Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Zona watched as the boy ran off to go get what was asked of him. It took Zona a moment before she realized Elaine was talking about the boy after her rather than Keefe... He did seem to be more noble like too... Anyway, Zona turned her attention to the throwing star Elaine pulled out. She already knew Keefe would never understand if anything was told to him, but she felt like no matter what he would want to stay here to make sure Elaine was ok. Taking the star from Elaine Zona began to examine it, "I think your right..." She said as she turned it over in her hands, "This stuff can only be bought, you would have to pay an arm and a leg for it but you could get it. But stealin' it is out of the question. He has to be someone in the upper class ring." Zona said somewhat speaking from experience. Just then she heard the door open and her guard went up. But after hearing and then seeing who it was Zona calmed down some. Nodding to the man Zona slightly ignoring him she took the star and shoved it in her pocket, having a feeling Elaine might not want to show her dad, and if she did, she would just need to ask.

"Oh, no problem." Keefe said with a light smile as he walked back off and over to the closet. Once there he opened the door and looked in again searching for the rags Elaine had requested. As he looked around he noticed there were several different kinds. "Ummmm.... " Keefe muttered as he completely missed hearing Elaine call to her father. Grabbing a few of each Keefe shut the door, and began to walk back, only to find a new person next to Elaine. "That has to be her father..." Keefe thought as he walked in holding a pile of rags in his arms. "I... Ummm. I didn't know which kind you wanted so I brought a few of each..." Keefe said as he set them on the table next to Elaine, making sure to stay out of the mans way. He wanted to say hello to the man, but now didn't really seem like the time, so instead he just stood next to Zona with wide eyes.

Elaine partially froze. She hadn't thought of what she was going to tell her parents. She couldn't exactly come out with the whole story. She opened and closed her mouth a few times thinking. "Attempted mugging." She lied. "But Zona and her brother found me and helped me out. The odds of three against one weren't appreciated." Her father's look turned dark and he seemed ready to kill. Elaine flicked her gaze momentarily to Keefe begging him to keep quiet about it just for a little while. Charles cleared his throat. "Zona here." He tossed her a rag from about the middle of the pile. "Wet it, wring it out, and clean the cut on her other arm. Boy, pleasure to meet you and since you already know where these are I need these." He held up a specific kind of cloth. Elaine felt the temptation to help, she wasn't used to being the one stuck in the chair. It made her irritable. The girl sat there with an look as she was fussed over when it hit her. Her mother wasn't here. She went into momentary panic mode. "Dad where's Mum?" Charles looked up confused. "She went shopping. We'll have you fixed up before she gets home." He figured that's what she was riled up about. Elaine just kept glancing to the stairs unable to help it.
Her father set to work with his own rag after a trip to the kitchen sink and began to work on the bullet wound. She watched him as he studied it seriously but broke out into a half a smile. "Well its not as deep as I was worried it would be. Hit the bone right there." He pointed. Elaine looked down at her shoulder carefully a bit relieved. Missed everything important, but just barely and by sheer luck. She wasn't eager to meet "Gray" again if he was healed and able to use his right. She herself had a weapon that was usually ambidextrous. Pondering that her concentration broke as her dad poked her shoulder. She almost growled and glared at him. "Sorry." He said amused but serious. "Zona how is yours looking?"

"Righty-o boss." Zona said as she pushed off from the wall and caught the rag that was thrown at her with one hand. Walking over to the sink she did juts as she was told, wetting the rag, then ringing it out. It took but seconds for her to do this before she was back over to Elaine, and kneeing down next to her. Zona wiped around the wound carefully making sure not to push to hard, but making it hard enough to actually do its job. Once she was done with that she wiped the rest of the blood off of the girls arm before reaching into her side bag and pulling out her wrapping. She always had that just in case. "Want me to wrap it up now or do you have to do somethin' with it?" Zona asked as she looked over to the man, with a slightly flat and emotionless expression.

Keefe nodded his head furiously as he ran back to the closet to get more of the rags the man told him to get. As he opened the closet he remembered exactly where those rags were, and grabbed as many as he could find, it ended up to be a good pile of them. Keefe then walked back in and put the pile of new rags next to the old ones, he then took the old ones and moved them off to the side, putting them down on the counter, hopefully off to the side and out of the way. "Is there, um, anything else I could do?" Keefe asked wanting to help but not knowing what to do.

