Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
The unnatural yellow glow of his feline orb moved as his eyes flicked over to Max, watching her leave as a pompous smirk lit his lips. A Leland always gets his way, no matter what. Now, all he had to worry about was whether or not she would harm anyone in the house. Of course, if she did away with their annoying butler... Well, he would have the pleasure of getting rid of that despicable man and punishing Max for going against the code. Satisfied how things turned out, he settled in to enjoy some peace and- "EH! If it ain't Triune 'imself! 'ow ya doin', buddie? Been ah-while. Feels like ye been avoidin' me or sumthin.' I got sum' dirt to tell ya!" Without even looking, Stephen could tell that his blissful moment had been broken by the annoying, shrill voice of Bones. Well there goes his "peaceful moment." Bloody hell.
The Leland mansion was surprisingly quiet on this cold afternoon. A certain half-ander might consider it to be too quiet but not everyone was as paranoid as thatself-centered hamster odd fellow. There were a few lights on upstairs but other then that, the place was still.
Max approached the estate in silence, not even making a sound with her light footsteps. Her dark cloak also helped her here, as none could see but a shadow when looking towards her. There was no obvious entrance to this building; she had gathered that much when she was last here. Instead, she approached the small crawl space she had seen, the one Lone lived in. Perhaps the girl would be there right now. Max wouldn’t mind seeing her again, but she couldn’t forget her mission. She said she’d be back by sunrise and she planned to do that.
Creeping over to the crawl space, she made the faintest sound as she slipped within.

Lone sat straight up in fear as she heard a creak, someone enter through her little crawlspace, breathing heavily, her chest heaving, and a cold sweat ran down her forehead. She had been sleeping, not very soundly, but sleeping. That's more than she had been able to as of late. The cold made it very difficult, and she had been plagued with terrible nightmares in the instances where she really was able to fall asleep. Tentatively, she crept forward and peered into the other part of the space, scanning the areas for intruders.
All of a sudden Lone was there, looking right at Max. It was a little unnerving, but at the same time a relief that there’d be no worry as to accidentally waking the girl up. Hoping to ease a bit of the tension, Max raised a hand and tried to smile slightly. Hopefully she would remember her.

Oh, it was just that strange person from before! What was she doing here? Did she need help? Lone crawled out into the bigger space and stood next to the hooded friend, looking up to her with her wide eyes in an attempt to convey her willingness to be of assistance.
Max smiled slightly at seeing Lone again, and it was nice that she seemed to remember Max. “I need to sneak into the house,” she explained quietly. “Can you help?” She pointed upwards in case Lone didn’t understand her words. There wasn't a sound coming from the floors above, so hopefully now would be the best time to get in, get what's needed, and then get out.

Lone glanced where Max pointed, then looked back at her and nodded quickly. From there she scampered off towards one of the tunnels in the crawl space for Max to follow, but she made no indication of her wanting them to do so.
“I hope you know where you’re going. I don’t have a lot of time,” Max said, mostly to herself, as she followed Lone down one of the tunnels. She had told Stephen that she’d be back by morning. She didn’t have any time to lose.

Lone mumbled something softly and looked in the opposite direction from the entrance, and scampered that way, not signaling Max to follow behind her but expecting the person to do so.
Max followed the young girl’s trail, hoping to find a way into the house soon. She really didn’t have any other leads unless she tried to push open one of the floorboards now. How many tunnels could be under one house after all?

Lone stopped, opening up a grate that screeched as it swung open, and crawled aside for Max to go through, but upstairs subtle creaking could be heard...
“Thank you,” Max whispered to the girl. Stepping forward, she looked up through the grate and tried to get an idea about what was going on in the house. Thankfully crawling underneath it had adjusted her eyes to the darkness. She peered around slowly and tried to see if anyone was in the room she was looking at.

Max appeared to be in the kitchen The cook could be heard whistling to himself in the next room over, his heavy footsteps echoing into the room. A large counter completely blocked her view of the room that the other man was but part of a door could be seen- a convenient escape which opened to the stairwell that lead up to the main house and out of the servants quarters.
Lingering in the hole she was crawling out of, Max listened to the whistling coming from elsewhere. It would be best to avoid that. She darted over to the stairs and made her way up, promising herself to come back down for the fish later. If she could. She had picked up a messenger bag on the way over here for a couple coins to carry the books, but whether or not there was room for food was debatable. She ascended the stairs quietly and peered down the hallway before picking a direction and following it, trying to find a room with a lot of books.
