How long had it been since he looked upon these walls?
Lasair paused in front of the grand building, a wave of nostalgia coursing through his body and his mind as he took a deep breath. The pyres on either side of the entrance were lit right now, and the faintest scent of their magical flame was a welcomed sensation to the old leader. Was he even leader anymore? That was quite the question. The bigger one being; Is there even a guild left? With scant members to begin with, the absence of charismatic Lasair was sure to be nothing but negative.
Aw well. Gotta start back up somehow, right?
Cracking his neck and walking forward again, a slight limp in his step, Lasair practically pulled himself up the flight of stairs and up to the door. Pulling one side open, he walked in and took a deep breath, relishing in the familiar scent of the building. To the side was the case of masks. Most were present, even more were dusty. It couldn’t be helped, he supposed. He’d come back to dust them all off later. Hopefully at least a few of the old members could be reached via bird message. If not, so be it. He had been meaning to find a way to recruit more members without drawing too much attention. Perhaps promises of learning more about magic with the new awakening could be a method…
He shook his head; those musing would have to wait. For the time being, he busied himself with walking over to the masks and picking up his own. As he rubbed a layer of the dust off, some of the gold paint came with it. “Heh… Might be time for a new layer, huh? Been too long since I wore you old friend.” Placing it back down, he turned to the halls. The books, his study, the rest of the building. Was it all the same as when he had last been here? He needed to know. In fact, he was dying to find out. Replacing the old clothes on his back (that looked more akin to rags right now) could wait a bit longer. He needed to explore the place he called home. He needed to fill in all the information missing from his absence.