Elaine glanced at Zona and stuck her tongue out playfully. Anything to keep herself distracted. The girl checked out the cut on her left arm and made a face. It wasn't as bad as she had thought. Charles looked up. "Yes go ahead. Elaine sit still I can't do this when your squirming." The girl had shifted to find another comfortable position. Muttering something to herself she grew still. Suddenly a large pile of rags landed on the table. "I'm not bleeding to death you know." She said amused at the amount of rags. "Thank you boy." Charles nodded getting up to wet more of them. "And you can keep her occupied. Don't let her move around." Elaine narrowed her eyes at the table. With the amount of rags her dad was working with she knew there was a bullet in her arm. She cursed under her breath. Oh well.
Charles returned from his work at the sink to look his daughter in the eye. She seemed determined. He was trusting the boy to keep her distracted. He poked at the wound again and murmured some medical terms to himself. It seemed the bullet hit bone in the front portion of her shoulder. It wasn't deep so this wouldn't be so bad. The man grabbed a pair of tweezers and figured he'd make it short and sweet.
"Bloody hell!" Elaine grit through her teeth as sharp pain invaded her shoulder. She squeezed her eyes shut and grimaced trying to register what just happened. Whatever it was it hurt. "That was indeed bloody hell wasn't it?" Her dad said holding up a bullet pinched in the metal prongs. "Ow!" Elaine said dryly leaning forward to rest her head on the table. The pain had broken through her numbing defense and now she was just miserable. "Here, hold this and apply pressure." Her father tossed Keefe a wet rag and walked off. Elaine just sat there. "The just shot club lost its appeal." She mumbled loud enough for Zona to hear.

Nodding some Zona turned back to the girl and began to wrap the girls arm. Though she was no medical expert she was rather handy with a think of wrapping. In no time the the wound was wrapped and Zona was out of the way, giving the man as much room as he needed. Zona watched he father worked on the girls shoulder and then pulled out a bullet. Fun Zona was always the one in that position, she had never seen it happen to someone else before. As the man tossed a rag to Keefe Zona chuckled some at the girl, "Just wait. The scars ya get are the fun part." Zona said with a smirk as she walked back to her original spot in the room, crossed her arms, and leaned back against the wall.

Keefe nodded as the man asked him to keep Elaine distracted, but was was he to talk about... He could bring up a time that they had together, but that may get her excited and she may want to mover her hands. He could ask about what she did today but he was pretty sure she didn't want to talk about that. Just then he though of the perfect thing. "Ok Elaine, Tell me what your favorite color is." He asked with a smile as he continued to throw questions similar to that at her. In no time it her father got the bullet out and everything was ok.
As he looked up to the man Keefe saw a rag come fly at him, he just barely caught it. "Ok." Keefe said as he walked over to Elaine's side and held the rag over the wound, making sure to apply pressure. "Let me know if I'm pushing to hard... I don't want to hurt you." Keefe said as he looked down at the rag, focusing on the job at hand.
(I am assuming Keefe did his job and kept Elaine distracted but just in case I had him say something)

Elaine answered the questions as they were given. "I already have one scar, I figured that was enough." Elaine said thinking about the thin scar on her collarbone. She grew quiet. It wasn't like Keefe could hurt her much more than she was now. "No your fine." She said gratefully. "Thanks for carrying me." Her father returned and nodded his thanks to Keefe. "Well done Zona." He said running an eye over her handy work then setting to do his own. "The wound on your side. How deep is it?" He asked quietly only to Elaine. She glanced down at the floor. "I....don't know...." She murmured. As if in response the pain in her side flared. "It hit between ribs." She said glancing at her father. He wouldn't meet her gaze. It was obviously dangerous to get hit anywhere near your ribs but if it hit in between she could have internal bleeding. And she certainly wouldn't have helped it by trying to run home. As unlikely as it felt to ger that it had done anything more than graze her Charles wasn't going to make any assumptions. He looked around to the two guests before going back to Elaine. "Can they stay?" He murmured. Elaine nodded, Zona had to. She needed to talk to her. Grunting in acknowledgement Charles crouched down to look at her side. He lifted the lower half of her shirt to view the damage. It was a long cut and arguably worse than the bullet wound. But looks can be deceiving.

"Ok. And no problem, I couldn't have you walk all the way home like that." Keefe said with a light smile, happy he wasn't hurting her. As her father came back in he waited until he was back in his spot at the table before moving away and letting the man work. Keefe brought the rag over to the sink and clean it off some, before ringing it out and bringing it back over to the man, seeing if he needed it again. Keefe then walked back over to where Zona was standing, as he looked on, interested to see what Elaine's father would do. Just then he began to lift her shirt. "Mmmm..." Keefe mumbled as his face turned red some. Quickly he turned away and held a hand up, blocking his sight. "Maybe I should wait outside..." Keefe thought as he looked at the ground.

