Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to Viktor Croswell Another night, another bar. At least, that’s how things felt sometimes. Lasair’s day hadn’t been the most exciting; woke up at midday, wandered around until sundown, and now he found himself in a bar on the far side of town without much planned. Things were quiet over in his guild right now given all the action they recently had, so he didn’t have much to do other than wander around and have a good time.
“Gimme the usual,” he said to the bartender as he sat down. He’d been back in Lodan long enough for all the barkeeps in the city to know who he was. A few moments later a fruity drink was placed in front of the read head, who sipped it before turning to look around. Hmm, no one really looked like the type to have a good time. Big angry dude in the corner, a guy in business clothing drinking like the well would run dry, a trio of couples at another corner.
Sighing, he turned back to face the bar counter. Maybe he hadn’t picked the best of places to wander into tonight

"Nikolai, going out to the bars in the hovel. You should stay here since you know... lots of Anders live there and you're, uh, fragile." Nikolai simply stared at the other then turned away to snag a dagger off of the dresser and placed it in the other's hand. "The pointy end goes in your assailant, brother."
"Hah hah, you're -so- funny sometimes, Nikolai," Viktor scowled and hid the knife away then watched as the doll went upstairs to likely read. Odd, he thought as he left his shop and locked the doors, that the bot did that. The year he'd been active, NK-5 sought out every bit of information he could possibly attain despite what his main purpose was. Best of all, NK-5 was beginning to understand various sorts of behavior and adapting them in his own... personality? It was a shame that sarcasm had to be one. Viktor smiled at the thought as he made his way into the hovel and into a particularly popular bar in the hovel, one where you were less likely to get shanked. "Oi, can I get a gin and tonic," he asked the bar keep as he approached the counter beside Lasair then nodded to the red haired man.

A new face? And one who didn’t look like trouble (the bad kind, of course). Now would be as good a time as any to try and salvage the night he thought he had lost.
“And put it on my tab,” he added to the bartender, smiling as he turned to look at the man. “Haven’t seen you around here before. Are ya new to town?” Taking a sip from his own drink, he waited for an answer.

A bought drink? And all he had to do was say hello? Viktor's brows were raised n surprised and a slow smirk spread over his features as the man behind the counter rushed to acquire what was needed for the drink. A clear liquid on ice with a lime garnish was then placed before Viktor and the red head snagged it up before turning to study Lasair. "Thanks, mate. Ain't going to complain but you didn't have to. Nah, grew up here all my life but left for a bit. Just got back. What about you? Never seen you around here before. Name's Viktor, you?"

“Lasair Landevier Lupen, at your service,” he replied with a bow, well if you could even call it a bow given that he was sitting at a barstool. “I was born and raised here but decided to go travel the world for a time. Been back in town for a while now. It’s a shame I didn’t get to meet you before ya left.” At this point, Lasair was smirking too. It really was a shame that he hadn’t met this stranger sooner. But it was alright; better late than never. So far this Viktor seemed easy going and there was already a conversation going between them. But only time would tell where the night led them.

"That's a long name. Lasair, huh? You mind if I keep this seat here," he asked though didn't really wait for an answer as he sunk himself down on the bar stool with his back to the counter. "Seeing the world huh? Guess that ain't uncommon though. Lots of people want to and Lodan's great but it's boring sometimes." With a shrug, he lifted an arm to rest his elbow on the counter and leaned back before taking a drink of his gin. "What are you drinkin'?"

“You can call me whatever you like. ‘Hey you!’ even works on most occasions.” He chuckled slightly and gestured to the seat as Viktor sat down. Turning in his own seat to face the man he continued. “I never thought of the city as boring. I just needed a change of scenery for a while. Some fresh faces, different building, that sort of thing.” Picking up his own drink, he raised an eyebrow and glanced down at it. “Sangria, nothing special.”
Post by Viktor Croswell on Aug 9, 2015 6:40:32 GMT
"I understand. Don't blame you on that. Sangria? What's that? Don't think I ever tried it," he replied as he took another drink of his gin then turned toward Lasair to set his beverage down. "When you finish that your next drink is on me," he said with a wink, smirk still on his lips. "So," begins the redhead as he takes up the gin for a third drink. "What do you do, Lesair?"

