Calling magical flaming haired man..... riiiing riiiing! Lasair Landevier Lupen
The curio shop was quiet today. Archie leans back in his seat at the front desk to kick his heels up onto the edge of it and tilt his chair back as he tucks his hat down low over his eyes. Traffic had been fairly slow with the new season coming in but he didn't mind. Spring cleaning was approaching and there would be a load of treasure troves to pick through after people toss out what they don't remember is valuable. Junk is something you throw away three weeks before you need it and Archibald Lachlan was ready to pry it out from under some people's noses. He'd already asked Elaine to assist him in tracking some objects down this season but he could worry more about that after a well deserved nap...
The silence trailed up the stairs to the halls of Elaine's current home just above the curio on the second level, only broken after a brief pause by the hushed sound of a brush being dashed across a canvas. Her door was left cracked slightly to let a small streak of natural light escape across the hall. Her window curtains are hanging out the opened panes where fresh air breezes in and flutters the hanging cloth up and out. Her eyes glance sideways at the movement but return to the painting she's working on to make sure her colors are blending to her satisfaction. The hues of a pretty violet, a dashing blue, and some gentle yellow mingle into a gradual gradient for her that finally seems pleasing. The artist pulling back to tap her brush handle to her cheek as she eyes it critically for any smudges or spots she might've missed and she's happy to see nothing standing out but this layer needs to dry.
Elaine's brush clinks against the glass jar of water she drops it into as she pushes back from her work and stands to give a mighty stretch. She's been sitting for too long and her movement upsets the dog sleeping at her feet between the legs of the easel. The merle canine yawns lazily and flicks an ear at her as his brows twitch up when he looks rather blandly at the feline for disturbing his nap. "Sorry Cas... I didn't mean to wake you up." Elaine smiles as she crouches down to rub her hand over her his head which flops his ears around. Elaine rises and pulls her bedroom door open to head for her kitchen and in doing so passes a line of canvases leaned up against the wall in the hallway, depictions of pyromancy and illusions decorate her hall. She'd sent Lasair a heads up that she'd finished a few commissions but he hadn't come by to pick them up yet. Her hand brushes the top of one of the frames as she smiles and turns into her kitchen to set the kettle on for some tea to warm up her slightly chilly morning. She leans back against her counter while she waits for it to heat up.