"Hey one is never goin' to be enough." Zona joked some with a small smirk. She watched as everyone moved around her, everything seemed so in sync. Just then Elaine's father praised her for her work, in return Zona gave a small salute-like gesture with her first two fingers. It was an odd way of saying thanks, but it was something she did here and there. She then turned to look back at the floor only to then hear Keefe mumble something, turning her attention to the boy she saw just how red his face was. Quickly Zona shot her hand up to her mouth as she tried to conceal a small laugh she had. It was rather adorable the was he acted towards the girl. "God those two are perfect for each other..." She though as she shook her head some.

The corners of her lips twitched at Zona's remark. Elaine suddenly felt cold air flush against her side. Her father was studying intently. The girl looked up as she heard some shuffling only to see Keefe's back. He was no doubt red in the face. 'Hey, at least I'm not shirtless like you were!' She thought sarcastically but turning a bit pink none-the-less. Only about six and a half inches of smooth skin on her side was exposed, just enough to see the cut. Charles mumbled more medical terms to himself. Looking up again from her busy father Elaine saw Z with a hand over her mouth and shot her a look. She cleared her throat and raised her eyebrows in a look that said "seriously"? "Elaine sit up straight." Her father commanded. She did so and Charles went for another look. He shook his head without a word and Elaine went pale. She didn't know what he was thinking. Her father didn't take long to stitch it up, much to Elaine's discontentment, and cover it with a square of gauze. "I'll put something sturdier on it tonight." He said dropping her shirt before going downstairs to do who knows what.
Elaine turned to her companions. "You can go sit in the front room," She said to Keefe first then turned to Z. "I need you for a minute." First things first she was changing out of these clothes. Leading them into the hallway she pointed to the big open doorway to the room she was dropping him off at on her little house train. "I'll be back in a minute." She promised before grabbing Zona's sleeve and tugging her down the hall to her room. Opening the door she ushered Z in and shut it again catching her breath by leaning against the door. "Do you think we can report this to Epikuro? Would it do any good?" She asked pushing off the spot with a wince and going to pull open her closet door before disappearing inside. It wasn't a walk-in closet but it had some room. Elaine began shifting through clothes trying to find something comfy.

"God those two..." Zona thought as she turned to look at Elaine some, she had just caught a glimpse of the girl giving her a dirt look, "What?" Zona said as she played it off as thought she had no idea what the girl was talking about. Zona then nodded as Elaine said she needed her for a moment, she had a feeling she knew what was going to be asked. As she followed the girl, the two ended up back in the girls arty room. It still looked like a rainbow threw up in there. Zona crossed her arms and leaned up again the door after Elaine moved, she didn't want to do something to one of the walls. "I would say yes, but we have next to nothin' to go off of other than the throwin' star. And I think it would be harder to find the right owner of it with all the nobles that like to buy these for fun..." Zona said as she took the star out of her pocket and examined it again. "Are you goin' to tell your dad about what actually happened?" Zona asked, feeling like it may be a good idea to tell him, "I have a feelin' this attack had nothin' to do with the guild, so ya should be ok if ya did tell him." Zona said as she looked up some, unsure of what the girl wanted to do.

"Yes. Ok..." Keefe said as he waited to look until he was sure Elaine was all patched up and her shirt was down. Though it wasn't up all that high... still.... He then followed Elaine and went off into the room that she told him to wait in. "Ok! Don't take too long." Keefe said with a light smile as he turned around and looked at the chairs in the room. Finding a nice one he sat down, and waited, looking around as he did so.
(Keefe will not reply until Elaine comes back into the room or he is spoken to directly. Just an FYI)

Elaine found herself a lavender long-sleeved shirt and some shorts and changed into them slowly. Her shoulder and side were giving her trouble. She was going to grab the painkillers on her way back through. She got to the sleeve on her right arm and planned her next moves carefully. Sighing she managed and came back out before sitting on her bed with a huff. "Everything hurts." She mumbled before looking up. "I suppose so, but what exactly is Dad going to do? It's not like he'd have better luck than a guild of trained assassins who hunt people down for a living." She kept her voice low. The girl shook her head and reached up with her left arm to pull the ribbon out of her hair and discard it on the bed. "I don't know. It was an utter surprise and I was embarrassingly ill prepared." Elaine put her good arm on her knee and chin in hand allowing her wounded shoulder to with her arm to drape across her lap. She was irritated and upset.
