Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Kalum's lips pulled upward in a small smile as the other two members of their small party tried to decipher the meaning behind the mentioned bird and why it was brought up. Not wishing to interrupt, he allowed both the red haired woman and the one eyed man to speak while he watched Vieka eat. Unlike Stephen, he was not disgusted but amused. He had seen many things in his training regimes back home and his sister ate like no other so seeing a woman act less than lady like by no means retracted from his opinion of her.
"She is well," he replied gently or as gently as he could manage given the natural depth of his voice. "However, she has taken a fancy to leaving me for long periods at a time and I am quite curious as to why. What of your vulture? How fares he? Still trying to fight every man that comes close to you?" At this, he turned to Stephen with a small smirk and a quick of his bro. "I'd be wary of her bird, mate." Lowering his gaze, he picked at his plate and settled on one of the chocolate balls covered in coconut shavings.
Blinking confusedly at the direction of all the different voices, it took Vieka a moment to realize that the voice next to her wasn't that of the falconer she's briefly toured around the city, but instead the pesky shadow cat ordering her around. again. Scoffing, the woman pulls down her mask briefly so she can see properly, bothered by the mess her hair is becoming as she confirm that yes, it is Stephen to her side and no, it's not Kalum. Clicking her tongue in distaste, she promptly pulls back up her mask and as if to spite the half feline, purposefully jams another large wad of cake into her mouth.
Once chewed and swallowed, Vieka turned her direction to where Kalum was actually sitting, the warning about her bird flying wayyy over her sleep deprived mind. "Lurch? He's been fine, mostly with my old man recently since I've had to run all over the city a lot and having an angry Vulture tail me has it's downsides. Heard he's been breaking out a ton anyway though I've only seen him a few times......" She mumbled distractedly before taking several deep dredges from her coffee cup, a blissful sigh slipping from her mouth. "Thanks for cooling this peaches.." the woman humms softly from the rim of the porcelain, a tired sigh escaping her.

"How mature," he sighed, narrowing his eye as he observed Vieka slam another hunk of cake down. Shaking his head, he turned to Edel as the others conversed and gave her a frustrated look that silently asked 'why me.' This was originally meant to be a small treat for Edel as a thank you for teaching him about the guild. Yet here they were, baby sitting this half-alive creature and in the company of... who ever this fellow was. Of course all of this was his own since he dragged Vieka over here and invited the man to sit with them- but that was the gentlemanly thing to do. Then again, when was he ever a gentlemen.
As the other man addressed him his tired eye flicked over to observe him curiously. The way he said that seemed as if he was inferring something about Vieka and his relationship. "I have not had the pleasure of meeting this bird as of yet," he mused, narrowing his eyes a little. "I apologize but I do not recall hearing your name nor have I introduced myself. My name is Stephen Leland and the lady whom Vieka just referred to as peaches-" he paused to smirk a bit at that nickname then went on with a glint in his eye, "- is none other than the Edelweiss Fjäril - champion of bakeries and donut shops everywhere." He paused then waved his hand as he looked up, "and the fantastical presence you feel around you is the majestic spirit of McGhee - praise be unto him." You're welcome Thomas McGhee X3

"You're welcome." Edelweiss replied simply to Vieka's thanks for cooling the coffee, but had to stiff an amused snort at how Stephen had introduced her. 'Champion of bakeries and doughnut shops everywhere? Excuse her a moment, she just -had- to snicker at that. And get a comeback fitted in the same style.
"Nice to meet you, sir, and this lad sitting across from me is Stephen Leland, owner of a personal fluffy kittens platoon, ready for all your snuggly needs."

