Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"Whoa, whoa whoa... " Zona said as she quickly grabbed Eryn's hand and pulled her back down to the ground before the girl could climb up the wall. "Eryn stop! Don't just go off and climb up walls like this. With all the EIRAL around your going to get caught." Zona added as she released Eryn's hand and then stood in front of her. That's all Zona needed right now, Eryn getting caught. "Listen I'll go find more of the kid. I want you to take this girl and hid out in that alley over there until I get back." Zona said as she looked at the girl then back to Eryn, "I know you probably want to help but I need you here with her. Besides its not safe for kids right now." She said as she stood back up. Zona could only hope that Eryn would understand.

Jasper responded to his superior with a modest nod. "Understood." He said as he continued to watch the spectacle in mild interest. Unwittingly, he found the beginning of a pleased smirk crawled its way onto his lips. Times were bad, yes. The acts the EIRAL were committing were deplorable, unforgivable even, but it was nice to know that he could still find pleasure in the little things. Of course, it didn't change the current situation; Jasper knew that, and what little fragment of a smile on his face quickly vanished when the dark woman was released. With a hushed sigh, the assassin decided it would be best to follow the advice of his guild leader - now, and until the end.

Was this woman actually serious? He saved her life and got her out of trouble risking his own in the process because should he be caught he'd be classified as highly suspicious and she has the audacity to not even say thank you--never mind to demand he owe her a second cup of coffee? His eyelids fell half over his eyes as he stared blankly at her. What does he even say to that? Nothing, obviously. However, as he turned to leave, he thought against just simply leaving her. "Get out of the hovel. Don't help anyone," he paused to turn back and face her with a grim expression. "And don't die," then he scrambled up the side of the building once more to make it to the roof. He could only hope that the blasted woman would listen.
Once on the rooftop again, it took him only a matter of a couple minutes to reach Vladov and as he did he caught sight of some people sneaking into an alleyway. "Three people at your four o'clock," he called to Vladov while pulling down his scope over his eye to zoom in on them. "Holding something... sacks. Can't be sure what they are." He'd fallen in beside the large man now with bow in hand. There was no point in explaining his tardiness unless asked. He doubted the other man would care for excuses otherwise.
Vlad didn't look up from his rifle when Kalum arrived. "You are beink late. Do not be doink that again. There are lives relyink on you, und you are haffink put them all in danger." Vlad adjusted his rifle as he settled in more comfortably. "If you are not beink reliable, you are beink a lee... laa... Lib... you are beink a problem. I am not needink to be babysittink a problem when I am workink with soldiers." Vlad's face remained impassive as he adjusted his sights and waited for his orders via radio.

So that was his game. thought Artorigus to himself as his commanding officer spoke. He wanted the situation to escalate. The noble gritted his teeth and clenched his fist. It would be so easy, the man's back was turned to him, he could put an end to this monster here and now. He didn't give a drat about his vow to protect the citizens of Lodan... if he did, this situation would never have happened. It would be so easy... and with his earlier charade, it would give Artorigus the perfect alibi... accidents happened in the heat of battle after all.
He was about to reach for his sword when he caught himself. No. This isn't the way to handle this. This wouldn't end things... if anything, killing him here and now would merely make him a martyr for his damned xenophobic crusade. No, better to bide time for now... Gather evidence, and then let justice decide his punishment in the courts. For now though... he saluted the man. "Yes sir." Artorigus looked at the bodies one last time before making his way to the area where the radio reports were coming in of a group of people with large bags in their possession... no doubt merely desperate people trying to flee with what few belongings they had, but no doubt there were those who'd think the same as their commanding officer and see only a threat.
Well, drat it if it was going to get him into trouble, he'd at least have to try and stop one act of slaughter. "This is Pendrake, moving to intercept targets on foot to evaluate threat level." he radioed in as he got close to the area. He soon found himself in front of the three Anders that had been reported over the radio. They looked frightened and angry all at the same time. The noble held his hands away from his sword. "Easy now, I'm not here to hurt you... despite evidence to say otherwise." he said carefully, approaching slowly with his hands still away from any weapons. "Can I ask what is in the bags? I'm just checking because, there are some who'd think you're carrying something you're not meant to be... personally, I think there's been more than enough blood shed today..."