Bringing the drink the drink to his lips, he paid attention to the flavor before swallowing it this time. “I don’t know all the specifics, but there’s some red wine, orange juice, brandy, and a couple other things. It tastes like citrus so that’s what I like about it.” Oh, next drink was free? Lasair was already liking this man. Matching his smirk he continued with the conversation. “I don’t do much at the moment. Help out at my parents’ shop—they run a small jewelry store—but other than that I’m still trying to figure out the right place to be.” He took another drink; a steeper one. “How bout you?”
Post by Viktor Croswell on Aug 9, 2015 7:32:29 GMT
"That sounds like it would taste real good to be honest. Jewelry, huh? Where's it located? Think I might have to come take a look and see if I can get somethin' for my mum. " He paused with the question and gave a nonchalant shrug of his shoulder. "I'm a mechanic. I work mostly on vehicles though I guess I could figure out other stuff given some time. Oi, mind if I have a taste of your drink? I'll give you a taste of mine in exchange." Viktor took one last drink of his gin and tonic before placing the glass on the counter and sliding it toward Lasair.

He slid his glass over to Viktor before answering the questions. “We’re over in the Merchant’s district, west side. Not a fancy-smancy noble person store, just a small place.” Picking up the offered glass he took a drink from it without hesitation. He waited a moment for the man to try his before he continued. “How’s it taste?” The bit about vehicles would be remembered, but getting away from that topic would probably be better. Anders can’t exactly go riding around in cars these days.

Viktor eyed the glass presented to him and then lifted it to his lips for a sip that looked more like a drink. As he did so, he watched Lasair from over the rim of the glass then set it down to slide back over to him. Unlike the bitterness of his gin, this was far sweeter and brought him to lick at his lips quickly. "Hm, not bad," he replied. "As for the shop, can't say that's a bad thing. Actually, might be better cause it means I can walk in there," he joked lightly. "How's the gin? Ain't as good as yours, huh," he laughed lightly then looked to the bar keeper. "Can we get two more of what he's drinking? Put it on my tab this time." Looking back to Lasair, he asked, "What are you doing the rest of the night?"
Post by Lasair Landevier Lupen on Aug 9, 2015 8:30:45 GMT
“I prefer the sweet stuff; goes down without as tough of a kick.” The glass of gin returned to Viktor as Lasair grinned at his newly emptied glass. “It let’s ya drink more without feeling like your throat is gonna singe off.” When the new drink arrived he promptly took a swig from it. “Rest of the night? Can’t say I have any plans. Yourself?” Maybe he wouldn’t be busy. Or if he was, maybe it was something Lasair could join in on. Anything to keep the night rolling.

"I like anything really, but most people like somethin' smooth like that. These are dangerous, you know," Viktor spoke of the mixed drink as he lifted it then took a long drink of it. When he set it down, it was already a third of the way gone. "Can't taste the alcohol as much so makes you want to keep drinking." He pushed the empty pair of glasses toward the bar tender he snagged the glasses up and placed them into a bin with other emptied glasses. To the inquiry of his own agenda, he replied, "I didn't have plans but maybe after a few more drinks you and I can head over to the shore or walk through the city. Haven't seen Lodan in it's fullest for awhile now. Mind giving me a tour?"

“I suppose,” he mused, finding himself drinking at the same speed as Viktor. “But I’ve spent enough time around the stuff not to mind it. And besides, you don’t always need to stop drinking.” The glasses were whisked away as he pondered the next part of the man’s proposal. A few more drinks was never a bad ideas, and neither was walking around the city. “Sure thing. A moonlight tour is a wonderful way to spend an evening with someone as exciting as you.”
