Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Lasair tried to resist, he really did, but she was adamant on him joining her on the dance floor and he didn’t want to put up too much of a fight. As she led him to the middle of the floor, he was certain that she had had too much to drink. The way she talked, the way she smiled, the way she moved, none of it was like her. Maybe he shouldn’t have gotten her that drink after all.
When she pulled him close, he wanted to turn around and run. This wasn’t right, not at all. But he couldn’t escape, that would be mean, and he wasn’t at the point of being mean just yet. So he took a deep breath and attempted to do what she was saying. It was the bare minimum he could do. There was no way he would close his eyes, but he did keep them fixated on her. She had said to focus on her, so he did. However moving to the music he could not do. Not this sober, at least.
It didn't take long for a loose chuckle to escape her, her eyes flickering open to watch him with amusement. "I must either be really scary on a normal day, or you have no where near enough alcohol in you to be doing this." the mirth was visible in her eyes, and as much as her sadistic streak was getting a kick out of making the red head uncomfortable, it wasn't getting her point about music across at all. She hummed, letting her hands drift upwards before stretching slightly, slinging them lazily around his neck before letting out a soft sigh, walking backwards and leading them both off the dance floor.
"I won't torture you anymore." She mused, but she looked a little downhearted. "I may have had a few more then usual, but i can still tell when someones uncomfortable. still, It's quite the sight to see the usually slick Lassair Lupen out of his depth." She teased, flopping back on her seat once they were back in safety away from the dance floor and picking up her previously discarded drink. Her head tilted, she watched the others dance with a minor amount of envy. she wanted to go back out their, if she was honest. What she wouldn't do for a pair of old fire fans.

She was right about the alcohol, but he was still too speechless to say anything to her about it. The moving of hands to his neck didn’t help with that. But when they exited the dance floor, he was more than relieved. At the table he didn’t even bother sitting down, opting instead to chug his drink and get a refill.
As he sat back down, he finally brought his voice back. “Let me get a few more drinks in me. Then I’ll maybe consider dancing again.” What he should have done was got up and left, but seeing Vieka being unlike herself, well, something made him stay. Getting a little drunk wouldn’t hurt, he’d gotten a start from hopping around already. And seeing her look at the people dancing with such longing, well, he wanted to see her smile as much as he could before the night ended.
If she hadn't been amused before, she certainly was when her new dancing companion downed his drink in one fell swoop and immediately left to fetch another, and it showed on her face too. Still, when he returned and told her he would give it another chance later, she visibly lit up, her eyes widening and that small grin on her lips that made her look like a child on Christmas.
"You sure? You seemed rather unhappy up there, are you sure dancing with my grumpy self if something you could force yourself to do?" She teased, the smirk on her lips nothing but mocking, although in a playful sort of way. Clearly, she was getting quite a bit of enjoyment out of his discomfort.

Sitting down, he took a large gulp of his new drink before replying to her. “And you seemed rather happy over there, dancing, instead of sitting with me. I’ll be fine, just let the liquor kick in.”
This really was a side of Vie he’d never seen before. She was smiling, teasing, relaxed, all the things regular Vie weren’t. Not to mention the fact that she visibly looked excited when he mentioned going dancing again. If she remembered this night (and he hoped she would) he wanted her to remember that he was going out of his comfort zone for her.
"Call it a guilty pleasure of mine." She mused, not denying his accusation. Her head tilted towards the dance floor again as the tunes changed into something like a salsa, couples pairing up and showing off their thing, the curl of Vieka's smile became playful as she watched the light flicker off the moving bodies, her foot moving to the music. "When i was younger and we traveled on the road a lot, i used to dance a lot more then i do now. The music was my rhythm, and if it was with a group or on our own, with fire or without, we used to rule those nights with magic and movement. Of cause as soon as we hit Lodan and settled down, i ended up with too many responsibilities to keep up that kind of life style..." the half blood trailed off, a light frown beginning to form on her face. She was talking a whole lot more then she meant to, and while she hadn't revealed anywhere near the whole reason for her being the way she was, she was beginning to toe the line a little on how much she was willing to reveal to a stranger.
Vieka took another large mouthful of her drink, telling herself mentally to keep her mouth shut.

“Did you like that lifestyle? All the traveling, moving around, that freedom?” There were times where he missed being able to solve his problems by leaving town, but that wasn’t an option anymore. Settling down had come with a price, but it was worth it to actually have friends that lasted more than a few nights. He was happy about that, but it was still new territory.
Shrugging, he took another large gulp of his drink. As sweet as it was, it still had that burn of alcohol. One more after this and he should be ready to dance.
"Heh, if i were sober i would have said no, that it was too much hassle, but if you asked my old man? He would say i was always a bit of stray ever since i was born, just doing what i wanted and going where i wanted." She gave a carefree shrug, taking another swig before watching a young man make his way over, someone she was sure she'd met at some point or another, but she'd never been all that good at faces or names.
"Are you free for the taking, m'lady? It's been a while since i got to dance with you" He questioned with a smile, but his eyes seemed to be glancing to Lassair rather then focused on her.
Vieka raised a brow, resting her cheek on a closed fist as she watched him, no doubt making him nervous under her gaze. "Are you asking him or are you asking me?" She questioned, an amused expression seeping onto her face. "I mean, he is rather pretty isn't he?" She grinned, watching as the male before her start stuttering.
"Ah- no that's not it at all! It's just i didn't know if you two came together...?" he trailed off, what ever confidence he had when he had first approached dissipated out the window with her mocking.

