Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

What kind of name was Rook? She shrugged, letting the thought disappear, there were far stranger names she supposed. "Mae," She replied in a single syllable, accepting her drink and her spirits rising the minute she had one in her hand. Ikuze was too kind, tossing some kudos in her direction. "How about a toast?" She ask her companions, eager to wet her parched throat after that performance, and to loosen up before the next. The next one was supposed to be the biggest number she'd ever performed yet.
"If we should stumble out of this bar, pray this night is worth the scars!" She lifted her glass and made eye contact with the trio beside her... then tossed it back and downed the contents, curious if anyone would do the same, and whether or not they'd race her to the bottom.

Rook grinned at the two girls. "Pleasure's mine, I assure you." He looked at the red head with the biggest grin and raised his mug high in the air in response to her toast. When he saw her toss the drink, he did the same. Caught in the moment he rushed the drink before slamming the mug on the table and spinning to the bartender. "Another! Got a good feeling tonight!" He waited for the drink before spinning back around to the group and grinning like a fool. "So how long've you two been working here? Ya know what, doesn't matter... What does matter is how long 'til the next show? 'Cause I'm kind of curious what it'll be." Rook scowled at Iacomus and leaned forward. "Drink up, bucko. We're here to relax, right? If money's your problem, you three are on me tonight." He really hoped the gaunt man wouldn't sour his mood with all that tip toeing aroand...
"Nope, never seen ye in my life." lied the thief when the top hatted man asked if they had met before. "Could be ye were in the audience from another gig though." she offered as a reason for the supposed familiarity. Ikuze rolled her eyes and smirked as Maeve tossed her drink down. The thief just took a long draught of hers instead before putting down the empty glass. "Eh, sorry. Tried the tossin' thing once... didn't work out." she said with a shrug. "Next show's in about..." she looked over towards the clock on the wall behind the barman. "About fifteen I think." said Ikuze before she looked over to Maeve. "We need to change? Sade wasn't exactly clear on the details with me when he rushed me here for the last one." asked the guitarist.

Iacomus lifted his glass along with Mae, but took another small sip, and did not drink his quickly as the others seemed to. He did not want a repeat of whatever may have happened the other night. It may or may not have been alcohol related, but in the case that it was, he would have to be extra careful. He listened to the others' conversation, and chuckled to himself. "Money is no problem, although I do appreciate the offer." He was quite sure these people were not to fond of him... Not surprising, of course. "I do agree! I'd love to see your next show." he chuckled again and smirked maliciously, then took another sip of his drink. It was only about a quarter of the way down. The girl stated that she had never seen him before... But something about that her face... He stared at her in an attempt to figure it out...

Maeve clinked her empty glass against the one Rook discarded on the bar as he called out for another round. She grinned, biting her bottom lip to try and contain her smile while she leaned her elbows on the bar and winked at the man. "Another round? Sounds like my kind of fan," she joked. Ikuze was trying to throw off the sense of recognition between herself and the suited man. Mae looked over at him as Ikuze looked at the clock. "She may not know yeh, or yeh her, but m'thinks you look familiar from someplace..."
"15 minutes...we need to change?" The guitarist asked and Maeve glanced back at the stage considering. "I'd love to see your next show," The gentleman added.
"Uh, yeeee--ahh, looks like it, Sade's given us that look from behind the curtain, see?" She pointed his way and sure enough the man was standing there, his eyebrows up to his hair line as he stared back. "C'mon, les'go." She nodded for Ikuze to go with her, then turned quickly to say to Rook, "Keep my drink cool for me? I'll be back for it."
The two girls slipped away, leaving the men to keep each other company. Back stage they were stripped unceremoniously of their black and silver, and draped in layers of shiny opal fringe. "A please disrobe woulda been nice," Mae grumbled. Sade didn't even avert his gaze as he bossed the stage hands around and got the team ready for the next number. It was all business with him - and this was their biggest number ever performed on this stage. She glanced over the heads of the back up dancers to find Ikuze in the glittery mosh pit. "Well..." she said, shrugging into her 2nd outfit. They were matching again. How cute. "see ya when it's over." Maybe they could get some shots from their kindly benefactor back at the bar
The stage was in complete darkness, only one spotlight hitting center stage where Maeve was sitting on top of a poorly crafted wooden letter, most of it made of painted cardboard with naked light bulbs poking through. She balanced her weight carefully while trying to make it look effortless. It was trickier than the string of notes that came out of her mouth as soon as the audience hushed to abated silence. The rest of the lights, instruments, and dancers would come in seconds later...
Ikuze groaned as she caught the look Maeve was on about from Sade. "Yeesh, didn't know his eyebrows could get that high. Later." she said to the two men as she followed Maeve to backstage. She gave a squeak as she was forcibly changed from the black and white maid outfit into the shiny opal fringe. The thief clutched at her wig to make sure everything was still in place, scowling at the dressers in the process before something dawned on her. "Wait... why am I dressed like her?" she asked Sade, pointing to Maeve. "Ain't no guitar in this number." was his only reply, the blue haired girl's eyes widening with dread realisation. "Oh crap..." she squeaked before she was pushed into position with the other dancers.
Ikuze spotted one of the regular dancers near her and before the number started she got her attention. "Which number's this? Sade kinda.." she began, the other girl nodding in understanding. "Burlesque." was all she said before Maeve began her song. Great... that was... oh good, this one I know the moves for... kinda... the thief thought to herself before the lights sprang to life and she began to move. She first copied the other dancers, trying to get into the headspace of the rhythm until she got into it, just in time for the psuedo-improv portion of the dance number. The girl did smirk a little though during the show for one reason. Shame Stephen ain't here. By the end of the number she was sweating and tired, her feet were killing her, and she felt a deep desire to murder Sade.