Before Alistair could loot the bodies, or look for any documents that could be used to show them all traitors, he realized that he had no need to do such. They probably didn't have anything interesting anyway, and he'd just get his gloves dirty. He turned and left them where they lie. Someone would deal with them, or there would be a hell of a stench to contend with latter. Not that it would do much to detract from the overall stench of the place.
Taking a winding path back to the wagons, he returned a salute from one of the duty Sergeants. "How fair the carts?" Alistair asked the large balding man.
"Half full, High Commander." The man almost grunted back, like the pig that he was. Still, the man had risen through the ranks of the enlisted. Under all that fat was the body of a well toned athlete. The man was a battering ram.
"Good, keep it up, and pass the word, I want all of these full and ready to roll out in an hour. We're taking them to the prison near Cartaneu. They are expecting us." Alistair turned away and headed off again. Perhaps he should check on the progress of some of his officers.

"How are the carts, primate? Yer carts are bloody full, blasted high horse bastard. That's how they bloody fair, alright?" Maeve stood angrily spouting in the road between him and the objects in question. She had been kicked out of her own home so they could loot the dung out of it. "Are ye not satisfied yet? Y'do know some o' us work for a livin' right?" A soldier came out of the run down apartment carrying a box full of her stage jewelry, another followed with an arm full of fancy costumes. "THEIF" they called out, pointing at her. She rolled her eyes.
"Ye aint got room for me," she informed them like she knew better.
"Lady, we'll make room." He eyebrow went up, but her eyes stayed on the Commander.
"Wait, ain't that.... Bloody hell, that's Maeve Blodeuwedd, from the Gears and Whistles!"
"No... miss Blodeuwedd is a human girl, I'm sure of it,"
"She must be an Ander Sympathizer then"
"Aye, and d'ya know who else you got in them carts that ya shouldn't?!" She screamed, her anger coming out, her temper having reached the end of its fuse. Consequences be drated.

The hovel essentially was Tyrell's home. He had none save for the headquarters that belonged to MI and therefore was greeted by the sight of corpses and blood on the streets as he walked throughout the hovel. What was happening? He was lucky to have happened upon the aftermath rather than be stopped by the cause or else he might have shared a similar fate to that of the child at his feet. Who could have done this, he wondered as he knelt down with brows furrowed and breath caught in his throat. When he looked up he could see the wagons being drawn down the street and EIRAL soldiers accompanying them. Tyrell's hands clenched into fists as he retreated to hide so he might allow them to pass assuming they did not see him. A somber thought crept into his mind as he waited with his lilac eyes focused on the child's shattered body; Danny had been right.

Vladov's words had struck Kalum quite hard but he could not contest them as the large man was all too correct. His distraction with the doctor on the rooftops had been handled poorly and he should never have been there to begin with. What if something did happen? There was no time to dally on such a train of thought currently as he only nodded in agreement and ushered out a firm, "sir, yessir."
A voice crackled in over the radio then, "This is Pendrake, moving to intercept targets on foot to evaluate threat level." Was he not alone...? No... that bloody fool, thought the huntsman. Never approach an enemy that outnumbers you especially when alone! However, the raven haired soldier could not reply back nor would he move from his position to the radio near Vladov to do so. After all, he was the man's spotter and so his task was to remain the eyes. Only a fraction of a second was needed for him to spy the soldier headed for the three anders in the alleyway, and with the scoping lens over his right eye seeing detail was not difficult. Now with Pendrake closing in on them Kalum held his bow in hand with three arrows held in the other, one of the three already notched and ready. Vladov would make the first shot if anything occurred, he knew, but with three targets the large sniper would need time to reload and be unable to take out the three on his own.
"Ally closing in on targets," he muttered for Vladov to hear. "No other signs of hostilities yet."
The three anders stopped when they heard Artorigus' voice though had they cared little for what he had to say or his display of no harm. They had witnessed enough bloodshed within the passed hour and enough venom throughout the years to no longer trust any word of a human let alone a soldier, so when the largest of the three turned it was with a knife slashing for the general area of the soldier's neck and head.
On the rooftops, the glint of steel would be seen as the man turned around. With certainty that Vladov would focus the one closest to Artorigus as he presented the most danger, Kalum would not need to aim for the same target so when he loosed his arrow it was for the target behind the knife wielding man, lodging the arrowhead into the woman's heart. The third bolted for the exit of the alley and with the rifleman needing to reload Kalum notched a second arrow and shot. This arrow would catch the runner in the back of the neck and run through so that the arrowhead jutted out To insure the target was dead, Kalum shot the third arrow at the crumpled body.
Vlad grunted in acknowledgement. He adjusted his aim for the closest man and waited. He hoped they would do something. How he hoped the witches would do something. Vlad muttered a quiet prayer in his native tongue to his god and waited. There it goes! Vlad let out his breath and squeezed the trigger slowly, letting the bullet travel the entire path of the barrel before moving so he didn't throw off the trajectory. The shot streaked through the air and caused the knife wielding witch's head to practically explode in a grisly display of bone and brain matter splattering across the alleyway. He watched the other two monsters fall swiftly, and a third arrow to make sure they were dead. Good. The boy was thorough, at least.
Vlad spoke into the radio as he began reloading. "Three witches are beink slain near Ensign Pendrake's location. Fool Pendrake, be returnink to your squad. This is beink a dangerous place to be walkink alone." The man was almost done reloading when he looked at Kalum and simply gave the man a nod. Not completely useless.