As each spoke Kalum listened with rapt attention and smiled until the last had spoken. What an odd sense of nostalgia this moment gave him. It almost made him homesick. First he began his reply to Vieka. "That is quite unfortunate. Perhaps our two birds are secretly meeting," he joked light heartedly without any knowledge of what the birds truly were up to. To Stephen's introductions he lifted his brows in amusement and chortled as he turned to Edel, "well, Miss Edelweiss, perhaps you would not mind a challenger for that title." However at the introduction given to Stephen by Edel he had to curl his lips into his mouth to keep from laughing further. "Cats are... Nice, was all he could offer then lifted his plate of seven sugar cubes to dump into his coffee. All seven went in knowing that they would all not mix and as he lifted his spoon to stir the coffee he introduced himself. "I am Kalum. To meet you all is my pleasure." Of course, since the coffee would only dissolve so much sugar what didn't dissolve settled at the bottom making it easier to scoop up the slushy sugar into the body of his spoon which he then ate after.

Alice was wandering through the Theater district curiously. They had some fascinating contraptions for street shows throughout the place. Unfortunately nobody really let her take them apart. That was all well and good. The woman peered around, looking for something. Something... there! Alice wandered into a bakery on the street. Wouldn't Kalum be surprised to have something when he got home. The man was always so darn tired, Alice hoped it'd be a nice little surprise.
... And her hopes were dashed. The idiot was already here, slurping down that sludge he called coffee and eating his body weight in sugar. Of course he would... Why did she think anything different. Alice quickly tromped up behind Kalum and swung the newspaper she was carrying at the back of his head. "You're going to kill yourself with all that sugar, and I'll be there to laugh at you when you do!" Alice looked up at the people that he was with. Creepy doctor mask lady, Stewart, no... Stanly? No... Stephen! It was Stephen. Right. And... a very pretty woman? Man? A very pretty person? Very pretty person it was.
"Err, hi... sorry about that... uhhh..." She flashed a sheepish smile at the group before looking at Stephen and practically screaming with her eyes 'help'.
"Maybe..." she mumbled to the hunter opposite, thinking it probably best that the feline noble hadn't met her over protective bird considering recent events. As the others spoke, the half dead doctor spent the valuable time stuffing her face with cake and coffee, now onto her final slice before a new voice spoke up all together. Minorly curious, she pulls her mask back down briefly to see the new player, but quickly decides she doesn't care as she wedges the leather back up and goes right back to stuffing her face again.

"Hello and welcome to the sugar table, Miss. Where everything is sweet and piled in mountains." She replied to the newcomer gal with an amused smile. Everyone sitting at that table had a ton of sugar; Kalum's pile of pastries and her own were about the same, and Vieka was on equivalent equal terms when they counted her mix of sugar, cake and caffeine. The only exception was Stephen... and that was just because the thing he had a thing for was cats rather than sweets. And one could argue kittens were still sweet (though not in the sense to be eaten). "Care to join us?"

The blow to the head did not hurt as it was only newspaper. However, Kalum was still taken by surprise and he turned in his chair to glare at whoever was responsible until he spotted Alice standing there. He should have known. Why did he expect any different? The oaf's expression softened as he eyed his sister and then he sighed. "Ladies... and Stephen, this is my sister Alice," he stated as he stood from his seat and beckoned Alice to take it instead before he moved over to snag another.
"Alice, the masked woman is Vieka, the woman with the red hair is miss Edelweiss, and that sir there is Stephen. And for the record, Alley Cat, I won't die from consuming sugar. Stop saying that... besides, if I die, who will buy you things?"

Stephen covered his smirk with his hand at Edelweiss's introduction for him. personal fluffy kittens platoon indeed. Wait, the fellow had called himself Kalum. Why did that sound familiar? He tried to figure it out as he tried to ignore Vieka's terrible table manners - but failed. Really, where was she raised? A barn?! He sighed and watched her with a frown as he reached up to rub a sore but froze when he realized what he was doing. A small blush painted his face as he quickly looked away to see a young woman approach, immediately grateful for the distraction.
The mystery of the dark haired man was solves the moment he recognised the woman chatting with him. So this was Alice's brother? He could see the similarities - though there really were not many sin e the man look like an overworked ox and the girl looked like aa, well, a girl. "I have already met Miss Alice," he commented to Kalum before turning to Alice with a nod "It is nice to see you again. So this is your brother? Small world."