As the girls walked away, Rook turned to Iacomus with a grin. "You got a thing for the little black sheep?" He wiggled his eyebrows at the gaunt man and took another drink from his mug. "So mate, why're ya so stiff. Relax! You should be here to have fun, cut loose a little." He took another drink as the performance started and was on the edge of his stool once the singing began. This was fantastic! Easily one of his new spots to frequent. And who knows? Maybe Red'll be there more often than not. Thinking of Red, Rook turned and ordered her a fresh drink for when she came back. When the show ended, he was one of the first on his feet and quite close to being the loudest one at the bar cheering. Definitely coming back again!

"Yes, you are completely right! I came here to relax, so why should I not?" Iacomus did wish he could relax more, but he was still somewhat nervous that he would have a repeat of the other night.... Although, now that he thought about it, however, he really did not know if it was due to alcohol, and Clancy did say that he did not necessarily look hungover when he had returned... He looked back up to the stage where they were now performing and grinned. He did very much enjoy their last performance and he was sure he'd enjoy this one... But the black-haired one... He knew he recognized her from somewhere, but he truly did have no idea... Wait a second, had he maybe have met her that night when he remembered nothing... No, no, the man sitting next to him was right. He had come here to relax, not worry aimlessly. He brought the edge of the glass up to his lips and let the liquid slide into his mouth.

She was breathless by the end of that one, definitely one of the hardest songs and dances they had in their arsenal. The curtain fell to a roaring applause and the girls all started fanning themselves or running for the table covered in cups of water just off stage in the dressing area. Mae fanned herself too and walked over to Ikuze. "Want some water, or want something sharper?" there was a line at the water table, and Mae didn't feel like waiting. She bobbed her head toward the bar and signaled they should just go out their to get their refreshments.
Ikuze looked over at Maeve then over at the crowded table before nodding. "This... this is why... I don't dance..." said the thief as she went about catching her breath as she fanned herself, blowing a stray lump of hair out of her eyes. She'd follow Maeve out towards the bar, rolling her eyes at the cat-calls, whistles and offers of love the crowd were throwing their way as they walked towards the waiting drinks. "I swear, if Sade springs on me another dance number, I'm going to shove these heels right up his backside." cursed the wigged girl as she flopped onto a waiting bar stool, taking the chance to rub her feet through the shoe as she looked around for a drink.

As soon as he spotted the two, Rook began waving his arms in the air. "Red! Zuki! Over here!" He turned back to the bartender and ordered two more drinks... he'd gotten thirsty watching Mae sing. As the ladies approached he couldn't help but grin. "The pair of you looked fantastic up there. And the pipes aren't bad either, eh?" This was going to be great. "Hey, Zukes, I think Bones here's got a thing for you... he was just watching you the entire performance. Well, when he wasn't taking a drink." Rook slapped Iaco on the back and grinned. "Think you're finally starting to unwind!" The man smiled happily at everyone around him. Ahh, this was good. Only thing better would be if he had some adrenaline pumping...

Iacomus was mid-gulp when Mad Rook slapped him hard on the back, causing him to have to cover his mouth with his fist in order to not spew booze across the counter. He looked up at the two woman who had returned and waved with his bony fingers. Swallowing the drink that was in his mouth, he glanced again at the black-haired girl and grinned at her, playing along with the other man's previous comment. As if on cue, however, a searing pain arose in his temple and he pressed his index finger and thumb into his forehead. The night he had forgotten... He had seen her then!

"Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that was it for the dances. I might have to squeeze in another ballad if the second set for tonight is running late for their check in, but otherwise... we're in the clear for any more of that all," that all being their last feat of miracles. They slipped back into their seats with the two gents. Mae spotted the new drinks and scooped one up, grinning. How thoughtful of their new friend.
"He's a man with good taste then," she said on the heels of Rooks remark, regarding Iaco and his fascination with the guitarist. She spun around in her seat to lean her back on the bar and look at her companions. Iaco was holding his head like it hurt. pity that.
"Anyone known any good toasts?" She asked, tipping her glass at them.
"Ye may be in the clear, I may not be... musician remember?" said Ikuze with a chuckle before she glanced over at "Bones". "Sorry to burst yer bubble... but I'm engaged. Ye can look all ye like, but no touching." she said, finding it a little disturbing that he continued to stare at her... then he held his head, causing the thief to frown briefly, wondering if her spell on him was wearing off... Maeve distracted her with her own suggestion about a toast. "Nope. All mine were burnt or soggy." the wigged girl quipped as she tipped her glass at the red-head before taking a long draught. She glanced in the direction of the stage where she spotted Sade looking her way and groaned. "Told ye so. I'll be right back..." said Ikuze as she got up and headed backstage.
She was immediately "assaulted" with another costume change, albeit this one was much more comfortable as it was a collection of black and white cloths and leathers, almost giving her a bouncer-ish look. "Guests like a little downtime between the glitter." explained Sade, to which Ikuze could only agree as she was given her guitar back. She rolled her shoulders a little before striding through the curtain onto the stage, cracking her knuckles before she nodded to the band. Sade hadn't said exactly what song he wanted her to play, but she could guess. The thief smirked in the direction of Maeve and their admirers before she let rip with her guitar, her booted feet tapping away at the rhythm and began to sing.

Rook grinned at the banter flying around. At the mention of ttoasts he stood up and planted his foot on the bottom support of his stool before raising his glass. "The god of wine, women, and songs smiles on us tonight! And if he doesn't, he'll be sorry he missed the party!" Rook tossed back his entire mug before letting out a whoop of delight. He looked up just in time to see Little Sheep's performance And leaned against the bar. Well that was fun... he looked at Iaco with a sympathetic frown. Or at least a mock sympathetic frown. "Can't hold your drink? Moore's the shame... the night's still young."