Before he had a chance to reply to that, some young fellow approached the pair and asked one of them to dance. Evidently he didn’t care that Lasair was with her, which bothered him a little, but glancing at Vieka showed that she was amused with the little guy. So Lasair could build off of that.
“We may not have entered together, but we are sitting together now,” he said casually, sitting forward in his seat. “I decline your invitation to dance, but she can answer however she wishes.” He wouldn’t stop her if she wanted to go, he was a lousy dancer anyway. At least she had called him pretty, that was something to remember.
The male looked like he was about to scoff at Lassairs comment on dancing but didn't get a chance to when Vieka stood up, his gaze redirected at her with an almost hopeful look.
She wasn't wearing anything that would really complement dancing if we were being honest. Her boots had been discarded by the foot of her chair (where her feline friend had long since abandoned her), and she wore nothing but a modest pair of fitted embroidery trousers and a silk grey shirt (her favourite colour), several of the buttons loose at the top and just tight enough to hint at her figure underneath. As it was though, Vieka proved she didn't any kind of dress to show off how she could move her hips, a loose circular motion to begin with as she began feeling the music.
Their intruder to their night offered his hand, a rather smug smile forming on his lips with the thought that she accepted his invitation, however the look switched to confusion when she moved past him and his offered limb, swinging herself and twirling around him smoothly in one motion, bumping his hip mockingly so that he stumbled before twisting her way over to where Lassair was sitting, a half lidded, playful smile curling her lips.
Vaguely, she was aware that she was most definitely just as drunk off the atmosphere of the music as she was off the alcohol as she moved around his chair, letting her hands slide from her hips to her shoulders, across the back of his chair as she moved, shifting her hips as she moved back in front of him and began moving backwards, her eyes on him the entire time, her hands briefly twisting into her hair before beckoning him to follow, her eyes challenging.

As much as he didn’t want to see Vie run off with some stranger, Lasair wouldn’t do anything to stop her. She could take care of herself; she’d made that perfectly clear numerous times. But he would be a bit sad not to see her smile up close and personal.
He didn’t move as she stood up, barely paying the smug guy any attention, but then she moved past the guy and straight to Lasair. Her dancing around him would normally make him uncomfortable, but between the alcohol and the annoyed look on the other guy’s face, he was actually a bit happy about it. He finished what was left of his drink and got up to follow Vie, his own eyes saying that he accepted the challenge.
Seeing him accept her invitation immediately made Vie light up, her mocking and challenging smirk widening into a happy grin as she slowed her shimmy back, waiting for him to catch up to her before slotting one gloved hand with his and placing his other on her hip.
"I wasn't sure you were going to join me!" She laughed slightly, twisting them so they disappeared into the crowd and out of sight of the rather peeved looking lad who had been the one hankering for a dance. "I'm glad you did though, just follow my lead okay?"
Of cause, it was traditional for the male to lead, but considering Lupen didn't seem to know how to dance she would show him the basics and let the rest of it just be fun. "It's a basic 8 step rhythm, but there's a pause for the music on the 5th beat, so it's one two three four, pause, six seven eight, pause. Move from a central spot and move forward one two three four pause, then back again six seven eight" She half yelled over the music, just close enough and just loud enough so that the red headed ander could hear her, letting him make the basic movements while she embellished it with her own fancy foot work and twirling of her hips.

What was he getting himself into. At first he was happy to see Vie light up and smile, but then she grabbed his hand and pulled him into the dance. Her instructions made no sense but he tried to keep up anyway.
Forward a few steps, back a few steps, repeat. It was actually kind of simple, but all this extra movement Vie was doing was harder for him to mimic. How does one twirl hips or spin around like that? He’d lost his voice again so he couldn’t ask any questions, but he gave it his best effort, even smiling a little as he began to pick up the beat.
Vieka laughed again, her eyes closing in genuine mirth. "See, all that fuss and your doing fine!" she mused, lifting both their hands up so she could do a half turn, crossing her arms above her head before bringing both pairs back down, making sure his palms held the front of her hips while her back rested against his torso. "Now to the side, same pattern~ one two three four pause, back to the middle six seven eight" She called, her eyes now closed as the tune transitioned into the next song, her hips shimmying as she copied the movement of his feet. When she didn't think he'd let go of his grip, she let her hands leave his to loosely drape them around his neck, her hips shimmying slightly forward then moving back and repeating the action while they moved in their sideways motion before circling smoothly.

He followed along as best as he could, but his inexperience caught up with him. First he stepped on her foot, a quick “Sorry” escaped his lips, mostly out of reflex. But he recovered, mostly. But then he tripped (on what is anyone’s guess), falling out of the tune but not losing his balance. Between the fast beat and complicated footwork, he tried to keep up, tried to recover.
But then he really tried, falling backwards onto the floor, too dazed to tell if he had dragged Vie down with him or not. Everything continued to spin around him as he looked up from where he landed.
