their self to understand." His explanation was less of an insult and more of a reflecting of who he was.
"Sure a name can give away who you are. It gives something for people to base their assumptions on." His gaze softened somewhat. "For example, 'Leo' means lion, but it suggests bravery," he paused and turned slightly to the twin again, "but it can also mean needlessly ferocious." He stretched his arms a bit, "As for defining traits, claws," he raised a hand to eye level and flexed his fingers a few times, "glowing eyes, and giant bird wings are larger indicators of what someone is. So, really, names are pointless." A complacent smirk found its way onto his face.
During the blue-haired feline's lecture, a small jeweler's stand came into view. "Is this it?" He asked the group's middle with a much less formal tone.

Leo let out a small smirk as the man began to explain the whole point of his name. Of course Leo had pride in his name, after all it meant something to him, he was just smirk from the fact that he was able to get under the guys skin some. "I know what my names means but thanks for the explanation." Leo said with a fake smile as he turned slightly to look at the man. "And I do have pride in my name but for a whole different reason, it's the one I was born with and not one I gave myself." Leo said as he kept walking, the stand slowly growing larger.
Emelo sighed at both his brother and Anders, more towards his brother but also towards the man for letting his brother get under his skin. "Leo that's enough!" Emelo said in a stern voice, knowing full well that would make him stop.
Leo huffed some as he looked away from his brother and the man.
Letting out a slightly lighter sigh Emelo looked ahead of them and saw the stand coming into view. "It's actually the stand next to that one." Emelo answered as they walked up to the stand. Stepping up closer to it Emelo began to look over the table to see what they had, trying to find the fat, sweatband like bracelets that were there a few days ago. Gritting his teeth slightly Emelo began to get sad, seeing how the bracelets seemed to be gone. Just as he was about to turn away he noticed them sitting in the far back corner of the table. He smiled slight.
Leo kept his distance from the table as his brother looked it over.
There were more the other day but luck for them these were the ones. The had the same designs and same colors the two like the other day. Emelo smiled as he picked up the last two bracelets, "These are them." He said with a light smile. At first glance the two seem to be exactly the same, but on closer examination they were different. The the two bands were the same color the designs on them were slightly different, the one had a yin and yang symbol on it with the black part facing to the left, the other having the opposite of that.

Jasper gave a slight shrug at Leo's reply. "I'm proud. My father was not." He retorted. "What kind of Ander name is Jasper anyway?" The cat added almost voicelessly so that neither of the twins heard him. He kept quiet after that, only responding with a simple nod when the benevolent double corrected him.
As the ginger stepped up to the stand, so did he. He nodded again when the twin presented the two similarly modeled wristbands. He smiled at the owner of the stand. "So, how much for these two pieces here?" He gestured to the jewelry. When the salesman named his price, the blue-haired host voiced his shock and discomfort with a sudden, audible "hnng" before taken a moment to himself. His last mission had paid well but this was not in the scope of his budget.
"What about"..."or how about"..."well, maybe...?" Each of his suggested bargaining points was quickly shot down by the jeweler's adamant attitude. He fell silent for a few odd minutes before a thought sparked in his head. "Ten," he said clearly, "ten Europium, sounds reasonable, right?" The question was positively dripping with supernatural influence. (Deceit I)
