Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
A bit confused, Max sat down as well. She didn’t understand this girl, but she was interesting—which was a change of pace given the street life. Glancing back at Lone’s wings, Max hoped to strike up some kind of conversation. “Can you do magic?” she asked.

At the mention of magic, Lone sat up straighter, stared at Max for a second, then stood up tentatively. She held the palm of her hand towards the ground and slowly brought up a little bit of dirt, but it fell back to the Earth, and she hung her head, plopping herself back down again, ashamed of her failure. She noticed that some anders were able to hide her wings, and she didn't even know how to do that. She regretted trying to move rocks yet again in front of the strange new person.
Seeing Lone give up so easily, Max shook her head. She shouldn’t quit just like that. No one should. Reaching out for Lone’s hand (now that she was seated again), Max took a pinch of dirt and put it into her hand. “Try again,” she said, her gaze a bit softer than it had been earlier. Maybe lifting the soil was the hard part. Maybe with it already in her hand, it’d be easier.

Lone squeezed her eyes shut, then, after a moment, opened one, and then the other. She hunched her shoulders, but she tried again and concentrated on the dirt in her hand. Slowly it lifted, then hovered in between their faces.
Max couldn’t help but smile as the soil lifted into the air. She was impressed. “That’s really cool,” Max said, holding her smile for a moment. Magic still scared Max, but coming from a small girl like Lone, it was fascinating. Not wanting to break her concentration, Max sat still and watched the soil float between them.

As Max continued to watch the dirt float between them, her concentration was suddenly broken when her stomach growled again. She did her best to ignore it, but her stomach was getting restless, it seemed.

Lone immediately dropped the dirt and got up abruptly, grabbing Max's wrist and pulling her along with her. After going for some time, they arrived at a bakery, and Lone reached into the pocket that was on the skirt of her dress and brought out a tiny coin, nothing that could get anybody more than a muffin or so, and handed it to Max.
“Thank you,” was all Max managed to say. Nobody had freely given her money before. It was rather surprising. She looked down at the coin for a few moments before going inside the bakery, buying a muffin, and then coming back out. She broke the muffin in half and handed part of it to Lone. She couldn’t keep the whole thing for herself.

Smiling slightly, Max ate her half of the muffin in silence. When they were done eating she looked back at Lone and asked a question. “What do you want to do now?”

Lone brought her hands up to her chest and thought for a moment. From behind them, a gruff voice arose, and she jumped a little. It was not aimed at them, but Lone recognized the voice's owner. It was the man who tried to hurt her when she had accidentally tripped into someone's laundry. She looked around frantically, for a place to hide, as she was a very recognizable person with her hair the way it was, and seeing none, she bolted away as fast as she could, leaving Max in her dust.