She heard the cries, and the gun shots, and she screamed "STOP! They don't understand, they're only running because you've scared them, they're not trying to fight you." She never cared about the rest of these people, not once, until now. You didn't have to be friendly with the hovel rats, but you didn't have a right to exterminate them either. If they were looking for someone to fight, she was probably their own valid option.... But that wasn't what they came for. She could see that. The whole bloody army was here, like a tsunami to wash them all away without conscious.
She was not foolish enough to think she was special. If they were here to mow down the hovel, they'd be taking her with the rest of these poor bastards born to die here. Let me take one with me, please let me take one with me... Maeve pleaded in her mind as she faced what looked like inevitable death. Her eyes surveyed the soldiers with her in their line of sight, and they in hers. I could take more than one, she reconsidered with a boost of confidence. She'd always been able to take more than one before when these stuffy bastards got rowdy in the pub. "Your move..." She muttered under her breath. Were they just going to stand there and stare at her all day, or give her an answer?

Alistair spun around to face the woman that was currently screaming at him. He was ready to order her tossed in with the rest, except standing there was one of the most stunning women he'd ever had the pleasure to meet. Her red hair accented the features of her face and those sparkling blue eyes. And her body...Alistair could have bowed at the feet of god for such a creation. That was if he actually believed in such a person. No one was going to descend to help them all. It was up to Alistair to make a change in this cesspool.
A shot rang out and he turned to look as three bodies fell. The woman screamed more, but Alistair could have sworn he saw a knife clattering to the ground. He turned back to face the women, advancing on her position. She seemed even more radiant with the anger coursing through her. If he could turn her to use that anger in a more productive fashion. Latter. She'd balked at his authority, so he couldn't let her off with a simple warning. They didn't have any jail cells anymore. Not since he blew up the old barracks.
"You have to know you are standing on a dangerous precipice," Alistair said to the girl, "What is your name?" At the same time he stopped the soldiers carrying her things away from her house. "Put those back, Costume Jewelry and Clothing are not dangerous items. We don't need them taking up space in evidence."
Eryn was stop from climbing the wall by Zona and brought down , "w wait Zona, Mama said to help you and to find the kids the bring them to you " Eryn was sure she could do it , she was fast enough and she was super hard to caught by the bad men , it would have been like the time in her 1st day in lodan. "we gotta make sure everyone we can save is safe , and waiting in one place is never the best idea , no matter how good I am at hide and seek. " Eryn then looked over into the street and saw someone was being taken ,a woman that look familiar. "look Zona, is that ?" she asked worried.

Someone might descend to help them all, but it certainly was not God. Edelweiss scanned the area around with her eyes, a calm, cold evaluation of the situation while her blood boiled of dark anger in her veins.
Seeing the gratuitous slaughter scene around, the redhead had the dull feeling that God was dead... or if wasn't and still did nothing about it, as good as dead anyway. She had a couple thoughts slowly forming into ideas in her mind, but those would need some time to work. And some work during that time. First things first, she waited till making sure the soldier who had brought Vieka down from the roof was not coming back, then approached the doctor, still sticking to the shades and natural hideouts the place provided. "Vieka." She hushed to call the doctor's attention, barely more than a whisper. "What are you doing." Run, masked woman, run! The hell out of that place, unless you actually want to help them, otherwise help by staying alive.

Zona looked at Eryn as she placed a hand on her shoulder, "I know it's not wise to stay in one place for too long, but I need you to stay with her. Right now two little kids hiding in the corner won't draw as much attention as a grow woman and a child standing against a wall would." Zona said hoping Eryn would soon understand her reasoning, "The other kids would have an easier time trusting you to guide them out of this hell hole than they would be." Zona said as she looked over to the other girl who just seemed to be standing there in a daze, after all with everything that was happening who could blame her... "And besides," Zona began as she removed her hand from her the girl's shoulder, "We can have you getting caught. You have that friend of yours you need to look after." Zona added with a smile, knowing that these men wouldn't hold back on someone like Eryn, at least Zona knew how to take a beating and still get away from it alive... Turning some Zona then looked in the direction Eryn said someone was at. Zona couldn't tell for sure who Eryn was referring to. There were too many people being taken right now to worry about just one in particular.
